Foster Exteriors Window Company

We got the referral for Lynn's company off Angie's List. When John (the salesperson) came to our house, he was the 4th salesperson to give an estimate on the replacement. He was very informative and to the point, explaining what Foster's could do for us. We got the feeling from John and his presentation that we could trust him and the company he represented. After he left, we spent 2 weeks discussing all 4 companies, looking at windows installed by the different companies (from a list provided by the companies), and decided that we wanted Foster's to replace our windows/doors. John gave us the time we needed to make our decision, without bothering us with phone calls. He allowed us to take our time and be sure of what we wanted. When we signed the contract, everything went exactly as promised. Lynn called on the date we were told the windows/doors would be ready and scheduled an install date. At installation, the day could not have gone smoother. The installers were wonderful, very polite, and thorough. They were here on time and started work right away. They communicated with us during the day and let us know how the install was proceeding. As we had questions, the installers were very informative in their answers. Lynn came out to check on progress and explained some things about the new windows that would benefit us to know. By the end of the day, we had new windows and storm doors. After install we had one minor issue that we called Lynn about. The issue was addressed and handled right away. From beginning to end, everything in this transaction went exactly as promised with no surprises. We feel the service with this company is excellent and would recommend them very highly.

They installers did a very good job. They were competitively priced and I will use hem in the future, too.

Company was very responsive to our questions during the quoting process. The work went exactly as how they described it. The installers were very knowledgable (I think they've done this before) and cleaned up after themselves so that you'd never know they were there. Mr. Foster showed up near the end of the process and walked around the house doing an inspection of the windows and work. He did notice an imperfection to the glass in one of the windows (I could only see it when he pointed it out and only at a certain angle - see I told you they've done this before). He ordered a new window panel and installed it 2 weeks later when it arrived from the manufacturer. It's been a few weeks now and I'm happy to report that there are no leaks and the house was much more comfortable during the cold spell we had. So if everything was so peachy why the overall grade of "B" you ask (original grade was a "B" but was changed to an "A" - see UPDATE section). It's beacuse the windows we received are split 60/40 and everything we see - from the brochures they gave us to the sample they had during their sales presentation - was split 50/50. We just assumed the windows would be split 50/50 (there's no mention of the type of split on any of the paperwork we have from them) and was the reason we went with half screens, which are split 50/50. It's extremely ugly (when we push the screens up to open the top portion of the windows) to have windows at 60/40 and screens at 50/50. Since there's no mention of the split ration in any paperwork we feel that we've just got to live with this, however I do kick myself for making an assumption every time I walk by a window that's open on top. Live and learn I guess. UPDATE: Mr. Foster contacted me after he read my review to explain why the windows are split 60/40. He offered to change out the screens from the 50/50 split to full (covering the entire window), which we accepted and have been installed. I must say that I was very impressed with his responsivness and solution to our unhappiness. This is a company that truely cares about customer satisfaction and is not just looking to sell you something and then move on. We are very happy that we chose Foster Exteriors for this project and will not hesitate to use them again in the future should the need arise.

They had accidentally ordered the wrong windows, but they fixed it right away and did an awesome job. It was 17 windows they had replaced. I just found a crack in one this morning, emailed the owner, and he responded right away saying he would take care of it this week. They have been very good.

This company was a pleasure to work with. Pricing is excellent and the workmanship is top notch. The windows have made a huge difference in the way the home looks and the I can definitely tell a huge difference in temperature control. Much more efficient than the old metal single pane windows. My parents are also getting windows replaced by Foster after seeing mine. Thanks for everything!

From the first phone call I received outstanding professional service. I have dealt with many contractors in the past, and this has got to be one of the best experiences I have ever had. They were punctual, they kept me updated on what to expect. When I called for the bid, the young lady who takes the calls emailed me and called for confirmation. Next Mr. John DelMonte came over and educated me on windows and options and gave me my bid right there and then. My wife and I decided on what to go with, one phone call to John and everything was taken care of. The installers were professional, punctual and neat. Installation went well and was very quickly done. We were already 100% satisfied but then Mr. Lynn Foster calls and follows up to make sure we were satisfied. This company goes above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. I have already recommended this company to my coworkers who plan to call soon, and my future business will go to them as well. I was happy with Foster Exteriors Window Company but they did not offer branded windows, so I did not use them. I liked Foster a lot and he is a very good guy. He has an excellent reputation and he used his own crew. The representative came out and gave a fair estimate.

