gas leak repair
+ -1 moreOnce the gas company turns off the gas, it requires a city permit, and an inspection - they have to test the line inside and outside the house under much higher pressure than normal. And they inspect all other gas appliances for code in the house. If your house is older, you can pretty much assume that there will be leaks. Detecting and capping these leaks as well as replacing the line outside is a much more expensive proposition than capping a gas fireplace. Not to mention that we were without gas (cooking and heat) for 4-5 days. I will also not renew our home warranty.
Description of Work: Erwin was sent by our home warranty company. I submitted a previous report regarding his visit to tighten the valve in a gas fireplace. He suggested getting a new fire log system. We still smelled gas (he did not run a gas leak detector, only suds on the pipe). I called the gas company. We had a fairly significant leak and they turned off the gas. I also learned that Erwin was the plumber that was hired by the previous owner (same warranty company) and that he should have corrected the problem properly at that time.

Description of Work: They ran a gas line to my dryer and a hard gas line to my heater.

+ 0 moreMax and Manuel with Erwin Plumbing came on time and were friendly and knowledgeable. I had a small amount of clean up to do after they were finished. I have had them do other jobs for me and would not hesitate to hire them again.
Description of Work: Ran gas line to gas dryer and replaced flex gas hose to heater unit with hard pipe.

+ -1 moreMr. Swindler was on time. He suggested the parts that we need to purchase and said he would install them for the price of a service call, especially since turning of the valve was such a quick/simple thing to do.
Description of Work: Mr. Swindler inspected our gas fireplace and turned off the gas line, we were smelling gas. He was sent via our home warranty policy. This was a problem not sufficiently addressed after the house was inspected prior to purchase.
