This is the first time I will be using them. My initial contact with them was really good. They were polite, professional and were willing to go ahead and schedule me which I really appreciated. They called me the next day from the time I bought the equipment on the internet which was good. I would use them again in the future.

There was quite a bit of confusion over the appointment time; but once the technician finally got here, he was outstanding (see above.)
Description of Work: They did the 18-point check-up offered in your Big Deal for $69, including 2 lbs of freon. The technician, Charlie, was very knowledgeable, respectful, and helpful.

This year, when having our routine AC checkup, the freon was out. With an old house, we decided to get estimates on replacing the AC unit, along with possibly replacing the furnace at the same time. From start to finish, Frymire provided excellence. Their salesperson who came to the house, was thorough in his inspection and then provided quality options. He then answered questions when we were comparing estimates. On the day of installation, Frymire technicians arrived early -- not just on time! They were at the house all day and exhibited professionalism throughout (even became accustomed to maneuvering around the dogs). Their manager stopped by midway through to check on things and introduce himself. Our salesperson came by towards the end of the day to make sure things were satisfactory. Before they left, they showed us how to use the new thermostat. Inspection went by without complications. It was a very smooth (and unexpected) process. The only thing we still are waiting for are our free tshirts!
Description of Work: We had a new AC and furnace installed in our house to replace the existing AC and furnace. We were looking for the right cost, more efficiency, and professionalism in installation.

This was the second time I have used Frymire. Their team was on time @0730 and they completed the total installation by 3:00pm. Overall I was totally satisfied with the experience. Ronnie the salesperson provided a complete competitive estimate and was onsite the day of the installation. At the day's end an installation supervisor came to the site to inspect the job. All in all, if Frymire is competitive I would not hesitate to use them. A first class company.

Friday, April 27th 2012 I had my normal Spring AC Frymire inspection on my new Trane AC system that I had put in 2011. After the Frymire Technician left my AC did not work properly - It worked properly prior to the inspection. Tonight my call to Frymire was horrible & a case of uninformed Frymire staff. I spoke with 3 different Frymire people & one who insulted me by stating I wasn't even a GOLD Member. After what I experienced with them why would anyone what to ""pay"" to be a GOLD Frymire Member. Poor Customer Service! My neighbor told me Frymire had once failed to secure a bolt that enabled her AC to run properly during a normal Spring inspection - At the followup visit they admitted such to her. This may be what happened to me. I was told by Frymire tonight that if air is blowing from the house vents but the outside fan isn't running/then is running ... Then the compressor is shutting down to prevent overheating. My AC system is doing this--That is good news that my compressor won't overheat! Not very comfortable to live in - constant air blowing, fan on/fan off - Humid & using lots of electricity. Not good. : ( I hope Frymire works in good faith to find time to come out ASAP & review their work to determine why my AC quit working properly after their Technician left my house 4 days ago. I don't what my compressor to overheat & do major damage to my new system!
Description of Work: I called Customer Service tonight to report my AC quit working properly after their Technician provided an Spring Inspection 4 days ago. What I experienced on the phone was terrible customer service & I waited an hour for them, then they called stating they would not come. Their Call Center is uninformed of their policies & acted in good faith ... It took an hour for 2 other Frymire staff to call me back ,while I waited for them, just to say they would not come.

Response from Frymire Services Inc
Some points to better clarify this complaint: 1. Frymire did not install this customer system. We did install ductwork in 2011. 2. The FPS service agreement the customer references expired in July 2011 (she did not renew our last visit for a tune-up). 3. Our service manager did speak to the customer on the same night when the customer called, requesting service. The customer stated that a pest (rat) was stuck in the condensing unit, disabling the air conditioner. We advised the customer to seek a pest control company to remove the rat and we will then be happy to send a technician.

We got quotes from 6 different companies. Ronnie from Frymire was only one of two who took the time to measure the house and make sure the tonnage and air return was appropriate for the house. Was calm and professional and didn't try to sell us what his company wanted to push. His quote was not the cheapest and not the most expensive. After spending hours and hours researching the various manufacturers of heatpumps we decided on Amana (2 stage units) because they are the only ones still using copper coils and they have the best warranty. We had electronic air cleaners on the old units and we kept those in the new system. On the day of install, the crew arrived on time, placed tarps over the area they word be working, removed the old units and put in the new ones. They completed the job in one day (about 10 hrs). The work was professional and the crew did an excellent install. The units are extremely quiet and you don't even notice the air coming out the registers unlike our previous systems (it was like a wing storm). Very pleased! When it is time to install your new system, be sure the person what comes out to quote you checks out the piping (ours to one of the old units was the wrong size) and the electricity (is it suitable for the new system/can the breaker box handle it. Ours couldn't and we replaced the breaker boxes.)
Description of Work: Frymire installed two 4ton Amana heatpumps (one 16 SEER for the cooler areas of the house and one 18 SEER for the warmer areas).

