Castillo's Contractors

Fernando arrived at the agreed time, he was very professional. I showed him what I wanted done, and he took a piece of my parquet with him to test to see if he was able to refinish. The parquet turned out to be too damaged, in the meantime we also came across plumbing and electrial issues. So with having to purchase new floors for the downstairs, replace a subfloor in the bath, replacing 2 new toliets and 3 rusted out faucets...and 3 other electrical issues, I had to put the painting at the end of the list. I did get quotes from other painters, they sent email details on pricing. He was a little higher but not much and I just got a total from him, which I was fine with. He is very prompt in his communcation, via phone and text msgs.

Very smooth efficent labor's clean and neat, wore footies in home. Cleaned when they finished. Asked if there was anything else that needed attention. Would use company again in a second.

Project was on budget extras were down to us as we asked for additional work to be done. Fernando was on site every day to check on his guys and to take care of any issues that arose - he consulted us on the progress and explained all the work being done. Started with complete demo of the old space, taking room back to studs, installed new insulation to outside walls and repaired/replaced rotten wood. A/C return moved Subfloor was completely replaced, and new floor joists were installed to repair water damage. Wall was removed and new knee wall constructed. Plumbing for shower was moved to opposite end of new tub New Hardie cement board installed in shower area Green board installed in other wet areas New tile with accent added to shower and vanity backsplash New floor tile installed using Detra Mat underlayment Néw Custom cabinets installed with new doors to match added to existing built in Granite countertops Shower glass installed I cannot praise Fernando and his crew highly enough - especially ' Lalo', the man is amazing! There seems to be that there is nothing tis guy can't do. Trash was hauled off every day, and the job was left tidy every night. WELL DONE- LOOKS FANTASTIC!!!!!

I called Mr Castillo and we talked about a meeting time. I admit my person did not make it there the first time due to me giving him the wrong number, so completely my fault. We rescheduled and we both showed to look at the house. After looking at the house was told couldn't do the work until I gave him the sq ft of the house, which I was not sure why he need that to tell me how much the rooms inside would be. I sent the sq ft on 6/11 and received a thank you txt, so Im sure he has it. The next day asked if he had anything to give me an idea on the price of this and he replied working on it. I than txted him on 6/23 (12 days later) about the estimate and received no reply. All in all meet on the 8th and on the 24th I am still waiting on an estimate. Would be nice if they said sorry we cant do it or hey we are still working on it but here is a few questions we have or here is the price of a few things, but I have received nothing. I WOULD NOT REC this company to anyone.

That seemed too pricey for the work needed to be done. He was still very good at communicating and responding promptly to my emails.

I contacted Castillo's about a upcoming kitchen remodel. After making an appt to get a quote, they came out, reviewed my plans for the remodel, made suggestions base on experience, and advised on timing. The quote was emailed within 5 days as stated during the visit. Although we ended up using a different contractor, they were professional in their quote and response and I would consider using them in the future.

I got the quote that I called about and when I get the money I will get the window fixed.

I sent an email through Angies List and received an email response within 48 hours requesting an appointment time. I did not set one up as I had already foung a contractor. My inquiry was responded to in a timely manner.

I met with Fernando Castillo at my home to discuss the installation of the items above. He was courteous and prompt. He was able to discuss my options for where I could install the exhaust fans and a few grout option that were within my price point. He was able to get me a written estimate within 4 days after visiting my home.

From the moment I called I was vey impressed with Castillo remodeling. I had already gotten several qoutes to remodel one of the lease properties that had a tenant to move at the end of November. Fernando met me to do a qoute right away. He was always on time to every appointment and usually waiting for me to arrive. His qoute came in a little higher than another contractor who also bid on the property but he was willing to negotiate. He also was able to complete all of the work in less time than origially promised. He even met me on at a local flooring vendor to help educate me on how to choose laminate and tile flooring. I am a property manager in Dallas and I have used him several times since this initial job in December. I will continue to do business with Fernando and recommend him to all of my owners... He gave us ideas for the bath remodeling, he listened to our plans, he suggested providers for the tiles and other items, explained in detail how they would work and the lenght of the project and sent us an estimate a couple of days later. His price was reasonable and we liked that he even gave us suggestions about where to buy some of the items that we're replacing and also how to arrange the delivery. Once budgeted the cost of the remodeling of our little bathroom into our finances, we gave him a call and he'll set us up in his calendar so they can start the whole project. We searched for more than a couple of months for a contractor in order to get the right one for our budget and remodeling needs and we feel like Fernando was the right one for sincerely apologizing over missing the first appointment and for being professional and punctual on the second one, and contributing with ideas for providers and delivery arrangements when he came to give us an estimate, on top of being reasonably priced.

