C&W Appliance was recommended to me by Great Plains Appliance Parts as the only Sub Zero and Wolf certified appliance repair in the DFW area. I thought that meant I was getting superior service, quality repairs, and to the standards of Sub Zero ... however, that is definitely not what I experienced. The C&W service technician came to our home and reviewed each of our appliances which included a Sub Zero Refrigerator, Sub Zero Freezer, Wolf Range, Sub Zero Wine Fridge, and Sub Zero Ice Maker. The technician was surprised that our Wolf Range did not need any repairs, since the other appliances needed repair. Our plumbers were there at the same time and had installed a drain pump for the ice maker. The technician reviewed the pump with the plumber and myself and stated that it would work well with the ice maker. When the technician looked at our ice maker, he said that all it needed was some cleaning. The technician advised doing a full cleaning of our ice making and that after the cleaning cycle, it needed to run all night long. The service call alone cost me hundreds of dollars. The next day we discovered a nightmare! When I returned to the house, we had a massive leak from the ice maker that had gone throughout the kitchen and down into our basement destroying sheetrock, oak flooring, baseboards, and basement flooring. All because C&W did not plug in the drain pump and water overflowed. When I called C&W to find out what happened, they admitted they never tested the pump which was supposed to be part of the service because they said there was no water source at the site. However, there were 4 sinks with running water, as well as a hose just outside of the kitchen for them to fill up a cup of water and test the pump. Also, if there was no running water, how could they run the ice maker or even think of recommending it run all night long??? Since then C&W has been ignoring my calls. Every time I call the owner has already left for the day, did not come in, or is on vacation. I have left numerous messages. The two times that I did speak to the owner, Mr. Thompson, he said he wanted to make this right ... but did not think they had any fault. The sad thing is that I still have appliances I would like them to fix, but they won't even call me back. I was hoping we could resolve this issue, but it seems they think it is ok to damage customer's property and then ignore and deny their role in the damage. Do not use C&W Appliance unless you want things to be worse than before they came to service your appliances. They are inept, incapable, and just all around bad people for the damage they have done and their negligence in this matter. The worst part is that they refuse to accept responsibility for their mistakes! Mistakes happen, but dodging phone calls and not returning multiple messages is cowardly. Save yourselves and call somebody else for your appliance repair. Zero Stars!

Our 25 year old Sub-Zero was leaking onto our kitchen floor due to a broken icemaker and valve. We contacted these folks since they are authorized to make repairs on Sub-Zero appliances and they put us on their emergency call list and came out within about an hour. The service guy replaced the 25 year old icemaker and valve, the new icemaker is working and we no longer have a leak.

C & W is now the only authorized SubZero repair option in the metroplex. Professional company. Scheduled appointment quickly and arrived ahead of schedule. They determined that my old SubZero needed to be refurbished properly in order to last another decade. Proceeded to replace all major components and a few optional ones to make things better. An expensive repair, 1/5th the cost of a new SubZero, but alas, avoided a lot of hassle. Fridge returned to service quickly.

FANTASTIC. When I called, they were booked solid, but offered to put me on the emergency call list and then booked me for tomorrow just in case. I said OK and then called another provider. Within 10 minutes, Scott from C & W Appliances called and said he would be at my house in 30 - 45 minutes. So I called and cancelled the other appointment. Scott showed up, on time, and came prepared with the likely part needed and was able to fix my SubZero in a matter of 20 minutes. This was the best service experience I have had a long time. Thank you!

When I made the appointment, they quoted me $139.95 plus tax to clean the machine. When he finished after about an hour, the bill was $260.17. This included the "service charge" of $139.95 and another $50 labor and $50.89 in parts plus tax. They are crooks! When I called to complain, I asked what the $139.95 covered if not any of the labor or parts, and I was told that that was the standard "trip charge". I will NEVER use them again. THIS WAS A CLEAR "BAIT AND SWITCH".

Mr [Member Name Removed] I reiterate my statement to your BBB posting . I do regret the lack of articulation of our CSR or any misunderstanding you incurred . It is apparent this case involves one or the other .As you indicated in previous statement " Seems the $139.95 is the charge for driving to your home " This is accurate ,Our service Call is quoted at $139.95 plus parts and labor .We specialize in high end appliances and have been in the market for close to sixty years and have seen about every situation imaginable .Crooks , thieves ."bait and switch " terms rarely ever levied .We take pride in our motto of " do the right thing " In that spirit we are returning your $139.95 service call without contemplation or hesitance and thank you for the opportunity to stand behind our reputation .

