We have been with BFS for 7 years now and have really been happy with our interactions and the service provided. The techs (usually we see Loren or Damon) are very professional, careful, and thorough. Often, they'll show us ways to fix or maintain our appliances to help reduce the need for bigger repairs in the long run. Brandy, who answers the phone, is very pleasant, helpful and easy to work with. TJ, the manager, is very kind and professional. When we had to replace our lemon of a refrigerator, he went over our options and the pro-rated reimbirsement process. During the height of summer and freak weather (cold snaps or high winds), wait times for non-urgent repairs can be longer, as people who lose heat or A/C will be bumped to the front of the line (as they should be). We have never waited more than 5 days for a repair and when our main A/C unit went out, they arrived the next day. Being patient, outlining your problem clearly and succinctly and not getting fired up if you can't get next-day service will go a long way in helping with your satisfaction. These guys are really good at what they do but they can only be in one place at a time. Our warranty plan has paid for itself every year and the service we get through BFS beats the manufacturers' extended warranties hands down.

Rodney at BFS was so unprofessional. We placed in a service call on Wednesday for a toilet repair and they scheduled us for Friday afternoon. My husband took half day off to be home for the service tech. The service tech pulled up on Friday evening and didn't knock or ring the bell. Instead he left a note saying " Sorry we missed you". So the next day we called BFS and spoke to Rodney and described what happened on Friday. Instead of apologizing he was very rude and was unwilling to accommodate us the same day on their schedule.

They have a Silver service plan which will repair your appliances. We have the Gold package that will replace the appliances, if necessary. It is so nice to have the security of knowing that they will be here really quick. They have even come in off hours. I am extremely happy with their service. We have been with them for a number of years.

I have used them for many years. This particular visit went okay. Previous visits were between okay and nightmare-ish. The only reason I stay with them is that no matter how many times they have to come back to fix something, they still come back. I have heard that most companies of this nature are a bear to deal with so I've stuck with BFS because their price is fair. I chose the $0 deductible option. My house is 4500 sf with three a/c units that inevitably go out every summer and I pay $650 a year. Not too bad when you consider how much it would cost to fix all three every year.
Description of Work: Broward or BFS, as they call themselves, replaced the upstairs condensor fan motor run capacitor on my outside unit.

I have yet to see BFS fix the conventional oven. This issue has been open for nearly a month and promises but no action from BFS to have this fixed. I hope someone in this company is reading this review to change things around at BFS. For now, I just can't recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: Hi, The biggest plus for BFS is the fact that they don't have a deductible. That is where things stop. I have followed up with the Dallas Office at least calling them between 5 to 7 times on several different times asking for an update - but things keep slipping time and again. The fan on my conventional oven has been continuously running since June 20th and so far (July 19th) this issue is still OPEN. If BFS really feels that their company technicians (as advertized) have an edge over others, why are they not able to fix this issue quickly? After giving them the model # and the Serial # of the unit multiple time, they had to come over again to just note it down this information after 2 weeks of logging the issue! In addition to this, one of the representatives at BFS, Ronnie keeps promising to call me back on the status of this issue 3 consecutive times and I haven't yet received a call. It is extremely frustrating to deal with this company.

Overall, Stan was prompt, efficient and provided some good information. He's very anti-heat pump, so we listened to his arguments which didn't make us change our minds one bit.The model Skip quoted us was a 16 SEER Goodman, 3 ton with a cooling capacity of 36,000(Not sure where he got that number). When we compared his bid for the 16-SEER with the added duct-work of $1200, we can just over what our favorite A/C guy quoted us. Based on this, combined with the 'twig trick', we are declining getting them to service or replace our unit.
Description of Work: The was the 4th A/C guy we've had come over to discuss replacing our existing system. This system (circa 1982) fails to cool well and it's just time for a new one. We know we need all new ducts, and are considering changing to a heat pump type system based on the few very cold days we've had in years passed. Skip called prior to his arrival and was very much on time. He examined the inside unite, the outside unit and did a perfunctory peek into the attack, as we need all new ducts! We did stress how the current A/C is cooling the attic and the garage better than it does our bedroom even. He said we could get the A/C this week, BUT they don't do duct instillation until the FALL! I asked what was the point of putting a high-energy system in with ducts that are broken and leak. I told him no sense upgrading our current model to cool the entire attic and garage and he said 'hrmmmmmm good idea'.........?? The current fan outside was making this weird noise, like ping ping ping....he took my husband out to show him if he raised the little grated cover a bit, the noise abated. Told hubby he had some rubber washers and was going to put those in. We noticed a different sound, so we went out to inspect these new washers......guess what we found.....yup, 3 TWIGS propping up the outer case to decrease the rattling noise....can't even do what he promises here! Overall, they're a decent company when it comes to non HVAC stuff - they consider that their forte and won't negotiation with you about this type of product at all. Quite frankly, we're considering cancelling our contract with BFS when it's up for renewal in August.

I cannot possibly say enough positive things about BFS. They went above and beyond in their service, pricing and professionalism. If I could rate them higher than an A in all categories, I would. This is the most honest heating and A/C servicing company I've ever dealt with.
Description of Work: I had my entire furnace replaced and a new air intake vent installed.
