Because a wall drop wasn’t possible in converted garage apartment, Service tech put an extended wall plug with junction box on an existing outlet and ran a wall mounted conduit to the closet for the new outlet. Quick work & friendly knowledgable techs. I higly recommend them.

Awesome company, management and employees! Highly recommended for any electrical repair / improvements! My family and I recently moved into a new home in Dallas, TX. Our home was originally built in the 1930's and a lot of the electrical work was in need of repair to make it up to code and safe for our kids. Nick Schaeffer, the owner, personally came out to my house for a free consultation. During the consultation, Nick focused on making the house safe (GFCI for kitchen/bathrooms, grounding for major appliances, etc) while being conscience of our budget. We came up with a plan, and I arranged for his team to come out to the property before we moved in to ensure all work could be done before my wife and kids were in town. Nick and his employees (who are all qualified master electricians) could not have been more professional and friendly during the job. They truly made the process of moving into a new home easy for all the repairs that were required. And all the work that was completed was done up to our expectations (quality of work, on-time, etc) and came in at the quoted price, so there was not any big surprises to our budget. Since our main job was completed by ElectricMan I have already booked some smaller jobs to be completed and will use them for all future electrical projects as well. Work they did for us include: 1. Grounding outlets for major electrical appliances (TV, computers, etc) 2. GFCI outlets for kitchen/bathrooms 3. Update of plugs / switches 4. Installation of ceiling fans/lights 5. Installation of "smart home" switches / device

I had to pay $59 for a quote that was frankly outrageous. I ended up using a different electrician (also an A on Angie's list) for the work and their prices were much more reasonable. I just needed one transformer replaced and asked for prices on the others since they were also old. They gave me like 4 different price levels (nothing printed!) that had some outrageous prices up to over $2K for one and close to a $1000 on the other. When I said I only wanted the box replaced, they said "$765 per transformer" and "$231" for the timer box. I asked why so high for the transformer and they said they "were expensive". So I looked online and the exact box I have is $70. So almost $700 in labor per box I assume. the other electrician (also licensed and bonded) gave a much more reasonable price of $220 a box AND DID NOT CHARGE ME JUST TO GIVE ME A QUOTE!!

Thank you for giving us high marks on professionalism, punctuality, responsiveness and quality. We do not claim to be the cheapest electrician in town, but our craftsmanship and eye for detail, when added to those high marks you mention, is what sets us apart from our competition. Our price was higher because we included repairing the 5 rusted conduit pipes wired into the failed transformer, and replacing the compromised wire inside of the rusted pipes. If these issues aren't addressed, you will be making repairs again a lot sooner than needed if done right. There will always be another electrician out there willing to take the cheapest way out, but that is not always the best solution.

This job went very well - and was very professionally done. Brian and Ralph came to the house, walked me through all of my options, got my decisions, wrote an estimate, and immediately performed the work. The work was done to my complete satisfaction - and they did a great clean up job afterwards. The company was extremely responsive to our request for service (unlike some others!). Would definitely hire this company again. Highly recommended.

Mariano was a great guy and a good worker. Enjoyed having him do the work. He installed the remote to the ceiling light/fan, but could never get the two to work separately. He spent about an hour trying. Finally, he decided that the new remote did not work with my very old ceiling fan, so he returned everything to its original situation. He did fix some loose light fixtures on the fan. Pleased with the work, even though the remote, which I supplied, didn't work properly. My only complaint is the HIGH cost, even with the discounts.

Very well. The two electricians (Isaac and Mike) were knowledgeable and professional. They diagnosed the cause of the problem I had been having with a ceiling fan, and they were able to fix it, thus enabling me to keep the difficult-to-find 6-bladed ceiling fan I have had for some time. I was very pleased with their work.

Brian did a great job. Scheduling was easy. Appreciated that he arrived promptly and kept us informed of where he was in the process (so costs didn't didn't get out of hand). We had ruled out some "simple things" already; Brian was able to find the source of the problem and fix in short order. We decided to add on a few extras while he was here- replacing/repairing some closet light fixtures also. Would recommend and use again. We were able to apply a coupon.

