My regular appliance repairman told me he can't work on LG washing machines because LG won't sell their parts to just anyone. One has to be LG certified or approved or something. So I called Carrollton Air Conditioning as I got their contact information from LG directly. They said they would come out Monday between 12 and 4. They said they charge just under $100 for the first hour and after that then the same for each additional hour plus parts. They said he would call me 30 mins before arrival. Monday at 3:30 I called them to confirm since I hadn't heard anything. The woman told me he's on a call not far from my house and will be headed to my house as soon as he's finished. At 6:30 I called the office again as I still hadn't heard anything. I had to then phone the emergency number as the office was closed. A man answered "hello". I had to ask if it was Carrollton AC since he answered as if he was answering his home phone. He confirmed and when I asked about my appt he seemed confused and reported that he would need to call me back after calling his office manager. He phoned back shortly saying he just finished a call and that he'd be at my house in 15 mins. He did arrive in 15 mins and took just over 30 mins to diagnose the problem. I really thought he would have the most common parts on his truck and would be able to fix the problem that visit, however he told me that they never carry any LG parts with them ever and that the part must be ordered. Then I would need to schedule a second visit later once the part comes in (2-3 days). So reality hits and I realize that regardless of how long it took to diagnose the problem and later fix the problem, I'm paying for a minimum of 2 hours of work AND it's going to be the end of the week at the earliest before the problem is fixed. The part was only $26.26 and it's a "bellows" that drains the tub. Tuesday I called the office to complain - first that he was 3hours late and second that I wish they had at least informed me that they would need to order parts. Every other time I've had appliances worked on, the repairman had the parts with him and I didn't have to wait. The woman on the phone was not apologetic at all. Instead, she told me all the reasons why they were late and said she just didn't know why whoever I spoke with on the phone before didn't tell me that parts would have to be ordered. She also told me that the repairman had yet another service call after mine - it was as if I owed them an apology. She also didn't seem to think they owed me a phone call to let me know they were running so late. In frustration, I told the woman I would be leaving poor feedback for the company on Angies List. She replied "That's fine". Then I told her I wanted to buy the part from them and have someone else install it (my regular appliance repairman who I found on AngiesList and love but isn't LG approved or whatever). Today is Friday and I received the part today from them. I phoned my appliance guy and he's coming out next week. Hopefully, Carrollton A/C did diagnose the problem properly.