They don't work on Thermador so we use Marathon for them. Even though he doesn't work on Thermador, he checked up the ignitor on our cooker and tweaked it and it has worked better since. We've been very happy. This is a 21 year old sub zero refrigerator, it was dying and they rehabilitated it and it has worked well ever since.

I had snaked the drain 2 times, and thought I had a problem with the washing machine b/c it was overflowing. the provider was up front about the trip change, which was high, $135.00. The workmen were on time and professional. they told me that it was not a problem with the washer at all, but with the plumbing. So I paid the trip charge, which I understood about, but did not receive any services. even though I knew about the trip change, I think that I'll use another service next time with a lower trip change. I did not receive any services at all, and with that in mind, $135 is just too high. Also, when I received my invoice, I notice that it had been filled out to receive a pump at $84.36, but then that had been scratched out when it was discovered that it was the plumbing, not the washer.....and that scratch out made me a bit unhappy. it was like they had decided that I needed a part even before they showed up.

I thank you for you input .I agree the trip charge does not seem to translate into a service perceived . As far as the pump notes are concerned ,we attempt to pre diagnose the problem prior to arriving as to be prepared in the event that is the problem and can address it on a single service call . Refrigerator was not staying cold. Technician diagnosed that the refrigerator evaporator coil was leaking on my 13 year old Sub Zero refrigerator. Technician also noticed frost on return line to freezer compressor. Said the system could possibly be overcharged with refrigerant. I had another repair service work on the freezer system a year prior (through my home warranty) and I think they did not do a proper job. Cand W technician was at my house to assess the problems on a Friday. I reviewed the repair quote over the weekend and called the technician on Monday morning at 8:00 am. He said the parts were available in their office and he could come out between 1 and 3 pm to make the repairs. That afternoon he replaced the refrigerator evaporator coil, drained the freezer refrigerant (which confirmed the former repair company overcharged it), and recharged both systems with new refrigerant. The work was done efficiently and with care. The work area was kept very clean and he also vacuumed all the dust off of the components above the refrigerator. I was very pleased.

When I contacted them 3 months ago to start the warranty work, I also asked them to take a look at the ice maker. The servicemen called the morning of the service and said they would be there in 30 minutes, they had initially told me they would give me a 2 hour time window. They arrived and started working on the refrigerator. They determined they did not have all the parts from the factory (not their fault) and ordered additional parts. When I asked about the ice maker, he said he had not looked at it but we would probably need to order parts. I asked what parts and how much. He said he would let me know. I never heard how much or which parts. I was instructed to call Cand W back to schedule service when I received the additional recall part. I called Cand W back the day I received the part. The lady that answered the phone said she would send over a request for someone to call be and make an appointment. Two weeks later and still nothing. So I called back...same result. I called back today and asked to speak to the service supervisor. I was called back by the owner. He informed me I would have to pay for the icemaker parts but was unable to give me a price. I told him he had lost my business for the ice maker and he would only be performing the recall work. He said that was not possible because he had ordered the part already. He said he performs roughly 95% of the repairs on Viking products in the DFW area and could not refer me to someone else.

Viking gas oven was making strange noises, and taking too long to bake. Service tech checked oven for function, including proper temperature. Said oven was working as intended, and that even though oven cycles off when preheating it might not be at desired temperature, and it could take up to 30 minutes to preheat properly. If that's the case, then Viking gas ovens are a joke. Bill for tech for 45 minutes to turn oven controls and watch thermometer in oven was $179. We were told charge for service call is $139, but it turns out that that only buys you 30 minutes, and it's $25 for every 15 minutes after that. That is unconscionable.

