Matt was excellent. He called on his way to our house and was there during the 2-hour window time frame that was scheduled. We really appreciated the small time block. He spent about 2 hours completing the work and even fixed a problem we didn't know we had. Matt was very thorough and just a nice young man to work with. He was missing a part and agreed to come out again to complete the work without the mandatory time charge.
Description of Work: We had multiple missing sprinkler heads and a pressure issue in one of the zones.

Description of Work: I was put off at least five times before the job was complete, my biggest complaint. My other complaint is the supprise of the cost of the job, however the company indicated they were competitive with other company.....I choose them because of Anglie's list (should be cheaper, right?)

The city of Frisco provides an irrigation specialist to residents free of charge. I asked the specialist to come out and inspect the my new Rainbird sprinkler system and help program the smart controller according to my lawn's needs. The specialist was MOST IMPRESSED with the AquaMax's work and repeatedly complimented the system & coverage. We couldn't be happier. Thank you AquaMax!

Overall I washighly satisfied, te crew cleaned uo after they were done and the yard looked like it did before they got started.
Description of Work: I received a new irragation system. This was the second date scheduled because the crew did not show up for the initial Saturday appointment. The crew leader came over and installed the control box in the garage even the his crew called him. I was very happy with the service once they came back out abd installed the system. I would highly recommend Aqua.

This was a good experience. They installed the new controller quickly, cleaned up all the mess and set the zones to run as I asked.
Description of Work: Put in a new 7 station controller and checked irrigation heads. Was a little pricey but the technician Matt Mullen was very informative and I may have them come back to install an around the house irrigation rather than having to run soaker hoses this summer. He said it would require adding another zone and be approximately $900. Just couldn't invest that much right now. Definately would recommend

During initial "tune-up" which is just an evaluation of how your existing is performing, it was determined there were three major leaks leftover from a tree/stump removal and re-build of a retaining wall. The technician was to return (a week later) at 9 AM on Friday March 15th at 9 AM to repair the three leaks (the agreed upon work scope) and then we together would evaluate if additional work was required. The technician showed up on Friday, but stating he was sick and did not call me because he did not have my phone number (???). We rescheduled for Monday at 9 AM and he assured me he would have an assistant with him on the next visit. He arrived Monday at 11:30 (LATE) with no excuse and no assistant. Work began, however, I noticed he was working on sprinklers heads, not the leaks we had agreed upon and he was working VERY slow. As well, he took 30 minutes out of my time to visit with our neighbor who also has a leak. At the end of three hours (4 hours scheduled) one leak was fixed with a hole left in the ground, another large hole dug at the location of the second leak and three or four sprinkler heads replaced. The second leak was not fixed, just a hole dug. At this time, the tech wanted to leave for the day and return FIVE days later. This was totally unacceptable as I had explained on March 8th, the original date of the "tune-up" that I needed the work completed as soon as possible due to an upcoming vacation. After several delays and incomplete work by a very slow technician and $475 later, with another $500+ of additional work estimated, we decided we had hired the wrong company and canceled all additional work. We took the advice of another Angie's List client who had similar issues with this company, as I later learned after digging further into the reviews, and called Fellows Irrigation in McKinney. My husband spoke to them on Tuesday morning, they arrived at 3 PM on the same day, fixed the two additional leaks, plus a fourth one found, spent an additional hour at my request trying to determine why one zone would not work (which was a cut wire) and replaced two sprinkler heads for $299 (they are $100 per hour). We also discussed the need for a new timer... one was on the truck and was installed within 30 minutes and I was trained how to program it for $359. I would highly recommend Fellows Irrigation. They are reputable, timely and they know their stuff! My Yelp Ratings Distribution for 241 reviews is as follows: 5 Stars - 51 4 Stars - 75 3 Stars - 50 2 Stars - 37 1 Star - 28 Unfortunately, Aquamax is one of my 1 Star reviews; however, as you can see I am more than fair and positive for the majority of my Yelp reviews. They are not "judgements" as Aquamax's owner has suggested, but my honest review of the experience. If you provide me with a negative or less than pleasant experience I will pass that information on in hopes that I spare someone else the same. It is this "honesty" that we as homeowners depend upon today to guide us to the right vendor for our jobs. As far as promoting Fellows Irrigation in my review of Aquamax, it is interesting and somewhat funny that I got the recommendation for Fellows from another reviewer of Aquamax who was also not pleased with their service. This has also brought to my attention that I never completed a review for Fellows on Angie's List, which I will promptly correct. Thank you.

