We needed to reupholster a 50 yr old large solid wing chair -- initially thought about getting a customer slipcover made (which Calico does) but once we finally decided on the fabric, we felt reupholstery was a better option (price is not significantly different). Calico worked with us over about two months making suggestions on fabrics and listening to our comments. We finally decided on a fabric and they computed the fabric needed (based on the size of the chair, the bias and design of the fabric, and took into account our desire to have several yards extra for future use. They have design services available but do not push them on you -- we had our own ideas and they patiently worked with us at our pace. Fabric was ordered (took about 4 weeks to come in) with 50% down. When fabric arrived they called to setup pickup of chair by their upholsterer. They arrived on time, took the chair. One week later (ahead of schedule) they called to setup delivery, again arriving on time. The craftsmanship was excellent and it turned out exactly as we wanted with all corners tight and material well fastened. Several days after the chair arrived, Calico called to see if we were satisfied and said they would run the credit card with the second part of the payment. It was a great experience. My only caution is that this is NOT a discount firm -- you pay a fair price for outstanding quality workmanship. I could have bought a new chair for the price we paid; however, the new chair would not have been a solid mahogany frame and wrapped springs -- this chair will last much longer than new ones would.

I were having a sale, we had 20% off on all our fabrics and another 20% or 25% on installation. They had a lot of fabrics to choose from. They had a designer come out and give me ideas and drew sketches for me on how things would look.
