Description of Work: This was a large move, over 15,000 lbs as outlined in the contract. First, the team of 6 men were polite and professional, and took extra care to move furniture and boxes carefully, without damaging items or walls. The men actually doing the work were great. I thought Alpha Moving had their own trucks and was surprised when 2 Budget rent a trucks showed up for such a large job. The 25 foot van trucks would normally work for smaller moves, but unlike the typical 48" X 102" dry van trailers used by professional long haul movers, these trucks were shorter in height and lacked space to complete the entire move. There were about 15 boxes and some furniture that would not fit into the trucks. I called Alpha Moving and Storage and suggested they just attach a U-Haul trailer to the back of one of the trucks to haul the few remaining items but was told they could incur a fine if they did this. Finally, I ended up with Tom, their owner and he told me they would have to send back 2 men with a truck at $79 per hour to haul the few remaining items. I objected to paying any more money for the move than what was spelled out in the contract. I let my wife talk to Tom and he accused her of misrepresenting the move. He started talking about cubic feet but I never spoke with their representative Josh about cubic feet, just about pounds. Tom told us his rented Budget trucks should have been able to handle the cubic feet for this size of move. Tom just kept blabbing and blabbing until I finally told Tom he was doing just that, blabbing. I told him to forget it; i would hire someone else to complete the move. By this time his foreman said he was going to quit and another one of the guys said he was going to quit, too. I asked another one of the guys if this happened often, and he said "all the time". Another one told me, "every day". Alpha has some great movers, and Josh is great, too. Actually, the company would be much better, in my opinion, if Tom, the owner, would just quit.

Description of Work: I used Alpha Moving and Storage for moving services after purchasing a Groupon for a free move. Though, I paid $79 for a gas and transportation fee, plus tip. The items were delivered from my storage garage, which I vacated, to my current apartment.

Description of Work: Local move from a home to an apartment. Packed all breakable items , took apart large furnture items, and delivered them in the alotted time frame. Used three men who were professional and friendly. Nothing broken, or damage, Placed items where my wife wanted them, and cleaned up any mess that was made. We had most of the items pre-packed, but they completed the major items and glass items; crated the LCD tv, s and boxed other components. We will use them again , as this is a temp move for us for about a year.