I called on the Oct 2nd and was able to schedule and appointment for Oct 4th. The technician arrived right on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a leaking evaporator coil. I already knew the fridge had a leak so that was not a surprise. He quoted me two prices for the repair; $1638 with compressor replacement or $1291 without. I went with the compressor replacement because the fridge is 19 years old and the marginal cost increase was a small price to pay for the added insurance. The tech had all of the parts on his truck and was able to complete the repair in less than two hours. He was very professional and didn't make a mess while doing the repair. The repair would had gone even quicker if I would have already had the fridge emptied before he arrived. Fortunately I have a second fridge that I was able to put everything in. Otherwise, I would have needed coolers to keep the food from spoiling. I probably could have gotten the work done more cheaply but not more professionally.

He was able to get to the root cause of the problem. There was also a minor issue he investigated with my Kitchen Aid refrigerator. There was a simple solution so he was able to fix that issue as well. He was very punctual. Called twice. Once, first thing in the morning to tell me a 2 hour window when he would arrive. He also called again when he was about 15 minutes from arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with this company again. excellent service.

On week 1 we scheduled a day for the technician to come out. He called the morning of to give us a 2-hour window. He called again to see if he could come early due to a cancellation (which was fine with us). He got here right when he said he would, donned shoe covers even though it wasn't muddy outside, and within 30 minutes had figured out the problem. He had to order a part and would plan to come back when they received the part. He ordered the part right away. On week 2, they called to say that the part had arrived and we scheduled a day for the (same) technician to come out. He called the morning of to give us a 2-hour window and then called 30 min prior to arrival (my request). He got here exactly when he said he would, donned shoe covers even though it wasn't muddy outside, and within an hour had replaced the part and had our washer working normally again. I'm pretty impressed. Our technician (I think his name was Austin) obviously knew his stuff. He came with a laptop which he used to measure ohms and amps and whatever other techie electrical stuff needed to be measured in order to diagnose the problem. He answered all of our questions and explained what we wanted him to explain. If all of their technicians are like this, Cand W is running a great company. Based on their website all of their technicians have to stay up to date on training materials, etc...especially given that all of our appliances are run by computer chips nowadays. We paid a one-time trip charge of $89, and then paid about $200 for the parts/labor when he came back to replace the part. The trip charge might be a bit high but it is totally worth it, as we got a technician who quickly diagnosed the problem and quickly got it fixed once the part was ordered. Another company might have taken weeks to figure it out, or may never have figured it out! Also, as a side note, we found out about Cand W Services through the store that we originally purchased the washer from (Texas Appliance in Arlington). I called Texas Appliance to ask if they could recommend a company that repairs appliances and without missing a beat, the man on the phone right away said and quot;Cand W Servicesand quot; and gave me their phone number right off the top of his head. I'm so happy we've found our appliance service company!
Description of Work: Diagnosed a problem with our front-loading washing machine, which would randomly not go into a high-speed spin. It turned out that the door lock wasn't transmitting the proper electrical signals during every cycle, so the machine wouldn't go into the high-speed spin (a safety feature - if the door isn't reading "locked", the machine won't spin). The technician ordered the defective part, and scheduled another day to come back to replace it. One week later, the washer was completely repaired and has been running perfectly.

Wow - these guys fixed a Sub-zero ice maker that had broken. All good. The above and beyond was when he noticed that my Thermador refrigerator was very noisy. I had previously had the Thermador rep out 4 times to fix the noise to which he finally recommended changing out the compressor. However, the Cand W rep noticed it and offered to really clean out the dust and dirt underneath. It's been perfect since! These guys truly went above and beyond! Customer for life.

When I scheduled service, the person on the phone said a technician would call me to set up a window. We got off to a bad start when I got a call stating that the service provider would be there between 9:30 and 11:30, before I could get home. They started work while I was away, and called to tell me it would be about 800 dollars. This included a part still under warranty on our subzero, and 470 dollars for 1-1.5 hours of work. When I got home, they had everything from my refrigerator sitting on the counter. I can understand that...although that's one of the reasons I wanted to be there for service. When they started loading the very warm milk, eggs, etc. back into the refrigerator, I wasn't happy. The service person told me at 50 degrees, the food was already spoiled. I have a hard time understanding why they would attempt to reload the food after it sat out in the 75 degree house for 30 minutes to an hour. The refrigerator is cold now, and I'm not unhappy with the actual work. The customer service on the other hand left something to be desired. Bottom line: I normally expect more when I spend $800 for 2 hours. I won't rule them out for future repairs, because I'm hoping this was just a bad example of their work.