Response from Aquamax Sprinkler Systems
I don't even know where to start with all the inaccuracies. As for as my tech being sick, he was. He had a stroke.Jobs are scheduled with a range of time not exact times. He was there within the range, The job was done correctly. Her husband took the tech over to the neighbors to look at his yard. My tech did not charge the the time going over there. She never expressed any concerns with my tech over the job done. She scheduled a return visit which she cancelled. She never once called me or anyone at my company to complain or express her concern, which I find odd. Why she would promote another company in one of my reviews is suspicious at best. When I tried to contact her about this with the number that we set the original appmt. with I could not reach her. The man that answered said she did not live there but we were able to schedule an appmt. with her at this number a week before. I think this lady lives to judge people ( correctly or incorrectly ). She has over 230 judgements of companies on yelp ( including us ). You should read some. Then you can be the judge.

I have very good things to say about Aquamax Sprinkler System. I called them and they came here to give me the estimate. When I compared their prices to others, they had very good prices. They were very professional. We went around and he told me exactly what he's going to do. They also replaced the controller of my sprinkler system to match the extra stations that I needed for the soaker hoses. We set a time for them to come. They came on that day. They installed it. I was at home and didn't even hear them. They just went around and did a good job. A couple of days after they finished, I thought that something was not working, so I called them and they immediately came here. The guy showed me how it's working and to check it was very professional and showed me how to check the system and assured me that everything was working. We checked it together. It's been working since then. I never had any more problem with it. They are a really good company. I highly recommend them.

Very good experience for new sprinkler install. Fair price and timely installation which were high on my list. One added service i requested was priced right but a second one was not so we passed. See above. We were very satisfied.
Description of Work: We had a sprinkler problem that my husband couldn't fix. Every time our sprinklers were on, sand and soil would ooze from under our front sidewalk in a couple places along with water, and sprinkler heads nearby weren't working properly. We thought the two problems were somehow connected but they weren't. After fixing the front sprinkler heads, the guys at Aquamax figured out that the "root" of the problem was actually a long ways away from the sand-- large tree roots close to the house had broken a sprinkler head there, and water had been running out of the broken pipe, underground and downhill to where it oozed out with the sand by the front walk. We never would have figured it out on our own. These guys were great and they worked quickly to fix the problem. The price was less than what I expected as well!

