Description of Work: Doug from Bold Roofing gave us a quote and was to then follow up to assist us with repairs to our roof, which didn't qualify to be replaced. Our disappointment with Doug was in the way he failed to follow up and complete the work he promised to do. This was at a very busy time for Doug and Bold and we were a very small repair job in a market that reflected many, many full replacements. However Doug's follow up was poor, at best, and his professionalism was unacceptable. I'm sure Bold Roofing would do a good job if yours is worth their time and effort. Ours wasn't and Doug should have removed himself, his outside business and Bold from the situation and feferred us to someone else. As it turned out, we found someone via Angie's List who was very helpfull and did an excellent job.

Description of Work: I have an old roof and it needs replacing. Back in March 2011 a couple salesmen knocked on my door and said they could get me a new roof due to recent hail damage so I took their advice and we started the claim process that day. Long story short the claim was denied and my insurance company demanded I paint my house or face cancellation. I wasn't happy but had my house painted. So I get another call from Paul Hart, Bold Roofing the day after I finished painting early May 2011 and he said this time they could get me a new roof...filed another claim for the recent storms mid April and was approved. I googled Bold Roofing in the meantime and found some very bad reports so decided to get more bids from other companies. Paul Hart started calling me every day the end of May....he called 13 times in a two week period...even called on Memorial Day.... I have 2 layers, comp over wood shake and no decking and asked him who would be cleaning up what fell in my attic and he wouldn't commit to cleaning it up....also asked for a written bid and he said whatever was on the insurance estimate was their bid. I mentioned some poor reports on Bold Roofing on google and told him he should check them out.. The reports indicated Bold Roofing doesn't follow up on problems very well if at all. I told him I hadn't made up my mind and would get back to him. He called 2 days later ...and again I asked for the written bid and he said I already had it...I asked to have it faxed and he declined. When I asked about the debris that would probably fall in my attic he finally said he would have one of his guys clean it up. The calls were relentless and became increasingly unprofessional. The last conversation we had I requested the same thing I had been requesting and was ignored so I hung up. He called back and said he didn't understand....All I wanted was a written bid with detailed information on the specifications and exactly what materials etc were going to be used as well as who was responsible for clean up etc....all the other bids from the other roofers contained that information so there are no issues on who's responsible for what. I was married to a roofer 30 yrs ago and understand the business more than most. I ended up having to call block his phone number. Will not do business with that kind of company and will not recommend them to anyone else either.