I called Castillo's to get a quote on remodeling my kitchen, bathroom and bedroom I had to leave a message. They did not return my call.

,THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY. THEY HAVE MADE IMPROVEMENTS ON MY HOUSE AND ADD ONS. THEY ARE TIMELY, RESPONSIBLE, AND RELIABLE. THEY ARE THERE EACH DAY UNTIL THE JOB IS DONE. THEY WILL WORK WITH YOU IN SELECTING CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, SUCH AS FLOORING, PAINT COLOR, ACCESSORIES, ETC.

I have used Fernando several times over the course of this year, and his crew has done amazing work every time. He has fixed broken tiles in my bathroom, to this latest project, Fernando's crew is always polite and professional. We had a whole wall of rotten wood that was causing our house to leak. The removed that and replaced it. Then they did the same thing to my door. These guys show up when they say they are, to always go the extra mile.

Fernado and his crew arrived on time and worked within schedule and budget. His crew cleaned up every day when they were finished. The work was very well done and very satisfactory. We plan on using Fernando again for interior paintwork in the bedrooms and guest bath.

I had to call him to remind him to provide the estimate for the job several days after he came over and looked around, and when he did give the estimate, he simply said $7000 with no itemization at all. When I asked for more of a breakdown for part of it, he just gave a smaller bid but still no itemization.

He extremely professional and on time. He was great but I didn't go with him because another contractor that I met I saw some of his work and since they were the same price I went with the one that I could see the work that he did. He was very reasonable and very knowledgable and overall he seemed like a good guy.

When we met Fernando gave me some suggestions in the design and provided an estimate quickly. He and his team got started within the next week with the work (my request). It took a little over 4 weeks from start to finish. Some days there were several guys working at one time, other days it was just one or two. It was always the same team though, and they were very professional, polite, and easy to work with. We had a communication issue in the framing of a wall in the living room, which he quickly resolved. As with all issues, it is how you react and solve them that make the difference in customer service and I really appreciated his professionalism. What could have been a problem wasn't at all. His talented painter even matched an orange wall with a yellow undertone. You wouldn't know it was new. The tile man that Fernando uses is an artist. The porcelain tile floors look fanstastic (we went with tile that looks like wood) and the stone wall came out better than I had hoped. Actually, all members of his team are very talented. They went to great lengths to make sure that we were pleased with all of their work, including a couple of "extras" without hesitation or even charging me (painted the kitchen ceiling, installed living room blinds, installed wall standards in the pantry for example). We went through some minor punch list items at the end and Fernando always followed up to make sure that everything was perfect and we were happy. He was very responsive both by email and by text throughout the entire process. I am in the design field, so I know a bit about construction and am very picky. He wasn't bothered by it at all and was very patient with me. I am now a huge fan. Can't wait for the next remodel together!

The floors are amazing, went in fast and they really make a huge difference to my almost 100 year old house. They were as neat as possible, hauled everything away (old carpet) and moved all the furniture.The floors are finally worthy of my new bathroom that they had completed last year.

Fernando was quick to respond and follow up. The day we spoke, he reviewed the needs and delivered a quote the next morning by email. He quickly modified when I asked for additional work. His team was punctual, good-humored and polite. There were anywhere from 1 - 5 workers at my house for most of three days. The work was of great quality and they took extreme pains to match my paint. Fernando checked back regularly to inspect the work. They even touched up some paint areas that were outside the scope of the work at no extra charge (and without being asked). Great job-- would heartily recommend again!

The project was a tad much longer than what I had wanted. It was going to be 6-8 weeks. I didn’t use him, but I was very impressed with his professionalism and suggestions. It was a free estimate. I liked his promptness. He was on time. I have dealt with some others before, and they were not prompt. He was very professional, very prompt, and very courteous. He called back to ask if I had any questions about what he had told me. I didn’t use him, but if I had used the work would have been very good.

They gutted the room, rebuild the walls/fixed water damage on the ceiling and thenfinished off the room. Moved washer and dryer in and out, installed a new door. They did great. Now they will remodel my bathroom.

Fernando and crew did a fantastic job. His workers are very punctual, skilled, and finished the job quickly. Fernando quickly grasped the scope of the job which included demo-ing out some older accordian style doors. His carpenters assembled and framed the walls which required a unique tie in method at the top, and a cut in to a header to accomodate the new entry doors. His tape and bed crew expertly smoothed out the seams and made everything look solid. His painters were able to skillfully match the texture of the existing walls. His carpet crew layed down and extra thick padded carpet and tightened the edges nicely.

They were prompt, courteous, and thoughtful. They tried to bother us as little as possible. The work was excellent.

Contractor arrived on time and completed the job quicker than estimated however had to come back because the wall was not textured evenly. The texture was uneven and splotchy. He did come back to next day and corrected the issue.