To be as fair as possible, I will attempt to avoid judgment calls (other than the ratings) and simply present the facts of my experience. My goal is to arm consumers ? not impugn or assail businesses or individuals. Our sub-division had its roads resurfaced. The work damaged my sprinkler heads and pipes along the road. I needed to get the work done quickly to submit a bill before the HOA paid for the roadwork. I also had 4 stations that didn?t work NOT associated with the road. For full disclosure, I must state that I have about 1 acre of irrigated lawn ? 18 stations. I did not volunteer this info (ignorant of its importance) nor was I asked. Due to excellent Angie?s List (and BBB) ratings, I called Aquamax. Appointment was for Friday (8/22) between 11:30 and 1:30. Tech arrived at 1:15. Spent about 15 minutes trying to get the system to run ? explaining I probably had a lightning strike that ?took out? my whole controller. He also tried to convinmce me that the power transformer wasn't hooked up, so of course it wouldn't work. I found a fault light on a rain sensor mounted beside the controller and pushed the button. Problem solved. He ran a quick test of all stations and determined 7, 10, 16 and 17 had issues. He attacked the road damage first. He spent some time (I guess about 30 minutes) digging to find the pipe break. He determined (accurately) that the damage was too extensive for manual digging, and they would need to bring a trencher out. He went on to fix the solenoid for station 16 (I showed him its location) and, unbeknownst to me, I had a master valve solenoid leak that he also fixed (it was physically beside the station 16 valve, though in a different box). He was quite confused that the master valve did not appear to connect to the controller. He next tried station 7. To set up his wire locator, he needed to borrow a wire stripper from me. After setting everything up, he failed to find the valve box for #7, due to getting too much interference from something underground (a power line?). He said the ?trencher? team would have a better locator tool than his, which wasn?t that good. Another fruitless 20 minutes. Using the locator, he found and repaired a wire break for #10 but, upon testing, it still didn?t work. He then found the valve box for #10, but had to dig it out to access the solenoids. This is where he figured out that the master valve (which didn?t go to the controller) needed to be manually opened (kudos for thinking of it!). But, I paid to have a box located, dug up, and replaced unnecessarily. The MV could have been tested with any ?known good? station. The tech had already spent far more time than normal, so he was running late getting to the next client. And, his cell phone was broken so he couldn?t contact anyone. He spent time looking for #17 but never found it, nor did he use the wire locator. He just looked in two valve boxes that I told him would not have it (as #17 was an ADDED station some years after the original install). At MY request, he finished by spending about 10 minutes to try to locate an underground power wire. I appreciated his willingness to undertake this extra effort, and realize it?s only fair that I get billed for that time, even though it was not fruitful. So, the summary is 3.75 hours, a bill for $461.99, and I still had all the road crew damage and 2 stations not functioning. What I got was a solenoid replaced that I pointed out, one that needed to be found & fixed, and a MV leak fixed. BUT, the valve box he had dug up and reinstalled was now about 1-2? above grade, and the hole he dug for the wire he fixed was never filled back in. Not sure why I paid the bill then. Guess I believe the best for people. He told me that I had to call to schedule another visit. Don?t know why. So I called Monday morning and set up Wed (9/27) somewhere between 9:30-11:30. Got a call Wed morning? ?Would you believe it, our truck broke down?? I believed it. Probably shouldn?t have. Set another appt. for Sat (9/1) at 9:30. Sat morn at 8:30 I got a call from the original tech. He said the trench crew wasn?t available, and they couldn?t dig anyway as they did not do a ?buried cable? assessment. So, he would come and do the job manually. I mentioned that his wire locator couldn?t find my #7 solenoid. His reply ? ?Oh yeah, I forgot about that.? I called the company contact number (about 9am) and explained I really needed to get the job done. He (Andy) said he would pull a crew off another job and they would be here within 2 hours (about 11am). At 5pm I got a call from a different tech that told me she was on another call but I was next in line, if there was any time left. She would call me either way. As of today (10/22), that was my LAST communication with Aquamax. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! That evening (Labor day weekend!) I called Fellows Irrigation. First thing Tuesday morning they called back and I expressed my urgency ? got an appt. for 11am that morning. Got a call at about 11:15 to let me know they (a team of TWO) would be about 30 minutes late. They arrived at noon. They located and fixed a couple broken pipe sections along the road, but discovered that the ?new? road was skewed from the old one, and now ran over my pipes. They said they would need a trencher, and would be back the next day about 4. Then they found and fixed a head that had been completely ripped out by the road crew. Total time ? under an hour. NO BILL (yet). Wednesday at 4:03 they rolled up! They trenched and installed about 30 feet of new pipe and added a head, disconnected the old pipe/head from the system, and spliced in the new. Also found & repaired another break in the same section of pipe that was not as obvious as the big breaks. Gave me a bill (which I needed for the HOA). He told me they would try to ?fit me in? the next day for the remaining issues. Billed for 2 hours + parts + service call. Quite fair. Got a call Thursday at 1pm from the main office to tell me they could NOT make it, but scheduled me for 11am Friday. Friday at 11:10 they were here. Found and fixed station 7 very efficiently. In the process, they found a valve that was buried WITHOUT a valve box/access panel, although it was working. They added a box for future access. Then they located valve #17 ? AGAIN a valve buried without a box. They replaced the solenoid and added a box. In the process they figured out (but I didn?t want to pay for fixing) why my master valve didn?t go to the controller. Then they filled in the holes that Aquamax had left, and dug up and reinstalled the box Aquamax had left above grade. Then they helped me find 2 bubblers on #17 that were buried. They left at about 12:30. Total time (over 3 days) to effect repairs and do much more ? 3.25 hours. If you have a simple system and you think it can be repaired in 2 hours, Aquamax may be a good solution. It?s highly unlikely I?ll ever use them again. If they tell you they need to come back, I suggest you not pay them at that time. Also, if you have a large system, you might want to be there as a ?helper? for the tech. Don?t know how much I saved by running the controller for him. In closing, the Aquamax phone guy (Andy) was VERY polite, and the tech certainly understood the nature of sprinkler technology. Any facts included that appear to indicate otherwise have been miscommunicated. My problems are 1) sending a single tech to a large job, 2) inadequate tools, and 3) having no desire to finish the ?hard? part of the job ? all resulting in inefficiencies for which I had to pay, and a job left undone.
Description of Work: What I needed: 4 of my 18 stations didn't work, Our roads were resurfaced and the machinery damaged the sprinkler station that covered about 150' along the road. I needed the road station repaired so I could submit a bill to that company, and I needed 3 other stations repaired. What I got: A solenoid replaced that I pointed to - fixing one station. One other solenoid located/replaced - fixing another station A promise to send a crew (only 1 tech originally arrived) to 1 - trench and fix the roadway sprinkler damage 2 - bring a better wire locator, since the original one was working very well BUT, _I_ had to call the company and make another appt! Vendor was booked solid when I called (late July) and was very upfront about this when we first spoke. I booked a date 1 week out from initial call to perform service. On the date of service, the vendor called an hour in advance to let me know he was running about 10 to 15 minutes behind; which I was really impressed with. Took about 35 minutes to perform work, and check that everything was as it should be. Very professional and courteous service. Would definitely use again, and highly recommend.

