Aquamax Sprinkler Systems

I was extremely impressed with their service.

Cost per service was $230 and $213 to service two different properties. We have had problems with both systems since they were serviced. At the first property our tenant told us the sprinkler head for zone 6 was not coming up and to repair a broken sprinkler head. We called Aquamax who was curt and told us they could not come out for 2 weeks. They finally did and repaired the broken sprinkler head, but did not fix the issues with zone 6. I hired another firm who found a large leak in broken pipe in zone 6 and replaced it promptly for half the cost. The other property's water costs were much higher since Aquamax had serviced the system It turns out Aquamax set the sprinkler system to go off 4 times during the day rather than the City of Dallas mandate of twice per day. We had the system reset. Aquamax was expense and there is a long wait time if your issues persist. They do not seem to stand behind their work.

Pedro was running a bit late for the two hour window, called early to let me know but basically arrived within the window. Pedro works efficiently, was professional and courteous at all times. I was happy with the Big Deal and the additional charges to address issues.

They were very knowledgeable and provided me an assessment of what was going right and wrong -- along with corrective measures. Will definitely use them next year for another tune-up and when I add different landscaping.

Our appointment was for 7:30 am. He (Pedro) called & said he would be a few minutes late. When he arrived, I explained what I wanted & then followed him to turn on & off zones (I have seven zones controlled by an internet connected Skydrop controller). He explained what he saw as problems & told me his solutions to each, flagging each problem sprinkler head with a flag. Then he provided an estimate for $225 for all of the work based on time involved. I approved the work & he began. A short time later he came to the door & said he was done. I was surprised at how fast he was. We went & checked the flagged heads & all worked properly. Final price was just under $135, a pleasant surprise. Pedro was very polite, respectful, easy to talk to & he listened to what I had to say. He was prompt, professional & courteous. It's refreshing to do business with companies like this. I come from California & many businesses act like they are doing you a favor just showing up sometime during the day. Maybe it's just a Texas thing, but I could get used to this kind of treatment. The only ding I would give them is that I found a flag in the back yard. I don't know if he just forgot to pick it up or if he neglected to service one problem. I will contact the company for further clarification on this. I would definitely recommend this company & use them again.

First, I want to make it clear that this evaluation is for the Complete Sprinkler Tune Up Deal that I purchased. If I evaluated it based on the work that I did not have them do, the evaluation would be completely different. I tried to schedule the work within the first week immediately after purchasing the deal. I explained that we had a leak in at least one of the pipes that I knew would not be covered under the deal. Unfortunately, their first appointment was 2 weeks out. I almost cancelled so that I could get someone in sooner, but decided to live with it. The two employees of Aquamax arrived and promptly did the work under the deal that I had purchased promptly. After that, they took me out and explained everything clearly. One of the tall sprinklers in the bushes was not properly connected. He explained that he shoved it back in, but that it really needed a $7 nipple replacement to fix it properly, so that it would stay in. I was pleased with the work that they did under the Deal. They also clearly explained three problems with my system. There were leaks in 2 stations and low flow in another station which they diagnosed as a problem which would require a valve replacement. They gave me an approximate cost of repair of (I think--I can't find the paper) $720, which included parts and labor. He explained that it could be more or it could be less, depending on how much digging they had to do to find the busted places and the valve. It included 3 hours of work each for 2 people. They flagged the places where the problems were. When I tried to schedule an appointment, it was not possible for another 10 days, even though I was leaking very badly (and it was already 2 weeks since initial contact). I scheduled the appointment just so that I could get in line (and cancelled it a few days later). I got another company to do the labor. As it turns out, I did not need a valve replacement; there were 3 leaky pipes. It took 2 people just over an hour to perform the work. It cost me less than half of the amount that Aquamax quoted, and it was done within 3 days. Aquamax may be a good company, and they may have charged me a lot less than the original quote, but when you have leaks in your sprinkler, it can't wait around weeks for repairs. Also, I would have expected a more accurate estimate of the hours needed to do repair work--even if it had a bad valve, it wouldn't have taken 4 man hours additional to replace.

We weren't sure our front flower bed irrigation was working. He checked it out and determined that it was. He was on time and seemed knowledgeable and professional, but for the services provided, he charged too much.

The service was wonderful, and informative. He was very punctual, and very friendly. I was very satisfied.

They were professional and managed to stay late to accomplish a larger scope than they had planned for. No complaints, and I have used Aqua Max before and have been pleased with their service.

Jose was excellent! Very professional, spent time showing me each head and any changes he was making. A few of the heads I thought needed to be replaced, he just did a simple adjustment instead.

The technician was a little late, but called ahead of time to let me know what time he would be there. He did a complete sprinkler tune-up. He made sure the water wasn't hitting the house and adjusted all the heads that needed to be adjusted. He found one broken pipe and one broken head. He replaced both. I also asked him to check the amount of time I was watering each station and he explained how long each should be watered and why. Over all a very good experience.

Fantastic. The team was competent and honest. I authorized them to run a new sprinkler line, but they found existing lines there that were not working. After spending just a short period of time, they were able to reconnect it and get it working. Great service!

Came on time and performed work quickly. Knew how to do the job.