The mark of a truly fine company is how well they back up their word in the face of adversity. Electricman is such a company. We hired the firm to fix a damaged electric main in our alley that a construction truck had hit. They came out and did a fine job on the actual work. During the work an irrigation pipe was damaged. It was a 1 in 1000 occurrence that was entirely beyond their control, an act of God. Electricman paid for a plumber to come out and fix it without any hassle. It is the first time I have ever had a company do this and I have worked with many companies in the past on all sorts of projects with all sorts of such mishaps. In my opinion this separates Electricman from all the rest and this company will be first in line to do any electrical work I need done in Dallas.

I was originally quoted a $59 charge for the electrician to come out to inspect the work. That to me sounded reasonable. I had an alarm that would go off unless we turned off the breaker. When the technician arrived he spotted the problem immediately. All he did was disconnect the alarm system. Pulled a cord out of the socket. For this, we were charged $159 dollars. I tried to call back and spoke to the receptionist who assured me it should have only been $59. She said she would have someone call me. Three weeks and nothing! I called again and she said the repairman was supposed to call but he was out of the office and he would leave him a posted note. What unprofessionalism and way to avoid the costumer. I will rate them in every venue I can.

Brian and Nicko arrived right on time. They made sure they could install the two recessed can lights where I wanted them before cutting into sheetrock. Fortunately there were no obstructions and they were able to quickly add the lights and line them up perfectly with the existing lights. They also diagnosed a problem with the GFCI outlets in the kitchen that the previous owner "fixed" before I bought the place. Brian and Nick took the time to trace all the wires down and isolated the problem and repaired it correctly. Overall everything went smoothly.

WARNING: This used to be a good company, but the owners seem more interested in money then service. So why give my first bad review on Angies List? 1) Charged me $241 for less then a hours worth of work. ( Watch out for their package deals) 2) Wanted me to pay them before finishing the job, then didn't show up for appointments to finish the job 3) Refused to give back money when they didn't show up for two different appointments to do the job. 4) Used cheap parts to make more money ( $7 dollar door bell kit) 5) Rude and deceptive owner (Nick) My wife and I needed to replace our door bell, so we called " The Electric Man" from Angies list. When the Electrician arrived, I was told that it would cost $248 to replace the door bell. It seemed a little expensive, but I trusted that a company on Angies List would not cheat me and I paid the Electrician. The Electrician forgot to bring a " Door Bell Kit" even though that was the reason we had him come out. So he then sent his assistant to get a Door Bell Kit at Home Depot. The Electrician then came to me and told me Home Depot had run out of Door Bell kits and he would have to come back the next day to finish the job. The Electrician then guaranteed me that he was going to be at my house the next day between noon and 3pm. The next day I waited for 3 hours (noon to 3pm) for the Electrician, but he never showed up. I then called the company and was told the Electrician would be at my home in the next two hours (3pm to 5pm). After two more hours, the Electrician still hadn't shown up or called. I called the company to complain, but the owner didn't seem too interested in the fact that his Electrician did not show up, because he was the one who canceled my appointments because the electrician was on a "Bigger" job. The owner then told me the Electrician would show up at my house sooner or later and I would have to wait. I told the owner I didn't have any more time to wait because I had to take my two sons to an event, so the owner told me "he would do me a favor" and schedule the appointment for the next day. I told the owner I did not need his favors and that I would call back when I had time for another appointment. At this point, I had wasted eight hours of my life waiting for this company ( 3 different times) to show up for scheduled appointments or to find a door bell kit at Home Depot. I finally decided to cancel their service and get my money back. At first the company told me they would charge me $59 for the service charge to cancel the service, but later that day the company called me back and told me that the owner and his wife had decided to keep all of my money ($248.00), but would refund the cost of the door bell kit they had not installed for ($7). At this point this company left me with few choices because they had my money, so I agreed to let them install the $7 dollar door bell kit. I had to wait for the Electrician again and when the electrician finally showed up with the door bell kit, he finally installed it. So what was the cost of replacing a door bell with "Electric Man Company"? Less then an hour of labor $241 Cheap door bell $7 Total Cost $248 On top of all the problems with this company, now I have to worry about my house burning down every time somebody rings my door bell ( $7 dollar door bell kits are not known for their great performance). I can't say enough about the the great companies I have used on Angies List, but it looks like this company has turned into a bad apple.

