Chris Roberts Concrete

Chris and crew showed up Saturday morning to finish forming for the pour and started pouring in great weather just over half way through, the winds and rain came out of nowhere. The guys were troopers and stayed out there with plastic trying to protect the project. They stayed and finished when the rain stopped. I can't say enough about his crew and Chris. I know dealing with an OCD person was challenging and he put up with me with kindness and patience. His prices are reasonable and I highly recommend him. He did everything he could to make the project successful, even with the unforseen weather issue.

Excellently is how the project went. The original 1957 jankety looking step units, sunk and settled crooked in relationship to the house, ended up being a solid as granite. Chris Roberts's team was not slowed down. They had both out and rubble removed by mid-day. Drawings were provided to the team for the new step design and orientation. The forms were built exactly as described and concrete poured by end of the day. The next morning they were out to remove forms and float an exterior coat. Aesthetically speaking the entire project is way beyond imagined. Over the years various sections of sidewalk, concrete decking, and a pool equipment pad had been poured adjacent to the other set of stairs leading up to a backdoor no longer in use. Needless to say there was three different heights of concrete at the intersection where they were to pour. Somehow Chris's team was able to tie everything together making it look like it had always been.

Good . He had men here working whenever it wasn't raining.

Chris was great to work with, and his crew did a great job and cleaned up after themselves well. I will be hiring him again.

Chris is easy to deal with and reasonable in price. New pad was well done and there were no problems. Some of the repair work didn't hold up as well as we hoped, but with shifting in N. Dallas soil, it was understandable. Plan to have Chris do additional work.

All projects were excellent except the repair of the low stone wall. The stone wall continues to settle and the mortar/ mastic repair of the joint wasn't up to the quality of the rest of the work. In fairness to Chris, I have not contacted him about the wall, so he wasn't asked to correct the work. Chris is honest, easy to work with and has good suggestions. I will definitely use him in the future, and don't have a problem recommending him.

Repaired loose stone window sills in addition to adding joists to our front entrance arch. Chris came by to quote and he also came by again the day of the work to oversee the work.

Chris was very communicative throughout the whole process from giving a bid, getting a city permit, the city inspection and finally the pouring. The whole process took over 2 months, but the majority of delays were due to weather and the city. Very competitive price as well (included cost of city permit).

Chris is very down to earth, and very easy to work with, but clearly has tons of experience in the business. He and his team did an excellent job. When the scope of the job turned out to be bigger than we'd initially though, Chris quickly and professionally gave me a new quote, that was completely fair, and actually fairly generous given the additional labor needed. The finished product looks fantastic, and we couldn't be happier.

Chris's crew showed up as scheduled on 2 occasions and were courteous, easy to work with, very quick and efficient. Chris is good at working with clients to find a workable solution to problems. I had a small detail on finishing that he did not follow up on, but I was able to fix the issue myself in 15 minutes for about $4, so this was very minor. Overall, we are very pleased with the work and the price. I would definitely recommend him for the type of work he did for me. He will be my first call for any type of concrete or stone work in the future.

Needed some cosmetic repair of spalled concrete and cracks on my porch. Usually have difficulty getting tradesmen interested in small jobs like this. Chris responded promptly, and the job is done in approximately 48 hrs of initial contact. Work looks great- his crew is skilled and polite..can't say enough about this great experience. So rare these days.

Work was performed on time and as planned. Mr. Roberts presented several options for solving drainage problems. We also discussed the possibility of future stone work. Clean up was complete and thorough. The only hiccup was that he forgot to check to see if my city required a permit. It turns out that they did, but the inspector was very satisfied with the work. I would difinitely hire again.

I read the reviews for Chris which were impressive, so I made sure to contact him. When I first called HE stated that it would be helpful if I would text him pictures of what I was hoping to have done to our driveway before coming out for an estimate. I was fine with that. I hadn't had a chance to get the measurements and my husband was anxious to get this project going so he gave Chris a call today (10/16) from work to discuss it again. My husband and Chris agreed to try the pictures but if that didn't give him a good idea then we would just meet up this weekend to get an estimate. My husband created some pictures of what he hoped would help Chris determine a potential quote. The picture did not give Chris the amount of detail he needed and however, during a conversation via text he became very snarky when my husband asked what type of iphone he had so he could try and modify the picture for a better view. Remember, they had agreed to TRY pictures (which is also what he asked me to do in my initial contact). Without even saying that the pictures were not working and that we should just meet up he just texted "I don't think I can help you at this time. Thank you." We were perfectly willing to meet up with him, but he initially asked for pictures (from me and then agreed to them again with my husband), and to save time my husband thought the images he sent would help. I had even gone outside and gotten the measurements while they were texting but came back to the last text. We texted him back stating that we thought he was willing to try a picture but if that didn't help we could meet up...he completely bypassed the part about meeting us and just flat out said he couldn't help us because the pictures didn't work. We were both surprised and let him know our disappointment in his poor customer service skills. We KNOW we are not experts in this field and with the great reviews he had we were truly hopeful for a good working relationship with Chris. I cannot attest to his quality of workmanship but I can attest to quality of professionalism and communication which is poor. If you are going to use this individual might I suggest you turn down any photos and have him come to your home for the estimate. Avoid the texting and pictures as he is unable to communicate past a minor picture hiccup.

I had initially contacted Chris on Sep 9 to provide and estimate for the repair. I had an estimate on Sep 14. We agreed to terms on Sept 18th. Chris had let me know that it would be a couple of weeks before he could start. We met again on the 26th to go over the plan. He said at that point it would be approx 2 weeks to get started (now 3 weeks from our agreement date). I reached out on Oct 2 to get a start date. He promised me a firm date on Oct. 5. I haven't heard from him as of Oct 7 even after reaching out. I hear good things about his work which is one of the reasons I selected him but he needs to improve his responsiveness.

Called Chris on 7/28/15 at 10am about getting an estimate on an extension of our existing patio. Chris asked that I text him my request for what work I was looking to get done. I wasn't able to text back until the following day 7/29/15 around 2:30pm after going outside to measure the approximate square footage and give him a brief description of what I wanted done to our patio and left him my name. I have yet to hear back from him and its 8/6/15. I will not be using his services if I get a phone call after this review.

This was a small job that Chris managed with the same professionalism you would expect in a major project. Both Chris and his team were a delight to work with. The quality of the work was exceptional. All aspects of the job were completed in a timely manner, even though rain was a daily challenge. Very pleased with the results.

I put my faith in all the good reviews and was not disappointed. The quality of the workmanship is so good, and Chris is very nice to deal with, as are all his employees. I chose chopped silvermist for the retaining wall, and the results were beautiful. Chris suggested I use the same type of stone (although cut differently) for the concrete patio border which was a great idea. It really tied the wall and patio together. They also built some flowerbeds from brick that the previous homeowner had put in the backyard--stuff I didn't really know what else to do with--and those results were beautiful, too! For any future projects, I would ask Chris and his crew in a heartbeat. Thank you! (The cost certainly wasn't zero but was very reasonable and well worth it.)
