26 minutes ago These guys are a joke! We built a house and closed the end of November with Meritage homes who is also horrible. We hadn’t been in the home 2 months and realized the granite had been cracked during the install of the cook top, and the only reason we found out was my wife cut her hand. We turned it into the builder and they refuse to replace the granite which I paid for to be done right and I even paid for upgraded granite throughout the house. The builder has offered to have allied repair it, however we have had 4 other granite companies come out and say it was done wrong because it was installed with no support and on cabinets that’s aren’t level. We have reached out to Allied who refuses to come out again and see these horrible cracks that have my granite falling off the countertop because they are scared of Meritage and the possibility of losing business with them. They say on the website that they have a year warranty due to bad workmanship but yet they don’t want to own up to the mistakes they made. They even had one of there own guys come out initially and he said it needed to be replaced because it would fail later not to mention the look wouldn’t be right. It’s not cosmetic guys it’s a MATERIAL FAILURE due to the install. So now we have several others who have agreed with us I guess the only next step is to have them named in the lawsuit with meritage. Come on guys I’m not asking for nothing more than I paid for own up to your mistakes and fix it because you know as well as I do a bad reputation is worse than anything and I promise I will let everyone know how you and meritage homes did me. My email is below if you want to make it right or call Barry Sykes at Meritage he will get you in touch with me or my wife. If not get use to the negative publicity because more is coming on every platform I can think of maybe even FOX4 news with Steve or Tim when they do the meritage piece. Showell2@yahoo.com

This company installed our island and granite countertops as it is a vendor for our country homes. The granite is full of pits (which was noted at walkthrough). 2 months later and after 3 visits from this company we have even more pits as crystals are just falling off. We have been told by Allied stone different excuses such as the granite being very “exotic” , fillings are done in Brazil and India so maybe they are falling off, use only water to clean, etc but the truth is that it’s a flawed slab with loose crystals. This company does not stand behind their work. My only request was for them to compromise they would come in a couple of months to fill the pits that were weekly showing and they refused to do so. Buyer BEWARE, personally I would never use this company again and with so many choices in the Dallas area, I wouldn’t risk it!

We purchased a very expensive slab of carrara marble for our new home from Allied Stone. Our builder is Our Country Homes and we had no choice but to use this company. It is probably THE worst job I have ever seen (and I have had many homes with exotic granites). They cut the marble to fit and the colors do not match at all, it literally looks like 2 different slabs were used. The cut itself is horrible, it is straight down the middle of the counter-top. Half of the marble is white and the other half is grey. They claim they took a picture of the slab in order to prove that the pieces all came from the same slab, of course they could have used any slab to take their picture. If the pieces are from the same slab, then this is THE worst job in the history of stone installation!! They hide behind the disclaimer that natural stone is just that, and differences and variances are a part of the stone, which of course is true, but when you have 2 pieces that were cut wrong to begin with and then place them side by side and the color of the 2 pieces are so vastly different, you either clearly don't know what you're doing or you are lying. There was obviously no attention given to color matching. If the picture is true and it is a picture of our marble, then whoever cut it like this was a complete idiot and should be fired!!! As I stated earlier they hide behind their disclaimer because they can't and or won't stand behind their products/workmanship. We've had 3 different granite/marble professional look at it and they all literally laughed at it. They said is looks like it came from 2 different slabs. Maybe it is the same slab, maybe its not. Bottom line, the marble looks absolutely horrible and we are NOT HAPPY customers. I cannot and would not EVER recommend doing business with Allied Stone. This company is one of MANY worthless vendors that Our Country Homes uses. But as we have seen throughout this housebuilding process, we are still amazed at the lack of pride and integrity people have concerning their businesses and their workmanship.

Response from Allied Stone Granite Countertops Dallas
We’re very sorry that you’ve had a bad experience with us and we strive to make sure our customers are pleased with our work. Natural stone has variations in hue and tone within slabs and can make exact color matching impossible. It’s not reasonable to expect a naturally variable product like marble will be the same across a kitchen, that’s part of the charm of natural stone. Our disclaimer about the variable nature of stone isn’t for us to hide behind, it’s to guide expectations about how natural stone will appear once it’s installed. We’ve tried to address your concerns in person and have worked with your builder to rectify the situation, but it’s unfortunate that our efforts haven’t satisfied you. Our process is open and all about giving options to families building their dream home. After reviewing the work, both Our Country Homes and Allied Stone feel that the marble in your secondary kitchenette falls within normal variation and produces no undesired effect. The coloration of your slab is similar to hundreds of others and is very typical of this manner of installation. We fabricate and install thousands of kitchens across the state of Texas every month and strive for excellence in every single one. In this situation, we stand behind the builder and our own work. Our Country Homes and Allied Stone are partners in crafting great homes in the area and count many satisfied homeowners as our legacy. We are saddened if your expectations of the marble were not in line with the reality of natural materials.