Sir, I don't know what happened in your world this day, but you were looking for a whipping boy. You called my office in a rant, hollering at my 70+ year old receptionist. She is one of the sweetest women alive, and she couldn't transfer the phone to my husband quick enough. Then, I listened to my poor husband trying to get you to calm down so he could understand the issue and help you, for 30 minutes, while you were yelling at him on the phone. We've been out to your house three times in the past year for various things. Each time the cost was under $250. We had total man-hours on-site this time of 3 hours and 36 minutes, as verified by GPS, much of that time in your attic. We did some trouble-shooting and replaced your doorbell transformer, chime, and button. The only thing that wasn't fixed when my technician left, was the chime. He says he told you he would be back the next day to replace that for you. Somewhere, communication missed, and you interpreted that he said between noon and 3:00. My husband apologized profusely for that. He told you that your technician was on "Another" job, not a "Bigger" job. He told you that was his last job for the day, and then he planned on heading to your house. He was headed to your house, when you called us back and told us not to bother that day. Nick offered to come out the next morning, or afternoon, you declined. You called the office the next day, asking for a full refund, telling my dispatcher no work was done. That was untrue. We already had over 3 man-hours on-site at your house. When you told him the work wasn't done, he told you that you would only have to pay the trip charge $59. When he looked at the work order and saw how much was already done, he called you back and offered to refund $7 for the chime. You declined the refund and told us to come out, which we did. Sir, your job is completed, we used above industry standard parts, and you weren't gouged on the price. Each time you called our office, you were treated with respect, which is more than we received from you. We're a family owned business that has worked hard over the past 15 years to build a stellar reputation. We care about each and every one of our customers, and the job we do. Life is precious, and too short.

We called them up, and I spoke with their master electrician to describe the situation. My schedule was iffy for them to come out and check out what the issue was to confirm their suspicions of the issue we talked about on the phone earlier in the day. They were great to be able to squeeze me in to confirm the issue and schedule a repair for the next morning. They were a bit early, but we were ready for them to fix our box. The repair took about 1 to 2 hours. Before we could get power back on, the box needed to pass city inspection. It did not pass as it was missing some gel or sealant needed on the repaired lead. ElectricMan came right back out to alleviate the situation so it could pass. The city inspector must of had some communication issues with ElectricMan and then with Oncor because although the repair was done around 11 am, the inspector's first look at the repair was roughly 1:30 pm. Funny thing was that the inspector was actually at the house about a half hour before the repair had even got started ready to inspect. We told him he had to come back later when things were done. So, by the time the city gave Oncor the okay to return power, it was "After hours" for them. Desperate for our electricity, we agreed to the extra charges for an independent electrician to return our power. When he arrived, he found an issue with Oncor's box near our curb. The power had to be cut off for us and several of our neighbors due to an issue there. We have no way of proving if the two problems were related, but we finally got power back at about 1 am that night. Could it have been possible that the lead was slightly bumped or tweaked when the smart meter was put in combined with Oncor's box issue make us have to do this repair? No one really knows, but have your meter box checked every now and then because our house could have burnt to the ground without the repair. After the repair, I checked with a couple of other electricians on social media who told me they would have charged much more than what I got charged at Electricman. So, I gave them a B+ only because they did have to come back to the house so it could pass inspection. The city inspector's and Oncor's communication and outside (Oncor's box) variables were not Electricman's fault.
Description of Work: We had some flickering going on throughout our house, so we called Oncor to come and check the meter box. Turns out one of the two leads in the meter box was fried pretty good. They told us they would have to cut the power and have it checked by a professional. So, after doing some research here on Angie's list, we selected ElectricMan based on their great reviews.

It was a great experience! When I called, the woman I spoke with was courteous and professional; she was able to have a technician come over the following morning. Our technician, Brian, was wonderful! He called to let me know when he would arrive, and was prompt, courteous and knowledgable. He identified a GFI outlet that needed to be replaced - all outlets are working fine now. Brian answered all my questions and gave us some good advice going forward. I would definitely use this company again!

Electric Man is still my “go to” for electrical work. It had been a while since I had the need to call Nick and his staff at Electric Man so I was hopeful that nothing had changed. Thank goodness that although some of the faces have changed, Nick is still the ElectricMan and runs a tight ship. We had some highly difficult and unusual lighting to be installed that required quite a bit of extra work and a couple of trips to get them installed properly. The technicians are always prompt, let you know when they are on the way and get things done in a timely and clean manner. Nick and his staff do what it takes to make you a customer for life.

I could have done it myself but didn't know the conduit went via an electric junction box on the fence before going to the pool equipment, and therefore thought the cable was stuck in the conduit.