I think this is one of the top service providers in the area. My only concern is that with their crew, I sense they came out and rushed through the work. They have things done to a science, but overall design and install oversight was lacking in my case. I found some of the sprinkler heads had to be swapped out in a subsequent visit because the water range was not optimal. We swapped out at least four sprinkler heads. The good news is the work was done, but again, it took my initiative to establish a service follow-up. Another concern was the final sprinker layout in the backyard. One of the sprinkler location is not spaced optimally, so again I wonder why this occurred. It's off by several feet. Also, there was a miscommunication in the sprinkler system was going in before I was putting in new sod, so the sprinkler heads were all placed low profile not accounting for the sod installation. I think this one can be more on me but I thought I had communicated that clearly -- I should have included this detail on the written job order. One sprinkler head is still not providing proper coverage to an area, so I have to follow-up with them on that. This is STILL a favorable review. I think the company and crew are very capable. I just can't help but feel, compared to my landscape vendor selected, for example, that this job had the results of being rushed by the install crew and better care could have been exercised vs. thinking about the next job. I'm happy to report that nearly all my follow-up services needs were dealt with properly, but again, most of this was easily avoidable if they exercised more precision and care with the installation. I recommend this company, but make sure you account for any new sod placement as height of sprinkler heads for system can become a concern. Also make sure they properly space all sprinkler heads as part of install (one was off in my case), and finally and most importantly, make sure you have adequate time to review the sprinkler head coverage as many in my case had to be changed out to provide better lawn coverage. I would again use this company, just chalk it up as a learning lesson from my side on what could have ensured an A++ job and overall experience on the very first install date.
Description of Work: Had a front and back yard sprinkler installation done for front and back yard, including drip system.

I had a problem with my sprinkler. One station would not go off. I called and requested service and was told by Andy he would try and get someone out on Friday. The lady called me at 5:30 Friday and told me I was next. She arrived at 8:00. She located my valve and replaced the diaphragm. The system seems to run fine now. The total bill was $211.00, of which $150 was for a new valve.I looked around at valves like the one she fixed and the online price was $13-18.00. I think $150 is a bit excessive, since all she really did was replace a plastic diaphragm. I would not recommend these folks. I do appreciate that my sprinkler was fixed, but a 1,000% markup is off the charts.

Service was impeccable. They fixed all issues they found and replaced the grass in a way where the grass did not die. After a couple weeks you couldn't even tell work had been done in that spot. Even though the work site was right next to the paved walkway they did a wonderful job of keeping everything clean and cleaning up any mess after they were done. They sent out 2 guys. They were great at explaining what they needed to do and making sure I was fine with spending the money on any piece that needed to be replaced. I only gave a B for punctuality because they pushed back the appointment which was fine.
Description of Work: The guys had to dig up part of the yard to find a place where I thought there was a leak in the sprinkler lines. They found that the sprinkler line had been crushed. They replaced it as well as a few sprinkler heads.

We were assigned to water only on Sundays by the city, which we were never able to do, and our trees were suffering from the drought conditions. We called four companies to get an estimate on a sprinkler system. One didn’t return our call and two others were booked out 2-3 weeks just for an estimate. We wanted to get a system installed as soon as possible to keep from losing any trees. Aquamax came out within a couple of days, gave an estimate on the spot, and scheduled the installation just two weeks after we signed the contract. The owner also answered the myriad of questions we had in a timely manner. The installation team arrived early, and was very professional. They were able to make an “in the field” amendment to the schematics to address some of our future landscaping plans. They worked very hard and cleaned up before they left. Aquamax took care of the required city inspection. We recommended the company to our neighbor, who will also be using them.

Called Robert for an estimate and he was hands down the most responsive and best priced, while offering the better product than the other estimates. It took a couple of weeks to get my install scheduled due to some permit issues with my town, but when they were scheduled they showed up right on time at 8am. By 3pm they had dug all of the lines, installed all the heads, and had given me a thorough walk through of the system such as how everything works and where to watch for any problems and what to do if anything happens. I've worked on systems before so I had a good idea, but best to know the exact ins and out of my new system. The crew cleaned up well, packed the dug up lines well, didn't leave trash or debris behind, and other than the dug lines you couldn't tell anyone had recently been all over the yard. They did great work at a competitive price. I appreciate also not having a lot of pressure to do extra add-ons, landscaping, and other things that one other estimate came with.