Please note, I did business with the group in Durant, Ok and not Dallas. I was not thrilled with the lackluster attitude of the sales staff. They really had no interest in accommodating any special request outside of their standard jobs and I felt like I was being pushed through like an assembly line production. It was a huge expense and I really expected a bit better customer care. Just my opinion and when I re-do the master bath, I will go elsewhere for granite fabrication.

I thought they were expensive. I was not happy that they did not pre-cut them correctly as you can see glue where they're joined. The installer was fantastic. The company itself wasn’t organized the morning of which caused a delay in the installation. They got the job done in about 5-6 hours.

The salesmen were great but the workers were the ones that would not respond. They left a seam un-buffed and epoxy everywhere. We contacted them but cannot get them to come back out to finish the job. We decided to just do the job ourselves. The sales people were terrific and very attentive. They also answered all our questions and got everything set-up. It fell through when they came to do the work.

So disappointed with this company. Showroom was wonderful and loved how they gave you the prices immediately. However, after we picked out and paid for our slab the customer service was terrible. Our sales person, Katie, promised us the countertop would be installed before we moved into our house. Not only was it not but I had to constantly seek her out to get information. She never once contacted me to let me know of delays. I had to just keep hounding her to find out anything. Then, the holes for the faucet fixtures were cut unevenly. To make matters worse, they promised they would come back out and fix around 12:00 a few days later. Never showed up. I had to call and then someone finally called me back at 4:30 and said they weren't coming.

Jason Jones at Allied Stone was very helpful throughout the process of updating countertops in the kitchen. He's very informed about the various stones( and they have a good variety) that Allied carries and answered all questions about the various stages of the installation process. All the people I came into contact from Allied were very professional, punctual and courteous, including the person taking the templates and the installers. The installation was delayed by a couple of days only because of the icy weather we had in December. The installers took time to place the granite tops precisely and made sure the sink and the cooktop fit well. They worked at the same pace from start to finish, never hurried at any point, even as the day wore on and made sure the undermount sink was well installed. I will recommend Jason and Allied Stone at any time.

It didn't. We weren't interested in using them.
Description of Work: Changing countertops in our kitchen. Went to showroom. Looked at granite slabs - nice selection. If you want them to save you money then you don't have a say in how many and location of seams. You just take what they give you. If you want to look at template and seams, then the price goes waaaay up beyond many of the other fabricators that do machine microseams of granite.

It didn’t actually go very well. We went in and we looked at our product, we decided what we wanted, called to place the order, and after we received the product, it was the wrong product. They said basically that we had signed off on it and so they weren’t going to do anything for us. They said it was our fault because they had put out the wrong color that we wanted. They just assumed that they know what they’re doing. I didn’t compare the samples we had to what was on the order. Needless to say, we got what we wanted and it was beautiful but we lost a couple of thousand dollars in that process. They actually did the work because they had the products that we wanted. They did a great job afterwards. Their prices were more reasonable and I like their products better.

Your experience is very important to us. We value our customer’s opinions and use the feedback to make improvements where necessary. The miss-communication with your color selection is regrettable and is an issue that could have been avoided. We are pleased that you are satisfied with the end result and that you got the color you wanted. Please keep us in mind for future renovations for we would love the opportunity to work with you again and exceed your expectations.

I picked out my gray truffle quartz at Allied Stone on May 21st. Jason Jones was extremely helpful and patient. Joel came to our home on the 23rd of May and made of template of our kitchen counter tops. Today, June 5, 2013 two men from Allied Stone installed our new counter tops. Upon arrival they laid quilted movers blankets on all the tile floors where they would be working. The removed the top drawers of the cabinets and carefully laid them on a quilt on the living room floor. I was warned that my cabinets would be dinged and dust would cover everything we own. Not true! They were very careful with the cabinets. Not a single ding. I had put all of my dishes, pots and pans, glasses, etc. in the cabinets and sat back to see what would happen. Jason Jones has assured me I would be just fine and I took him as his word. He was right and the horror stories from well meaning friends were wrong.