We met with Lynn Foster last year to get a quote and then decided to wait awhile due to the uncertainty of the economy. In September, we decided to contact him again & go ahead with replacing the windows. John came out to discuss what we wanted to do, then they sent Miguel out to measure the windows & place the order. Within about 3 weeks they were installing them on the scheduled day. We had a great experience with everyone we dealt with and love the windows. We went with Wincor windows and just love the windows. It makes such a difference in the way the house looks and looking out the windows is very enjoyable. Overall, it was a smooth, great experience & we couldn't be happier. Foster Exteriors is a good company to deal with. Lynn & John have both checked with us a couple of times to make sure we are happy with their service and the windows. We would definitely recommend this company!!

They did a great job. They were on time and did a nice job with the windows. They did their work with out breaking any of the windows during removal. Their responsiveness was great. Mr. Foster came over and he did all he could do.

This was an excellent experience. A plus all the way from front ot back, start to finish. Allside windows are beautiful and worth the money. Fosters is exceptional.....best in DFW by far.

From start to finish everyone was very professional. John explained the difference in the window types and what he could offer me for my budjet. After placing my order Mr. Foster kept in touch to let me know the progress and when I could expect my order. The windows were built within 2 weeks and Mr. Foster called on a Monday and said he could have them installed on Wednesday. The crew, (Miguel & Jr.) showed up prompltly at 9AM and they were done by noon, which was within the timeframe Mr. Foster told me it would take to install them. Miguel and Jr. were very pleasant, professional and did an excellent job! Midway during the installation Mr. Foster comes out to see how the job is progressing and to make sure the windows fit correctly. After completing the installation Miguel and Jr. cleaned up all the mess inside and out, and I couldn't even tell they had been there. I have more windows to replace and will certainly use Foster Windows in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to have windows replaced in their home.

They were excellent and professional. All work was performed in a single day with clean and neat results. Other than the new windows you wouldn't have know they were there. Their customer service was first rate as well as the follow up. They beat all their competitors in regards to price.

Totally professional in every way. No high pressure sales or dog and pony show. I got bids from 4 other reputable companies, and they were all overpriced, creepy, or just downright rude. John was extremely professional and took the time to answer all my questions and show me everything they had to offer without pressuring me to make a decision. Lynn (the owner) actually takes the time to speak and meet with you personally. The installation crew was top notch. Incredibly fast, clean, and professional. Don't waste your time with anyone else, this is the company to use.

Lynn Foster is very enjoyable to work with. He came to my house and talked through different proposals with me. His crew did excellent work and really cleaned everything up spotlessly when it was over. Lynn was sure to make me aware of the tax credits I would get. I'm like a kid----can't stop looking at them! I would highly recommend this company and intend on having some more work done. Be patient, I think the word is out how good Foster is!

Overall a great job. Very professional, good knowledge of products and processes. Placed order for the Wincore 7700 series widows to replace the north facing windows at my primary home. Received call a week later that they were in and scheduled install for the following week. Installer showed up on time, completed them in half a day. Cleaned up after and very pleased. I was so pleased with the windows and work performed that I requested a quote to replace the remaining windows at my residence. After price comparisons I decided to go with another company for the remaining windows in my home. This was a decision based on price only. I went with the same Wincore 7700 series on the rest of my home.

We chose Foster Exteriors for window and door replacements mainly as a result of all the positive comments on Angie?s List. And everything was as the previous reviewers had reported. Lynn was great to work with in getting all the details worked out. And Miguel and his sons cannot be beat as installers. They were so professional in their work, leaving everything in top shape when they finished. They are very careful to take care of the interior of the home and clean up completely when the job is completed. I highly recommend Foster Exteriors for your window/door replacements.

The whole process could not have gone better. Our sales associate answered all of our questions and gave us appropriate options for our situation. All communications with both him and Lynn Foster went smoothly (email/phone/in person). The price was more than fair and the service was impeccable. I would definitely call on Lynn for future projects and refer him to anyone who needs new windows. His installers were polite, punctual and fast (with attention to detail). The whole project took about 6 hours. Please don't look any further - Foster Exteriors is the company to call on for windows.