They showed up late on a Friday afternoon. There was only one guy which wasn't the end of the world BUT they charged me $90 per hour for one guy instead of $120 for two. As a result, the repair was a lot more expensive. To make matters worse, they didn't even finish the job. Pedro told me he had to run to his last appointment of the day and I would have to call the office to schedule another visit. He also said I had to pay him for all his work that day and they would come back to finish it up. It sounded like a scam to me. I didn't want to wait another two weeks to get the system 100% fixed and I was concerned they wouldn't come back and I have to pay another group the $69 diagnostic fee. I had Pedro call the Robert, the owner. I can't say Robert was extremely helpful. He was able to schedule me 5 days later instead of two weeks, which was great. Strike that. He just called me back after reading my review and said it wasn't going to be 5 days but really 12 days! He did want me to pay for the work that had been done even though the system wasn't fixed. After a tough conversation, he agreed to 50% now and 50% when it was done. I get that scheduling is tough and these service providers try their best. I could have lived with the payment terms and them coming back but charging me $90 for one guy when they charge $1120for two, was the straw that broke the camels back. The hourly rate per guy was nearly 2x and it took almost twice as long! There are a lot of great irrigation companies on Angie's List. I would strongly suggest you don't use AquaMax. When I talked to Robert a few days later, he did say we would give me some kind of discount given all the trouble. He wouldn't commit to what it was until the job was done. I'm hoping he is true to his word. Stay tuned.

Pedro was very efficient and the work was done well and in a timely manner.

I get it I signed up for tune up but they just walked around and put a bunch of flags around to identify the broken heads. They were not even ready to leave the flags in place so I could replace it myself. They said it would be $15 per head for replacement, It is a rip off. They picked up the flag and just walked. I am sure I can find people who can do this a lot cheaper. Good for corporate office who don't care for the cost. I would not advice their service for residential customers.

He was brought in to diagnose and fix a leak in the front yard. He did not fix it and told me that it was a plumbing issue. We had a licensed plumber come and diagnosed the problem and traced the problem to a leaking sprinkler. He also marked the main and sewer lines. So it was clear to me that Aquamax missed the problem. He said "Well, the meters not running so it's not the sprinkler." The charge per 15 mins and I think they should have done their job. I feel that they took advantage of me. Would not Recommend.

Tech found several issues with our system and corrected several. Found two zones that would require 2 ppl and about 3 hours, so we will wait on that part. The tech was informative and thorough, walking us through his findings, suggested repairs and solutions. We are pleased with this service provider.

I was surprised by how expensive the service was. I understood that I'd pay extra beyond the deal since I had more than 8 zones but the cost per replacement sprinkler head caught me by surprise.

.Still not happy than you can't talk to live person when their number is called, you can only leave a message.. This review is for Pedro, repairman. Great work, friendly, works hard to get job done and explains everything. The owner, Robert, still needs to work on his people skills.

Overall was a decent experience. After reviewing the charges for the work done in addition to the tune up we purchased on Angie's List, I wonder if they double-charged for the time it took to do the tune up portion of the work, but it's pretty unclear from the info on the invoice. Workers were polite and efficient.

Pedro, Pedro, Pedro!! Stand up guy who does things right and with a great attitude. He works hard and doesn't stop tell he's finished. He took the time to explain to me what was wrong with what he had to fix. I had full confidence that I got what I paid for. They called ahead to ask if they could show up early, which was great. They tested the sprinklers and found a faulty wire. They said that if they were able to fix the wire instead of replace it, it would cost less. Not only did they fix the wire for free, but they did not charge us anything extra for the labor or parts. We were very satisfied.

I purchased a deal for a sprinkler tune-up through Angie's List. I did this because I knew I had zones that were not working and I wanted the tune-up and an estimate. Upon booking, I communicated this when scheduling the service visit. After purchasing the deal the service window was a week later. The technician was late to the appointment but did call me ahead of time to let me know. Once there, I informed him that I had several zones that were not working. He informed me that if he had to do any work ahead of time that he would let me know and then he started to look everything over. About an hour and a half later he knocked on the door and told me that he completed what he could and that he would be leaving and that I'd need to schedule another appointment (waiting another week for the next service window). He then showed me the zones that he got to work and those he didn't. I was charged an additional $150 for an hour and half worth of labor. The labor charge also seems odd because that time also included time doing the tune-up. What did I actually pay for on Angie's List? Later that night, I went to turn on the zones that were "fixed" and some didn't work. Additionally, several wires that were spliced were just left above ground and in an unfinished state. I understand that what was purchased was a system tune-up and that a profit needs to be made. I also understand that what was purchased did not include repairs. The problem I have is that a service visit should allow time to fix a customer's problem and/or providing an estimate and rescheduling the followup with the technician there. Instead, I was told to call and reschedule again without anything really being fixed. Let's face it, the reason why Aquamax is offering this deal is so that they can get followup service work from it. In my opinion, they left me hanging after the tune-up without anything actually being fixed or a plan/estimate for fixing my issues.

It was fantastic. There were additional charges beyond the big deal price. The final cost was $447. They were very prompt. In fact, they arrived about 10 minutes earlier than the beginning of the window that they had. They came in and took care of everything very efficiently. They made sure everything was working. They checked and re-checked before they left.
