Since 1950, Frymire has been taking care of Dallas and Fort Worth when most residents had hooves. At Frymire Home Services is more than simply a standard HVAC and plumbing company. While other companies specialize in one area and do an adequate job at the rest, our service professionals are trained and updated on all aspects and applications of cooling and heating services, indoor air quality solutions, and comprehensive plumbing services from whole house repiping and gas piping to water filtration and water heater services. Description of Work: I replaced a capacitor in one of the units given that the field service team was present. Good service and very professional. I am considering getting a two-stage unit. However, Frymire is probably the highest estimate that I have received. Very professional service and sales staff.

Description of Work: A diagnostic check was done, freon added. Two problems/worn out parts were discovered. One part was replaced on the spot, and the other repair would be only temporary, so the cost of the part was not worth repairing at this time. We do know that, at some point, the A-C unit will need to be replaced. We were pleased that we got it fixed for now, when the repairman could have insisted we need a replacement immediatel. Thankful for the check-up. We spent more for the part only, not additional labor.

Description of Work: Just checked the Freon in the A/C and looked around to verify all was good. They scheduled an appointment and then had to cancel to reschedule at the last minute, the the reason for the responsiveness rating.

Description of Work: When we called to schedule this appointment we specifically said that we thought we had a leak and we would like someone to check that out when they come out. The tech they sent out was not able to check for leaks and he also said he was not able to measure the 2 lbs. of coolant that the deal specifically states, although he did put coolant in the system. When I spoke to the call center about it they simply said that our request for leak detection was not noted on the service order and offered no solution for their mistake. I will never use this service again and regret giving them a chance over the A/C guys I have used in the past simply because of this "deal" offered by Angie's List.

The service was excellent.
Description of Work: Checked my inside HC unit & serviced it. Then checked my outdoor compressor unit & freon charge. He found that the automatic turn-on switch was about to burnout, & he replaced it. He was courteous, & did a thorough job. The extra $143, in addition to the service charge, was for the new switch. The unit was fully charged. I have used Frymire several times, & I will use them again. They have provided me with very good service.

Work was done in a timely manner.
Description of Work: A/C tune-up. Kenneth was very professional and courteous. Found a few problems with my A/C. He wasnt pushy, just explained what needed to be done. So we got him to address these issues. A/C works fine. I would use this service again.

Description of Work: Some of my neighbors recommended them. In 2011 I had just had a new unit installed by another company through my home insurance, but I had a twice a year contract with frymire for servicing to prepare for summer and for winter. They came out summer 2011 to service it and the technician told me there was a big leak that had potential for major problems and quoted $600.00 repair. Since I had a home insurance company , I called them and they sent out another a/c serv.company and they repaired the problem. It was loose nuts and bolts that held the copper piping outside together, the technician said it would have less than $100.00 to fix it, I paid my $55.00 home insurance fee. I called Frymire and they did re-imburse me a service call fee. In 02/2012 Frymire came out to do the yearly service for summer, my contract was going to expire at the end of february 2012, so I had them come out. The guy that came out told me that my a/c needed to be brought up to code and said that the a/c company that installed it probably didn't do it due to laziness cause it was a simple fix. Not trusting that the company that installed it would do a good job, since they didn't do it the first time, I decided to go with frymire, give them another chance cause the guy seemed to know what he was talking about and what he was doing. I held out till I could afford it, since it was going to cost me 198.00. They sent a different guy yesterday 4/14/12 and he had totally conflicting opinions to the guy frymire sent in 2/2012. This guy said it couldn't be done and didn't understand why the other fellow said it was a simple fix. So now I was totally frustrated and told him I didn't trust Frymire, since his opinion was different than the other technician's. I paid him the $66.00 service call fee, which I'm hoping they reimburse after I speak to a manager on Monday, they will if they are a good company. The guy that came out yesterday was p***** off that he came out and that I was upset over the conflicting opinions, though I wasn't rude to him, he must have switched something off to look over the a/c unit, because after he left and it got warmer last night, my unit wouldn't come back on. I called frymire's around 9:30 pm the answering service said the emergency technician would call me back, never heard from them, even though I called back at 10:15pm and I've called this morning, still haven't heard from them. I'll never use them again! Apparently, they aren't screening their technicians to find out how competent they really are!

Our service manager spoke to this client. The equipment was installed by another contractor under her home warranty and based on observations made by our technicians and the client's remarks, that the equipment was installed improperly and not to code. Our fault is not recognizing this immediately and advising her to seek remedy with installing contractor. The client stated that she had the contractor to reconnect high voltage wires, enabling her system to start running again. This is related to our initial diagnosis of exposed high voltage wiring and a missing electrical whip. Which the installing contractor neglected to include in their installation. We will reimburse the client our diagnostic fee and the other contractor’s service fee as well.

Description of Work: A/C went out on a Sunday; however, Frymire sent someone out that night to check. (We had purchased their Preferred Service Plan for $159.00 on 12/8/2011). Unit had to be turned off, as coil was frozen. Technician came out Monday afternoon, and ordered parts; also trefilled with freon so we could keep running A/C until they could get back out. Parts took apx. 1 1/2 weeks, but then they returned to repair the next day. Tech was efficient, friendly, and professional. Would definitely recommend Frymire, and will keep using them for our A/C & heating issues!

The service was an annual service.
Description of Work: I have the annual plan with Frymire's, this is my second year for the Heater/AC and plumbing. The techs are always professional and I do not feel like they "add" work. The tech noticed a tiny hole in a hose and gave me the option to repair now or next spring. I said do it now. My experience has been great and I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a dependable company!

Description of Work: OUR AC WAS MAKING A LOUD WHINING NOISE THAT COULD BE HEARD ALL OVER THE HOUSE. THE TECHNICIAN DID SOME CHECKING AND SAID THAT THE THERMAL EXPANSION VALVE(TEV), (WHICH FRYMIRE HAD INSTALLED 7 MOS BEFORE WHILE REPLACING DUCTWORK) WAS RATTLING AND THAT THE COOLANT WAS LOW. HE ADDED COOLANT TO SEE IF THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE EVAPORATOR COIL BECAUSE JUST THE RATTLING TEV WASN'T CAUSING THE PROBLEM. ALL OF THIS WAS INCLUDED IN THE $69 DIAGNOSTIC FEE THAT HE CHARGED, SINCE HE SAID HE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND OUT THE PROBLEM UNLESS HE ADDED MORE COOLANT. VERY NICE GUY AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION THOROUGHLY. HE DID RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT OF THE EVAPORATOR COIL AFTER FINDING A SIGNIFICANT LEAK. HE TOOK A LONG TIME TO DO ALL OF THIS (OVER 1 HOUR) BUT I HOPE IT WAS BECAUSE HE WAS BEING THOROUGH. THEY QUOTED US $1500 TO REPLACE THE EVAPORATOR COIL WHICH I'M NOT SURE IF WE'LL ACCEPT. WILL GET AT LEAST 2 MORE ESTIMATES.