Went perfectly from start to finish. John helped us decide on the windows we wanted, We discussed the poor exterior wood framing. John reassured us that Miguel and his sons (the men who come to replace the windows) would be able to handle anything that might arise and would have supplies on hand. The original date of replacement had to be shifted by one day due to rain. They showed up on time on the new date, got right to work, and replaced all the windows. There was one window that was not to be replaced, but accidentally got removed and the glass was broken in the process. Miguel purchased a completely new window (not just the glass!) of equal or greater value and installed it with no charge and no delay in the work. They worked around the fact that there was a cat on premises who needed to be contained and kept away from the dust/fumes. VERY professional group, VERY good at what they do. Cleaned up perfectly when they were done. The house is old, but the new windows make it look so much better!! Thanks to Lynn, John, Miguel and his sons. Will gladly recommend them to anyone wanting windows replaced, and will use them in the future if the need arises.

Met with John (Lynn was at EPA conference re: new lead guidelines). John helped us pick out the windows we wanted, showed us examples, answered all of our questions. No pressure. Worked around our schedule to replace windows when we would be home on spring break. All windows done in one day! Miguel and his sons are the men who actually replace the windows and they are remarkable. Friendly, VERY expert, VERY fast, and VERY thorough. And VERY clean, I might add. Couldn't even tell they had been here except for the new shiny windows!. Lynn came by at the end of the day to review what had been done. One window had an extremely small defect in the glass that Lynn or Miguel had noticed. We wouldn't even have noticed it, but Lynn told us that it was there and has already ordered a replacement to make sure all is perfect. What a company! Would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting window replaced and will use them in the future if we need any additional work done. Thanks to Lynn, John, Miguel, and his sons. Job well done.

They were very prompt in giving me a bid after calling. After deciding to use Foster Exteriors, Miguel, the installer was out to measure for the windows within two days. The installer measures the windows and not a salesman. After measuring and ordering the windows they were installed about 3 weeks later; would have been approximately 2 weeks if not for the weather. Miguel and his two sons do the installation. They are very courteous and professional, make sure everything is covered and do a nice job of clean up. They started at 8:00 a.m. and were finished with the twelve windows by 2:00 p.m. The only hiccup was that one window was shipped with the bottom glass intalled inside out. Miguel pointed it out to me right away and says he will order new glass and then call to set up a time to install when it comes in.

I used Foster exteriors two years ago. Immediately I saw a decrease in my heating bills and then in my electric bills in the summer. Windows are really expensive though a great investment to your home. I did a third of my house 2 years ago. This January I did another third. This time I get the tax rebate! Added benefit. The ones I bought before were very good vinyl with a rating of 32. However, to meet the government requirements for a tax rebate, the new ones had to be at least a 30. Even more heat loss protection for the winter. Immediately after they were done, I could walk to the section of my house that always felt so much colder in the winter and I noticed the difference. You have no idea how much heat loss you are getting until you add the new low-e argon windows. If you stand bare-footed next to your windows and you can feel that cold, then you need new windows. Then there is the test for the summer. Lynn can show you a really cool test about how much cooler in the Texas summer you will feel with these windows. What is an added benefit is that because of the protection of these windows, you get protection to your drapes and furniture. Who has not seen the fading that you get from windows? I'm not rich, so I am taking this a portion at a time. I now have 2/3 of my home done. Hopefully, I can get the last 3rd done before summer. Getting that tax break next year is an added bonus. One thing I have to add here. Lynn Foster is so nice. If there is one speck of an item that you are not happy with, he will make sure you are before you pay him the remaining amount. This time, after the installers had left, I went around inside and out and checked everything because I knew that Lynn would be by to collect the rest of what I owed him. He also checks out the installation. I found a very slight cut to one of the window screens. So, when I talked to Lynn, I told him about that. It turns out that his installers had already noticed that and had bought the screen to fix it. Nothing is missed. His installers are great! A father and two sons. Your yard will have a lot of bent metal and old windows while they are working, but once they are done, you won't even be able to tell that they were there. I DID use them again and so will you if you don't get it all done at the same time. I highly recommend his Alside Excalibur windows with the Climatech Elite low emissions glass package. I can hardly wait for another Texas summer to test them out. Thanks again Lynn! 10/4/10: Wanted to give an update. Summer is over. With my new windows I was very surprised just how energy efficient they really are. My highest electric bill was for July. It was $192. We had at least 16 days straight with 100 degrees + weather I think. When I am home, I keep the temperature at 71 degrees because I like it cool. My house is 1976 squre feet. For August the bill was $150. This is just amazing!

I was very impressed with Fosters. They were very professional. They knew the rules and regulations of my area. They said they would get the permits and everything else. They knew what they were doing and that impressed me.
