Shawn arrived as scheduled and appeared to have a very clear idea of the work involved in this project. However, some of the comments in his initial quote indicated that he did not fully understand the scope of the existing system. Shawn made another trip to our residence to re-evaluate the system and revise the quote. He did not give us the best deal, but he made a very reasonable effort to do so, including giving us multiple options.
Description of Work: We contacted Shawn and requested an estimate for repair/replacement of a central air conditioning system. Shawn spent some time looking over our system and sent us quotes via email after his visit for several options ranging from an inexpensive repair to a full system replacement to earn us federal tax credits.

They were really excellent. We are much happier with our AC situation. They were going to fix the unit or replace it; it was our choice. It was probably going to continue to break down. We will definitely use them in the future.
Description of Work: I called in the morning and they had an answering service. The guy called me back immediately. I was shocked. We had an AC problem. It was blowing warm air. They ended up replacing our old unit. We had an old inefficient unit that was not big enough for the house.

I called them on the Monday after Christmas. Given my timing, I feared that they would not get to me for a couple of days. That concerned since another cold front was expected. Tony returned my called immediately and was at our home within a few hours. He resolved the problem that day. I have used Air Patrol several times since finding them on Angies List. They are professional, courteous, punctual, and effective. They're a little more expensive than I would expect but they're they're reliable and I trust them. I'll pay a little more for that.
Description of Work: Most recently, they came out to correct a problem with the furnace fan not coming on. As a result, the whole system would shut down for a few hours. Not a good problem to have in late December.

They were really good. I liked them a lot! I went ahead and got a maintenance contract with them. They were very nice. I paid the service guy while he was here for the work that he did, and then I went ahead with the maintenance contract that same day. When the serviceman got back to the office the office lady called me and told me that I didn't need to pay for that day's work because of the contract. She then refunded me my money. I thought the price was really good.

My experience with them was very good. They were extremely knowledgeable and very, very helpful. Sean Gaiser, the owner, was very hands on. He was not a pushy salesman type of person. He was extremely knowledgeable about air conditioning and how to create the right comfort level inside the home and how to balance the air between the rooms. I got a lot of other bids too, but they all lacked the sophistication of Sean Gaiser. He understood that the problem I had was also with the ducting. He wasn?t promoting anything that wasn?t necessary, and was instead trying to solve the problem. He did an amazing job and his crew very much performed a white-glove service. They picked up and cleaned up after themselves everyday. They were very polite too.

It made a pretty big difference in our air flow and helped out quite a bit. They were on time.
Description of Work: I had some people come out and give me quotes on my air conditioning. Air Patrol came out and actually solved the problem. Another company came out and gave me a quote of $20,000 on a new air conditioner, which is not what I wanted. Air Patrol said that I needed to try to re-vent it and if that doesn't work then they could put in a new unit, but they didn't think I needed a new unit at that point. They came back a couple weeks later and put some venting in the attic, added some return air and a couple new ducts.

The old AC in my rent house quit on a Friday. Air Patrol's Shawn Gazor diagnosed the problem for the tenants, then called me to discuss options for repair. Since the system was old, I elected to have it entirely replaced. Shawn scheduled installation for Monday and provided portable AC units for the tenants to use over the weekend and until installation was complete. The tenant described the installation experience as follows: the installers were very good. They were here from 8:00-7:00 doing the install. They said the install would be completed in one day and it was (and that included installing the outside unit in the rain). Every time they said they would arrive early, they did. Minimizing getting the inside of the house dirty was a high priority for them. The only glitch was with the post-install city inspection. The inspector only found one problem. It was with the in-bound fresh air vent in the inside unit closet. He said it appeared to be clogged (in the attic) and had to be cleared. The inspector called Air Patrol and they came out and resolved the issue all on the same day.
Description of Work: Replaced old central heating and air conditioning system with new Trane system, 3 ton AC (14 SEER), gas furnace, high efficiency coil, filter base, slab for outside unit, filter drier.

Good overall experience. Shawn came out and quoted a price in May, we ordered the work in July (scheduled completion in August) and he held the same price quoted back in May. Shawn arrived with the crew to provide instructions, at the time confirmed. Work was completed in one day as advised and as per request / quote. Crew was very courteous and took care in protecting our furnishings as they worked. My only nit was I believe they could have done a better job cleaning up afterward. The crew asked for a broom, I provided a shop-vac, but they only addressed a couple areas and not every room where that was residual mess. At the end of the day not a big deal as it was simple housework/cleanup - just made the difference between an A and an A+ experience for us. We'd definitely use Air Patrol again though as the quality of work was good and priced well. My husband even commented "wow, what a difference in the attic when the duct work is installed correctly, we actually gained more storage space".