I have included all I wish to include in the above paragraph. It went fine.
Description of Work: We bought two new airconditioners. They had to break down the old units in the attic in order to get them down the stairs. All done well with professionalism. The sales rep spent a lot of time describing the different types of units available and what our needs were. He measured the rooms to be covered by the smaller unti to try to get us the best fit.

If you purchase contracts, keep up with the dates so that you receive the benefit of two inspections within that contract, or you will loose it. Get to know your service person, it seems to help when you have the same person instead of multiple individuals not familiar with your attention to detail.
Description of Work: Purchased a year contract for A/C-heating and plumbing. Additional service not covered under plumbing contract appeared to be expensive. Even with regular service with this same company, continue to have ongoing problems with one A/C unit requiring multiple parts, and/or stays in the hotel each year during the summer months. Was hoping with regular service with the same company that this would be avoided. Can't say if this has anything to do directly with them or not but they have serviced the units since the house was built.

November replacement work was begun and completed in one day: removal of old equipment and new installation. Equipment is located in the attic above a second floor--challenging. the technical team performed the work in a timely, competent and professional manner. Left the area clean and in good order. Frymire technical people were able to answer in depth any questions we had about the installation, equipment and operation of the equipment. The Frymire Team Lead Omar Castillega set aside the PC Controller Board from the replaced unit so it could be available should the 19 year old second heating unit require PC Controller Board replacement. I noted that Omar Castillega set aside not only the PC Board but took the trouble to set aside the electrical leads and connectors that will facilitate Board replacement should that be required. Before deciding on the type of equipment to be installed, the Frymire Technical Consulting Engineering Manager, Fred Welsh, explained all the many options available to me for the replacement equipment: costs, performance benefits, warranty issues. Frymire put me in a position to come to my own decision about the best cost and value way for me to go. Facts were clearly, completely and well presented--no games--no "push" for one brand or price item over another. After this installation, Frymire followed through and registered the new equipment in my name, assuring all warranties were in place. When it is time to replace the 4 ton AC and heating units (now going on 19 years of operation), I plan on having Frymire do the job. Excellence is what I have come to expect of Frymire since 1993.
Description of Work: On November 21, 2011, Frymire replaced a 5 ton AC unit and corresponding gas heating unit. Frymire's installation team (Lead: Omar Castillega, Assistant Technicians: Mauricio and Cristian) installed an Amana 5 ton ASXC16 Complete System, Amana AMVC80 Variable Speed Two Stage Gas Furnace, Honeywell Digital Programmable Thermostat; Honeywell Media Air Cleaner Base and Filters, and made a direct duct run to improve air flow to a major living area. Frymire installed residence original AC and heating equipment in 1993. Frymire has provided semi-annual tune ups for the 5 ton and the second, 4 ton AC and corresponding gas heating units since residence construction in June, 1993. Since 1993, Frymire and Frymire technicians have been consistently very professional, knowledgeable, competent and timely. Have had a number of solicitations for service and equipment at lower prices--no interest. Frymire has clearly demonstrated over the 19 year period that it is a "first class" company and organization. Frymire performance earned my confidence and trust that Frymire will do it right and make it right.

Their price was less than some other quotes I received from smaller or larger companies - and higher than others. I chose them because the man that came out did an excellent job of explaining what they were going to do - and his overall professionalism was excellent. Also, I had heard good things about the company over the years. They came when scheduled, protected my wood floor surfaces, cleaned up after themselves. It was a full day, but at the end the system that was in bore no resemblance to my Montgomery Ward unit! It was a very large silver colored unit suspended from the ceiling in the attic, which made perfect sense as it avoided vibrations in the house. The system is much quieter than my old unit, much more powerful, more environmentally friendly, my house is more consistently cool or warm, and my electric bills are running half of what they were in the summer months.Their package included one or several free checkups, and when we had problems over the past 14 months they either came or walked us through fixing it (one time it was the breaker switch, another someone in my family had accidentally unplugged the unit in the attic!I highly recommend

I pretty much described the story above. I found them trustworthy and capable. As always, there are some techs that are better than others. Once we realized who the good ones were, we made sure to ask for them. We've since moved to Colorado, so don't have access to them any longer.
Description of Work: We used Frymire in 2 ways: 1. We used their semi-annual maintenance service for 3 or more years. 2. We used them for emergency calls 1. Their maintenance service was very helpful. They were courteous, we usually had the same guy service our unit, so he was familiar with our system and knew the weak points, etc. We would strongly recommend them for this. 2. The emergency calls were both good and bad. We had struggles with our AC (units were 10+ years old). The first call, the technician really didn't fix anything and although the unit worked immediately after he left, within a couple of weeks, we had to call again. I actually had a friend fix it more permanently. However, we did have more times that it failed - other parts. Since we had started the maintenance contract, they usually sent the same tech out and he knew exactly where to look and what to do. That made it much better. Also, with the maintenance agreement, you get priority for the emergency calls - that saved us when we had 72 days in one summer with 100+ temps. Otherwise, we would have had to wait for up to a week to get someone. The maintenance agreement was well worth it just for that!

