I have a contract with them to come out for 2 inspections and to be a preferred customer. They can come at any time, without it being an emergency. They do a fine job. They take care of things,and they come when I need them.
Description of Work: I use Frymire. I have an inspection with them every 6 months, and if I need anything, I would call them, and they would come.

Our records indicate that this customer had a friend replace his equipment, hardly a fair and competitive circumstance. Our quotes are always competitive and market driven. In the process of selling our house, the buyers requested some repairs to be done that became apparent during the inspection. I called Frymire because they offer both HVAC and plumbing services. At first, I was pretty happy with their service. The people they sent were very nice and I enjoyed working with them over several days. The HVAC technician did a great job and there was no issue with his dependability or his work. The plumber was also a very nice guy, but I am disappointed with his service now. The home inspector thought he smelled gas, so we had the plumber come out and check for a leak. He did find a leak, and then he told me he would need to cut into our walls to further search for the leak. He made 2 cuts in our wall, one of which was necessary, the other of which was not because he decided the best way to correct the gas leak was to run the gas line outside the house to the attic instead of under the house and through the walls. After the work was completed, inspected, and the gas was turned back on by Atmos, I noticed a very strong smell of gas in the house. I called the plumber directly and left a message. I didn't hear back from him for 5 days. I called Frymire directly, but gave up after being on hold for over 20 minutes. I called Atmos, who sent someone over the turn the gas off. Atmos finally came back to the house to check out the gas lines, and said the smell was probably coming from the pipes that has been cut off and to just pour bleach on the pipes to get rid of the smell. The gas smell was not from faulty work on Frymire's behalf, but I feel like the plumber should have returned my call sooner than he did. My other complaint is that the plumber said he would return to my house to paint the exterior gas pipe so that it would not rust. I waited for him to show up for 2 weeks and he did not show up the paint the pipe. I called Frymire to set up an appointment for someone to come paint the pipe. Another plumber showed up, but he did not have a ladder high enough to paint all of the pipe. I feel like Frymire should have sent the same plumber out to finish the job as he would have know what tools were required to finish the job or they should have it noted in their files. Overall, I would not hire Frymire again to work on plumbing, but I might consider hiring them to work on HVAC. I hate to write a negative review as I liked both the people who worked on my house. I just feel the like customer service should have been better with Frymire and that maybe they should have made a follow up phone call to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction.

I spoke to five different HVAC contractors over the course of three days in an attempt to determine whether my system should be repaired or replaced. The first company told me to replace my entire system because the repairs were too expensive for a furnace that was already 13 years old. I had a lot of faith in their advice and almost went through with it without a second opinion. Luckily, I got one just to be safe, and both the second and third opinion recommended repair. However, they also spouted a lot of nonsense about high efficiency systems being a waste of money, so I was skeptical of their advice. Of all five companies, Frymire's advice was by far the most balanced. Keith helped me evaluate the pros and cons of repair and replacement without pushing for either. Instead, he asked me questions to help me consider what was the best answer for me at this time. Although I ended up getting the furnace repaired by another company this time (Keith was technically quoting a new system, not doing a service call on the existing one), I will definitely make Frymire my first call when it comes time for system replacement... and I'll request Keith.

Frymire's response time was great. 09/14/2013 - Technician/plumber came and did his thing. Unclogged the system and seven days later I needed a plumber and for that reason; the 1st guy gets a D. 09/21/2013 - A week later, I called Frymire again for the same problem that their guy had fixed a week earlier. A different person came over and he did a great job; he gets an A. I do not like being charged twice for a problem that should have been fixed on the first trip. I believe that the technician who came over on 09/21/2013 would have fixed the problem the first time had he been the one send. Today is 11/03/2014 and his work is still holding.

Once again Frymire deserves an A+ in all areas. We have been Frymire customers for 10+ years. We used Frymire when we purchased a home in 2004 to replace 2 HVAC systems with new Trane systems and had a service/extended warranty contract at that location until we sold the home. We only had one repair (at n/c) done in 10 years and always had great experiences with techs and customer service. We downsized to a smaller home built in 1964 that had a woefully undersized and mismatched HVAC system (that the inspector did not bring to our attention as technically it was functioning). The home also had the ductwork in soffits that ran down 2 hallways chopping out a foot of ceiling height along with the inability to have any recessed lights in the hallways. We decided that we wanted to replace the system sooner than later and move the ductwork into the attic to make our ceiling height higher and consistent, be able to add lighting in the hallways and replace the returns and registers. Although we were loyal Frymire customers, we still did our due diligence and contacted quite a few HVAC companies who represented various manufacturers. We chose to go with Frymire and Trane again this time for various reasons and couldn't have made a better decision. This was not an easy installation and I was a difficult customer as there were some aesthetic issues that evolved due to moving the compressor that were related to the electricians who had to run a new line - not Frymire - but they worked with us and them to fix the issue and were extremely patient, professional and understanding. We want to give a big thanks to Steve T, the installation team led by Oscar, Chance and Jorge, residential service manager Gary and everyone else at Frymire involved with our job. Everyone went out of their way to insure we were 100% satisfied with all aspects of the installation and equipment. We highly recommend Frymire for any and all HVAC needs.
Description of Work: Replace undersized HVAC system and installed new registers, returns & ductwork in attic (was previously in soffits in 1964 home). Also relocated compressor to side of home from back yard.