The owner of the company is Shawn Gazor ? I called him based on the work he did for a friend and the positive comments posted on Angie?s List. I called and he came out the next day to give me a quote. I talked to 12 AC contractors before deciding to go with Shawn. I found that there is a wide difference in the knowledge and professionalism of various AC contractors. Shawn was one of the very best. Shawn provided a thorough and detailed written quote on the spot (it took him a while to write it all out). Two days later he followed up with an e-mail with a .pdf version of the quote along with a lot of additional information as well as another option he had thought of after he left my home (see below). Shawn?s quote detailed the work to be done and specified by model number each piece of equipment to be installed. I am one to research large expenditures extensively, and as such I had a number of questions which I e-mailed to Shawn over the course of a couple of weeks. Each time Shawn responded within a very reasonable timeframe with complete and detailed answers. My goals in replacing the systems were to give me better performance, lower my monthly electricity costs, and qualify for the current Federal tax credit. When Shawn provided me the detailed .pdf quote he included an ?out of the box? option that would meet all my goals for a lower price. I very much appreciated that he was continuing to think about and research my project even after the initial quote. Ultimately, in my research, I had found a different ?out of the box? option that I preferred. The equipment necessary for this option was new to the market and was not yet available anywhere in Texas. Shawn went to a great deal of effort over the course of about a week to deal with the manufacturer and the local distributor to special order this equipment directly from the manufacturer. The installation itself took 2 full days. The crew of 4 was very neat and courteous. They have been working together as a crew for several years, and it was clear that they worked well together and knew what they were doing. They took great care to protect our floors and walls as they removed the old equipment and installed the new. They were also very good about cleaning up after the work was complete. In fact, the left my attic cleaner than it was before the work. After the installation, there were a few small problems that needed correction. 1) a leak in one of the drains, 2) circuit breaker that was not correctly sized, and 3) airflow problems to one of the rooms. Each of these was corrected in a timely and professional manner. Overall, I would highly recommend using Shawn?s company for system replacements. The combination of professionalism, quality, responsiveness, and price were excellent.

Good company to work with. It is run by a couple with a team of technicians. They are very easy to reach on the phone and are responsive. They were only 1 of the 2 companies out of about 15 HVAC companies who were willing to give me a quote over the phone for a simple repair job - this made my decision very easy - took away the element of surprise. And they stuck with their quote after the job was done. Would hire them again. I only wish the technician was a little more punctual.

Workman was pleasant and courteous. He diagnosed the problem as insulation which had gotten sucked into the fan. He did NOT try to sell me a new fan or do any unnecessary work ! Many service people would have recommended replacing the fan at a cost of $ 600 or more. I was looking for a company which would do the work needed and not load me up with high profit unneeded repairs. I have found one ! I plan to do some work on another problem besides the one I got service on and found his advice helpful.

I was unable to get in contact with a representative of their company during posted business hours. I called Air Patrol because they had high ratings and they listed business hours during Saturday when I was calling. I called 30 minutes after their posted opening time and got and answering service. They said a technician would call me back. I called again 30 minutes later, getting another person from the answering service, and was told the same thing. I never received a return call from the company. Update: The company contacted me on Monday, too late, but they made contact.

One day installation went well. Shawn Gazor and the crew arrived about 7:30 am and the job was completed in about 12 hours. Shawn discussed the installation with us and gave directions to the four-man crew, then left. The crew put heavy canvas cloths out to protect the carpet. They moved several pieces of heavy furniture out of their way. They set up two portable window units to cool part of the house during installation of the new system. The units did a good job and the house stayed comfortable while work proceeded. The crew removed the old equipment, made a new concrete pad for the new, larger compressor unit outside. They installed the new attic unit, cut an additional air intake downstairs and increased the duct size on another intake upstairs. They installed a large overflow pan and a safety cutoff float. They relocated drains, duct and wiring so that the area around the attic unit was better organized and more accessible for future servicing, they increased the distance between the unit and the intake vent, reducing noise levels in the family room. They sealed the unit and connections to the duct. The crew was polite, cooperative with one another, cheerful and agreeable. They answered questions pleasantly and cleaned up after themselves, although I did need to remind them (more than once) to replace the furniture they moved out of their way, as well as some patio furniture which they had moved to the shade for lunch. We asked that the ductwork under the house (which was not changed) be checked for leaks. The crew leader said they could not do that on this same day and suggested we schedule that task for another day. The following morning, Shaw came over about 9 am, demonstrated how to program the thermostat and reviewed details of the work with me.

