Horribly. I called AspenMark and a sales rep came to our home and did the measurements and took pictures, etc. When I asked about the time frame, the rep told me that he was having an operation in two weeks to remove his kidney to give to his brother, but he would be back at work by the time the insurance company responded to their bid. "Joe" said he would put the numbers together and contact me in the next two days to give me the bid. When he called back he said the insurance company's measurements were wrong and that they had missed several items. He said he would be sending a bid to my insurance company and I asked that he email me a copy. I didn't hear back from him by the end of the week and so over the course of several days I texted, called, and emailed him but did not receive a response. I then called the main office who said they were waiting for "Joe" to submit the bid, along with his pictures. Two or three days later, I received his bid via email with the information that AspenMark was submitting it to the insurance with a request for additional money for the claim. I waited 3 weeks or so to contact Joe because he told me that he would be off for about 3 weeks following the surgery.; however, I texted, emailed, and attempted to call several times, but did not hear back from him. I called the main office again and asked where we were in the process and they said they would have "Joe" call me. Joe texted me and said that my insurance had approved the additional expenses and that he could come out that evening with the contract and get the first payment from us. However, I had several questions about the contract and wanted to have a sit-down meeting. Joe texted me back and asked if we could do it over the phone since he did not have doctor’s release to drive (apparently, he was ok to drive if it involved money). So, I texted him back when I was available to talk over the phone- no response. I called him several times over the next two days, but his voicemail was always full. I also emailed, but no response. I thought that Joe was having a difficult recovery time so I called the main office and asked to be reassigned to another rep. A new rep and his supervisor came over to my house to go over the contract. Somehow, the amount for the roof replacement was increased by about $5,000 and it did not include the fence repair. The bottom line was that we were being asked to pay around $9,000 which included our deductible of $2500 and the quality of the shingle was not the one the first rep bid on. I kept going over the numbers with them because I couldn't figure out why the cost was so much more than "Joe's" bid. To make a long story short (too late, I know), we did not do business with them. I think their behavior was reprehensible and a total waste of many many hours. After my meeting with them, I called my insurance representative who said that the only out-of-pocket amount should be my $2500 deductible. He was dumbfounded that, after approving AspenMark's bid for an additional $5,000-6,000 over the original estimate, that they would ask for more money from me. I would not recommend AspenMark to my worst enemy.

They did an excellent job. I even had some shingles blow off from the wind, and they came back and corrected the issue at no charge. The warranty work has been great with them. That's the thing I think they did best which was to come back to do service after the sale. I really appreciated that follow up. They are a very good company.

Sean showed up on time and did the job professionally. So far, I haven't had any leaks. I had shown the problem with some other roofing company. Not only were their estimates higher, the probable cause was also different from what Sean had said.

I had 3 or 4 blown off shingles at the apex of the roof, pitch 6/12 so not terrible. Some other shingles had lost their adhesive from constant rain and wind. I panicked and called using the best contractor list that we get twice a year in the mail (bad idea) The roofer showed up on time, nice young guy, he informed me that the charge would be $350 and that it would take 30 minutes, I was really shocked at the price, and he had to call his manager to get me a better price. The manager said they would knocked it down $50, but they would not inspect the rest of the roof or glue anything else beside the reported shingles. I agreed even I was convinced it was way too much. The roofer was done in 20 minutes, and the shingles looked like a match. By the time the roofer left, the builder's roofer returned my call and offered to do the same work for $150....
Description of Work: Repair/replace some 5 blown out shingles, glue and nail loose shingles. The tech spent less than 20 minutes on the roof. They called it emergency repairs fee. Way over priced, now when I get the local best contractors guide I take it straight to the trash can.

Difficult to recommend a contractor with such poor communication standards. Update: I see little in the response which directly contradicts my experience, and what does differ does not impact the facts as I documented them. I cannot be certain of whether the details in the response (immutable third party software logging/multiple attempts at contact) are true, though I responded to all communication of which I was aware. An offer to continue the appointment within 30 minutes was not made (we do agree contact happened within minutes of the scheduled time). Perhaps an offer would have been extended had I not told them I would find other options. In the aftermath, I proposed options for a rescheduled visit, but for whatever reasons, such a meeting was not agreed to prior to an appointment scheduled with another company. Finally, my opinion based upon the facts: Ultimately, I had fair expectations which were not met by this company's representatives. If you want a company which can reference time stamps and communicate quickly after the fact, this company is for you. If you want a company which puts a focus on customer experience and values commitments to that customer ahead of internal meetings, my advice is to look elsewhere. A mutually beneficial relationship was very much possible prior to the communication and service failures, and any regret should relate solely to those facts.
Description of Work: Nothing. After first contact promising a callback to schedule a time within 3 business days, I'd heard nothing, so I called again. 24 hours later, I received an appointment. 8 minutes after the scheduled appointment, I received a text message that due to an internal meeting, my appointment would not be possible.