The initial install went very smoothly but after is when we had issues. One of the air-conditioning unit that was installed had issues and we were kept the dark on timing for next steps for repair. Couple of points on our experience post installation: * The front line customer service agent was completely unhelpful when I called about our issue and needed to be routed to a manager / supervisor who could even get something scheduled within a reasonable timeframe to look at our faulty unit. Even once we confirmed a service call the next day they were unable to tell me if I was going to be charged since they could not find the contract or warranty specifics. * The service person who came out to fix the unit was unable to provide a timeframe for repair and it took > a week to receive a follow up message after our phone conversation. * I was informed that the problem was a Trane issue but to us, it appears like a collective issue for all parities since this unit has just been installed and Frymire was on point for the installation and maintenance of the unit. In addition to these problems, the owner Read committed to understand the issues and provide some remediation. I am still waiting for a response two months later with two emails that have gone unanswered. It is an uncomfortable situation as we now have a two year service contract going forward, so will let you know if they are able to change their tune and deserve a better review, but our initial experience has left much to be desired.

He called his office to get a price for doing the additional work. The price seemed fair. After about 2 hours he had rerouted the drain system and corrected the problem.

I was satisfied from start to finish with the Frymire team including Tony (who estimated my work), Gary (who provided insight on a difficult install situation), and the installers who completed the work in a timely and professional manner. Frymire honored the commitments they made in the sales process. They weren't the cheapest or most expensive provider; but I feel good about the work they completed at my home.

Frymire did a complete A/C and Furnace install on my property in May 2013. I had 5 companies bid the job and what sold me on them was their honesty and responsiveness, as well as a fair price. They were not the lowest, but were willing to negotiate on some unknown repair issues with my duct work, etc. The team was punctual and very professional, taking extra pains to wear protective footwear on my hardwood floors. The foreman on the job kept me up to speed about the install throughout the day. They started at 9 a.m. and were finished and out by 6pm. I recently had them return for the yearly check-up on my A/C. The tech was efficient and very professional. I would highly recommend their service.

We've used Frymire Services, Inc. for years. They're excellent. They always have the courtesy. Their workers were very professional. They always took off their shoes and put their booties before they come in so that they're not tracking stuff through my house. Their prices seemed reasonable. Because we were happy with them, we weren't looking around. We paid them an annual fee.

Our home had not been cooling. Technician told us freon was low and we probably had a leak. He offered to do a leak detection for $300. But we decided to hold off. A sales person contacted us and suggested a new system, provided pricing for both the indoor and outdoor unit. We ended up getting a deal on freon elsewhere to get us through the season.

Had an appointment with Tony at 3pm. He called about 2:10 pm, 50 mins earlier and asked if he could come by now. I explained that I had an internet outage all day and had been dealing with that issue which put me behind about an hour. I work from home and had to catch up on client issues before I could be free to visit with him. I asked that he come later and his first response was well how much later because I can't come late. I asked if he could make it at 4pm. He agreed. He pulled up about 3:50pm and I called him and told him I needed around :15 mins more until 4:15pm as I was finishing up a conference call. He knocked on the door at 4pm which interrupted my call, I had a colleague ask him to wait for :15mins as I had asked him previously. When I asked him to come in he appeared "put out". I apologized for the delay and explained I worked from home and needed the extra time to catch up so I could be available to any questions he may have. Had I known I would not have to answer any questions and I really didn't need to be here, I would not have wasted my time. He did not give me a business card, no brochure, no explanation of what my options were, nothing. The worse salesperson ever! I do not like a hard sell but this was no sell. I told him I wanted to add a vent in each of the bathrooms and after checking my attic he said it could not be done. He did not offer any other options or any other way to address this issue. I mentioned to him that I would also like to discuss a plumbing issue concerning my water heater. He told me to call the office to schedule a plumber to come out because he does not do that. I was not expecting him to give me an estimate but he did not seem interested at all in understanding the issue and offering to find someone within the company to help. The issue was simple I just need to extend my overflow hose on my water heater into the floor. At the end of the visit, he said he would email me the estimate. He spent a total of :10mins in my home. He asked me no questions as to what kind of unit I wanted, all in all he was pretty negative and had an unpleasant demeanor. After he left I called the office and asked to speak to a manager in hopes that perhaps someone else could come out and present me with some options. I asked the operator for a manager and the operator connected me to Allie. I left a message for Allie to call me and instead she passed the message on to Tony. Tony called and asked what I wanted, I said I wanted some answers because he gave me no information. He said I already told you we cannot add the two vents, etc. I said I was interested in rehashing what he told me. I was on the other line so I cut the conversation short. I called for the owner Reed to speak with him but I have not heard back. I have been very disappointed with the Frymire experience.

I called on Monday to schedule an appointment on Friday afternoon to get an AC tune up and get consulted on a back room that was not cooling. At first the lady said that nothing was available on Friday then put me on hold because she was going to ask a dispatcher. When she got back on, she said they could do Friday. On Thursday, I get a call from a repairmen saying he is at my house. I told him the appointment was on Friday and he said he had it for Thursday. I called the office and they said it was for Thursday. I know I would not have accepted Thursday because I would not have been able to be there. It felt a bit bait and switchish on the timing piece. I told them I would find someone else to help. They seem to get good reviews so maybe this is an isolated incident. But when it happens on the first try, I become very skeptical.