I was not too impressed with them. They rescheduled my appointment because they had other works to be finished which was not very helpful for me. They were a little late for the work and stayed for very short time which means they did not do a thorough evaluation of the units. It started as an emergency request - in the heat of Dallas heatwave around 102 on a Thursday. Had called many places, this was one that called us back and was able to get us a next day appt for an Friday PM. Tony came by and calmed me down because we have an 11 month old baby and had been driving to various groceries store just to keep cool. Managed to fix the old unit that had been previously repaired. Found source of problem (we never could find the filter to replace - it was in the attic and central). He checked all the other units and informed me only the work that was needed, no drama, just the facts. Price quoted after repair on the day - managed to come by to replace it. Answered my questions, gave me frank opinion about he used at home versus what I requested, no high pressure sales tactic. Told me what I could do on my own, like replacing filters and keeping all the vents open instead of trying to 'direct' them in different parts of the house - will only cause things to break down faster. Came on another Friday - I offerred to help him carry the heavy unit since we had pool pump in the way, but the 2 of them managed to fix it and carried it over, no complains, again in the middle of another heat wave. Our A/C unit is now fully functional and house is much cooler. They cleaned up after themselves and very respectful throughout, good sense of humor.

They showed up on time Saturday morning, worked all day and charged what they had quoted in the estimate. The unit seemed to not be working 100% on the next day which was a Sunday. I called the business number and left a detailed message with a very good answering service and was called back within two hours on Sunday evening. They returned to our house by 8:30 am Monday morning and made the needed adjustments and the unit is working as it should. Tony from Air Patrol and assistant arrived on time, explained what they were checking on, and possible reasons for no ac/ in one of 3 units. They worked on the bad unit, then suggested they clean the other 2, which was done at a discounted price from the 1st unit. Added freon to bad unit, after a leak showed there was a leak. I was not ready to purchase a new unit at the time. Although they left the screws off an outside unit panel after cleaning, they came back promptly after I called the next day, and replaced the screws

Excellent!!!! Could not have had a better experience! We initially had another a/c company as our service provider. When the unit went out (two months after our home warranty expired!!!) they came out to estimate a fix. Not only did they want to charge us well over $6k (w/o taxes or extended warranty), but they were giving us all sorts of "extras" that we did not need, such as a furnace replacement (ran just fine) and added another $3k+ for a "bonus" water heater update (also, works just fine). Ever leary of what they were feeding me, I reached out to Angie's list and started calling the best rated a/c companies for estimates. Of course busy summer start, everyone wanted to schedule visits a week or two out. Not cutting it in the Texas heat!! When I called Air Patrol, Shaun answered. He was Great from the start! I gave him my story and he almost laughted at half of what I was telling him. He discounted any usual service call fee (very cool), then on top of that, he said he would come out later that same day! I was thrilled already!!! It was later in the evening and it had even started raining, but he showed up. Spent some time looking upstairs and outside. He was very welcoming to me being over his shoulder the whole time and explained how these untis work! Then broke it down to me. Here's what you have that is fine. Here's what you need. And Here are the nice-to-haves. Awesome! Ultimately we got a new name brand Amana unit, inside and out; new duct work with dampers that balance the airflow, and a FULL 10 yr warranty on service! Also, Shaun followed up with another house call a week later to inspect the final work done, and to ensure we are completely satisfied.Shaun was always corteous and kind, to me and my wife. As well as professional. I would recommend Air Patrol to anyone and everyone! Great work!
Description of Work: Had replacement of a/c unit outside and the coil inside the attic, as well as a full overhaul of the ductwork throughout the house. I was pleased and satisfied with the technician. I was sort of hoping that some of the visit cost would have been waived when I had the work authorized, but I did not ask for a reduction, so I am satisfied that it was reasonable. Good experience and would recommend.
Description of Work: Seasonal inspect visit. They identified a rusted capacitor that needed replacement, and gave me an estimate of life expectancy if we did not replace. The cost for the 3 unit inspection was $120, plus $265 for the capacitor. Not sure what the other $15 consisted of.

The crew was scheduled to arrive between 8:00am and 8:30am and arrived at 8:05am. Nice and prompt. They worked like a well-oiled machine. It's obvious that they've done many jobs together as a team. They added two additional intakes and paid attention to the finest of details, including mounting the ceiling grills so the slats faced away so the grill wasn't as noticeable from the viewpoints in the room. Nice touch! Very clean work, friendly techs, seemingly very skilled. I'm looking forward to the electric bills in the summer, see how much we're saving! I anticipate that this system will be much more efficient.