I currently have a contract with Frymire and have always had wonderful service with them when they come out twice a year to check my Heating/AC Units, however I was extremely disappointed when I needed service this week and they said they couldn't come out for 3 days. I ended up getting another company, Wright Brothers, to come out on Tuesday and fix the problem. I was very happy with Wright Brothers, but disappointed that I paid Frymire so much money for the year and didn't even get them to respond in a timely manner. Update 4/11/12 - Ok, so now I am even more unhappy. I received a letter from the President of Frymire Services in the mail yesterday stating how sorry they were about not being able to make it out the other week when I needed assistance. Well I was scheduled for my 6 month check-up today (which I had already paid for in my contract from last year) and they called me at 6:30 to tell me they won't be able to come out for a couple hours. This was after I called them at 4:30 to make sure they were still coming out. I waited all afternoon for them to come and now they have to reschedule me! I am scheduled for next Wednesday afternoon, so now I will see if they come then. I am changing my rating for the company to a D at this point. I paid $300 last year for a contract that was supposed to allow me 2 check ups and give me priority service. I understand that this is a busy time for AC repairs and such in North Texas, but I feel like the company must have taken on more customers than they can handle at this point since the service seems to have drastically changed recently in all the years I have been using them. After this appointment I will have to find another company that is able to come out in a timely manner and keep scheduled appointments.

We have used Frymire over the last 18 years and the service has been nothing but excellent. They have never been late and we have always seen the same 2 service technicians who have come to know how our system works and keep it in tip top shape. When issues where found they immediately let us know. I rated them a B on pricing only because they are a little higher than other companies, but I always believe you get what you pay for and I would rather pay a little more to have the excellent service that they have ben providing us.
Description of Work: We have used Frymire since 1994 when we purchased our home. They have a great extended service maintenance program that covers 2 furnances and 2 A/C units. We just replaced all 4 of these units over the last 1-3 years and getting 14-15 years of life from all of these with the heavy use they get here in Texas; well we can contribute to the great way that Frymire has maintained these over that time period.

Excellent overall. They have replaced heating/airconditioning, water heater, underground piping, and performed general plumbing work. We started with them in 1978 and they will be here today, March 22, 2012 to perform Spring check-up on our air conditioning units(2).

They always perform the work in an excellent manner, with professionalism and competence that is as good as it gets. Frymire came out to do an A/C tuneup but the technician said he was not able to complete the service because the fan on the outdoor unit was broken. He said it would cost $603 to replace it and it would be two to three weeks before he could install the part because it was no longer manufactured and had to be special ordered. Since the unit was 10 years old, he recommended that I replace the entire HVAC system. He scheduled a salesman to come out and give me an estimate five days later. So, using Angie's List, I called a couple of other HVAC companies so I could compare prices. Both came out the next day. One of those companies said my unit might last another three years. Not only that, they would replace the fan for $354 and could do it the next day. I went with them. Obviously the part did not have to be special ordered. Frymire's estimate was 58% higher than the company that did the job. I will not call Frymire again.

Response from Frymire Services Inc
We are sorry that this client is disappointed with our pricing. Our technician noted that the condensing fan blade was damaged as well a faulty fan motor. Our quoted price of $603 included not only the manufacturer condensing fan motor, but also a condensing fan blade and a capacitor. It is our policy to offer OEM fan motors when possible to ensure reliability and satisfaction. Plus our warranty for a repair is 1 year. We feel that this to be the better solution, especially if a generic motor was installed and the fan blade was not replaced. I do apologize if there was any miscommunication in presenting our diagnosis and solution, especially about the fan motor availability (a replacement motor is readily available). We hope to have another opportunity to regain your trust in Frymire.

The service technician came out to perform the semi annual inspection of my AC unit. The inspection revealed that all the freon had leaked out of the system. He identified the problem and immediately ordered the part to correct the problem. Within five days the part was received and replaced in my unit. The techs showed up as scheduled and explained all that they were going to do.
Description of Work: I bought a new AC unit in 2006 from Frymire. I subscribe to the semi annual inspections of the system and this past inspection it was found that part of the AC system had failed. The unit had lost all freon. Since it was under warranty (10 yr) the service tech immediately ordered the part and it was replaced in a timely manner.

We had them replace one A/C unit, one furnace and add two electronic air cleaners to both furnaces (as we have one for upstairs and one for downstairs. For the next year we have had a service person check and clean both units as per our purchase agreement when purchasing the new equipment. They have always been prompt and price competitive and honest about what needs to be replaced. I choose them for the new equipment based on quality of equipment, past service (they were the original installer to our home when we bought it new and have done most, but not all service calls since then). We have used other A/C Heating companies over the years, but prefer Frymire after over 15 years in this home.t
Description of Work: Removed and replaced one A/C unit inside and out side, one furnace and installed two electronic air cleaners (one per furnace!). Frymire had the best price, quality, and warranty. They performed the removal and installation on time and with no followup problems, except one electronic air cleaner's control panel required replacement within the warranty period.