Response from Aspenmark Roofing Solutions LLC
We agree with the customer’s position regarding expectations of contact and service standards. However, our records account for a differing version of events. We honestly acknowledged the appointment delay and offered to continue with the appointment within a 30 minute window. Timestamps in the file, unable to be altered as this is a third-party software system, show that the consultant made numerous attempts at an initial contact and that the appointment contact was made within minutes of the scheduled time; contrary to the complaint and within the promised service standards. Ultimately, a business relationship would not have proven mutually beneficial and regret the customer’s negative position towards our company.

Our rep, Tom Herman, was very professional and respectful of our preferences and constraints. He was there from quote to completion. He found things the insurance company had not and had them covered by them. The crew that installed the roof was very efficient and took great care to protect our plants and outdoor furniture. They completed the work in a day and had it all cleaned up. We have a dog so that a primary concern. They were just as efficient after putting the roof back together after the AC puncture was fixed. The verification process was very thorough and some minor adjustments were made. We received our certification from the shingle manufacturer without and hick-ups.
Description of Work: Aspenmark replaced our roof and gutters, and repaired the wood on our chimney. When our AC line was punctured, he worked with the AC guy to have a hole cut in our newly installed roof and then worked with the insurance to have it covered.

Sloppy workmanship. Numerous mistakes. No regard for the appearance of the roof. Damage caused to HVAC vent stacks, which had to be replaced at my expense. Liquid tar dripped into the mechanical closet. Replacing the vents which were sliced up, was $343.00 at my expense, by a separate HVAC contractor. Approximately an additional 1,200.00 in costs, to me, replacing drip edge, cleaning tar off the drip edges, trimming flaps of roofing material which drooped over the sides of the roof. Fabricating sheet metal covers for ugly areas. What I suggest is if you consider using Aspenmark Roofing, you had better know exactly what kind of roof you want. You also need to be on site every minute the installation is going on. You have to constantly ask questions. And, most importantly, don't assume, just because your salesman or project manager has on a shirt, with the Aspenmark's logo on it, that they are full time employees of Aspenmark, and not freelance contract labor. In the third month of trying to get the repairs made by Aspenmark, and getting little satisfaction, I asked the owner of Aspenmark, by certified letter, to at least come and look at the roof. He ignored the letter and didn't contact me. The roof Aspenmark Roofing put on my house is a sound roof, and it keeps the water out, but the project was time consuming, frustrating, unprofessional, expensive and was never finished properly. The total time involved reached from March to June, when Aspenmark Roofingstarted dunning me for the final payment, even though the roof still needed cosmetic attention.. On June 24th I paid the invoice in full, just to be rid of them. If you are considering using Aspenmark Roofing, and want to discuss the process with me, I will be happy to talk with you and show you the progress photographs of the job. Kenn Berry

There is nothing that could have been improved upon. The process of dealing with insurance and the actual roof replacement was explained thoroughly. The estimate was explained in detail. The communication was always good/prompt. The actual service was fast and professional. The workmanship was great. Clean up ... They left the yard better than they found it.
Description of Work: Our roof was replaced due to hail damage. The extra challenge was a patio cover that rests on the roof. Aspenmark (Tom) handled the challenge wonderfully. This was a big stressor for me, but Tom helped put me at ease and left the patio cover better than he found it!

Estimate on entire roof replacement on 43 year old home I just purchased which had some leaking evident by a tarp over a portion of the roof covering the garage at time of purchase. I worked with Aspenmark first from a positive referral from my insurance agent who has used them for years now. Entire roof re-shingle estimate was highest of 3 estimates I got, but referral from a trusted source and customer service I got was top notch. Due to cost, I asked for a repair estimate only. I was then very pleased as their repair estimate was the cheapest of the 3 repair estimates I got , not by much, but indeed the least expensive of them all. Since I already felt good about this company, getting a very fair priced estimate resulting in me hiring them for the work. The work was performed quickly after I signed the estimate, the workers were timely and showed me what they were doing, explaining their process then completing it in a timely manner.

I spoke with Randy Moriak by phone on Wednesday. I agreed to take off work and be available to provide access after 1:00 PM. I waited for 4.5 hours on Thursday afternoon. Nobody ever came by, and nobody called to reschedule. I followed up, through the management company, and was told Aspenmark would be out Friday afternoon after 2:00 PM. I had not seen anyone by 4:00 PM, so I followed up again. I was told they were just "15 minutes away". It is now 5:00 PM and nobody has come by, and nobody has called. I strongly suggest you find a company that will actually honor their arrangements (or at least call if they need to cancel).

It went beautifully and I wish I had gone with them for my roofing. I chose another roofer whose recommendations for replacing my roof matched what I had in mind. However, the roofing company I chose turned out to be an administrative nightmare. Looking back on it I realize that Aspenmark (my runner up by a nose) was more efficient and had everything in well-summed up, informative packages. I'm sure they would have done what I wanted without a problem, if I'd only talked to them about it.

They had done the Unit beside mine, So I had already decided I would go with them to keep it consistant. I was told I would get a call back next week with the esitmate. There had been a hail storm in Prosper, so give them extra time. I never got a call or email, with the estimate. I should have called them, but I felt as if they did not want the job, or they would have followed up.

Aspenmark was one of the many roofers out in our neighborhood the day after a really bad hail and wind storm. Many homes had extensive roof damage and required temporary patching until insurance adjustors could arrive. Unlike most of the other roofers circulating, Aspenmark agreed to patch my roof without requiring me to pay anything or sign a contract. They just asked that I allow them to be on-site when my insurance adjuster arrived. The insurance process took a few weeks, but Aspenmark helped me understand the process and assisted with filing a supplement request to the original insurance estimate to cover shingle cost increases. Once authorized, Aspenmark performed the work as promised and did high-quality work.

After an adjuster from our insurance (USAA) completed his survey, he said one of two roofers would be assigned the claim. We didn't have to use them, but USAA recommended them and worked closely with them. We checked and both companies had good Angie's List ratings. I got a phone call from Jerod, sales manager for Aspenmark, who made an appointment to come by and talk. He checked the roof, went over the insurance company estimate, and we talked about his company's record. My wife and I elected to go with the company, based on their record and the implied USAA recommendation. Jerod brought sample shingles by, we made a choice and signed a work order. The work was initially scheduled for a Thursday and Friday. No workmen on Thursday. I called mid-morning and they'd been held up. But they could start on Friday and finish on Monday. I asked them to do it Monday and Tuesday, and they agreed. Materials were delivered to our back driveway on Sunday--and again on Monday AM (The driver with the extras was persuaded to take them back). A crew showed up Monday AM and began working. I looked for a project manager or supervisor--none. The workmen were nice, seemed to know what they were doing (although my Spanish is only rudimentary, and I was never sure we were on the same wavelength), but I was concerned, for example, about the placement of our wind turbines, and no one seemed sure of the details. Besides which, they hadn't delivered enough of the turbines. About ten hours after the project began, after several phone calls to Jerod, the project manager, Corey, showed up. Of course, he sat in his car at the curb with the a/c running, talking on his phone, and I didn't even know he was there until a couple of hours had passed. Continued miscommunication with the workers, and Corey stayed on his cell phone--saying he was trying to getting things straightened out (like their sending two different colors of wind turbines). The men worked until almost dark, and after I requested it they swept the driveway so we could safely put our cars in the garage. They returned the next AM and went to work. Corey said he'd be there early. He came two hours after they started work, and again sat in his car, a/c going, and this time with a sun shade over the window to protect from the sun! One worker chopped the hole for the wind turbine right over a structural support beam in the attic, and I had to get Corey out of his car to check on it. He made a call and said, "It's okay." The workers cleaned things up well and left. We had a serviceman come out to re-adjust our satellite dish (which they ahd removed). Four hours later, after he replaced a sensitive part that was damaged when they left the dish dangling against the side of the house overnight, we had reception. By then another worker had shown up with the last two wind turbines (right color), installed them, and after a few phone calls hauled off the excess material. I'd had trouble seeing any supervisor around the job, but just a few hours after it was complete, Corey showed up for payment. I'd asked four or five times for a breakdown of how my deductible could be handled, and was always told that Corey would have those details. He knew nothing. I called the office and worked out details, putting the balance on my VISA. Did they do a good job? The finished roof looks great. Did I feel like I had to be constantly aware of what was going on for a day and a half? Absolutely. Do I think Jerod was a salesman and Corey's main job was to collect? Seems like it. Would I use them again? Probably not.

They actually didn't give me a quote but they indicated that they would do it for exactly the amount that the insurance agreed to pay. The gentleman was very informative and very honest. He was very knowledgeable about their product and how to approach.

When it came down to hire a roofing contractor, I did go with somebody else who had a better reputation on Angie?s List and was a little bit cheaper. I would definitely recommend Aspenmark Roofing Solutions though. I thought they were good and I liked the guy there. They didn?t make me feel bad but it was just a matter choosing between 2 good companies. The one thing I really liked about them is, a lot of contractors talk about an agreement, but they didn?t ask for anything like that. They didn?t ask for any sort of unusual commitment. If u wasn?t so poorly insured, which I now found out since the storm hit, I would have probably gone with them. They would have probably done a slightly better job. I felt like I had a choice between a job that would have been a lot of money out of the pocket with slightly better work and a job that was not a lot of money out of the pocket but still gave above average work. I frankly liked the guy better than the guy that I hired. I felt like they were equally reputable.
Description of Work: Aspenmark Roofing Solutions gave me an estimate about 2 weeks ago. There was a big storm that moved to the area and did some water damage to the roof so they did some emergency tarp work on my house.
