 + -1 moreOverall experience was good. Although they were a bit higher in price, I felt comfortable since the owner that came out to do the original estimate was more detailed than the others, and gave a few extra's that the competition wasn't offering or suggesting.
Description of Work: AF1 came out and estimated the replacement of an old AC/Heating Unit and were very thorough - complete with digital pics and checked on air duct flow in the attic. They quoted me a few different unit options and advised which one would work best for my house.

 + -1 moreDanny Sides was very courteous & on time for the estimate. However, they were about 1 1/2 hours late for the installation (they did call & said it was due to a helper being late). When they arrived (& Danny was there), the work proceeded as expected. Once he left, leaving his helper to finish the work, it slowed down markedly. The job was supposed to take 1 day, but it took 1 1/2, even after a second helper arrived. The next day, they arrived 2 hours late, allegedly due to traffic. The auxiliary fan was not in stock & I had to call 1 week later to remind Mr Sides that it had not yet been installed. He then set up an appointment & was prompt in arriving to install it, which took an additional 1/2 day. So, a one day job took 2 days. Also, between the 1st & 2nd days, when the heater was supposed keep us warm that night, it did not work; the workman said it was due to a loose wire. It was a cold night, too. I'd use them again in a minute, though.
Description of Work: Installed new furnace/air conditioner in home & connected to new thermostat. Also, installed a new constant-on fan to prevent wide excursions of temperature when cycling heat/AC on & off during normal operation. (This works well, too; I'd recommend its inclusion in the installation.)

 + -1 moreTHIS WAS A BIG JOB THAT TOOK THREE DAYS TO COMPLETE. THE WORKERS WERE CAREFUL TO PUT DOWN DROP CLOTHS AND PROTECT CARPETING AND FURNITURE. THEY WERE VERY POLITE, ON TIME, NEAT, AND EFFICIENT. THE WORKERS TOOK PRIDE IN DOING THE JOB RIGHT.
Description of Work: REPAIRED AND/OR REPLACED DAMAGED AIR DUCTS, AIR SEALED DUCT JOINTS, REWRAPPED ALL DUCTS WITH NEW FOIL INSULATION, SECURED DUCTWORK TO JOISTS. REMOVED ALL OLD MATERIAL.

THE SERVICE WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER RECEIVED, AND THE EXPERIENCE WAS TOTALLY POSITIVE. THE AMOUNT CHARGED FOR THE SERVICE CALL WAS MORE THAN FAIR. I WAS COMPLETELY SATISFIED. I WILL USE AIR FORCE ONE FOR ALL FUTURE WORK.
Description of Work: INSPECTED SYSTEM, AS IT HAD CEASED TO COOL. DISCOVERED MANY THINGS I COULD DO TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF THE SYSTEM AND LOWER OPERATING COSTS.  + -1 moreWE REALIZED OUR A/C WAS NOT BLOWING COOL AIR AND FEARED THE WORST. THE UNIT CAME WITH THE HOUSE AND IS PROBABLY UPWARDS OF 15 YRS OLD. TRUSTING ANGIES LIST TO GIVE US SOMEONE WHO WOULD DO HONEST WORK WE CALLED AIR FORCE ONE. THEY WERE ABLE TO HAVE SOMEONE ONSITE WITHIN 2 HOURS. JOE WAS FRIENDLY AND SKILLED, HE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM WITHIN 10 MINUTES AND GAVE US A QUOTE. HE DIDN'T HAVE THE PART WE NEEDED ON HIS TRUCK BUT AFTER REALIZING WE HAD A 2 WEEK OLD INFANT IN THE HOUSE RUSHED RIGHT OUT TO RETRIEVE THE NEEDED FAN MOTOR. THE HOUSE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO HEAT UP (IT WAS 97 DEGREES THAT DAY). JOE WAS BACK AND INSTALLED THE MOTOR AND TESTED IT IN ABOUT 15 MINUTES!! WE COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR MORE RELIABLE, HONEST OR SPEEDY SERVICE. THEY HAD IT ALL!! ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF ANGIE'S LIST MEMBERS GIVING GOOD RECOMMENDATIONS!! I WOULD ABSOLUTELY USE AIR FORCE ONE AGAIN! THANKS JOE!

Description of Work: I CALLED TO HAVE COMPANY COME OUT TO RENTAL HOUSE TO DO ROUTINE ANNUAL CHECK ON HVAC. LEFT CHECK WITH TENANT. TOLD TENANT THAT THE COMPANY WOULD BE THERE BETWEEN 9 AND 11 AM. NO CALL NO SHOW. THOUGHT MAYBE THAT I WAS MISTAKEN ABOUT THE DAY, SO WAITED UNTIL NEXT DAY. NO CALL NO SHOW. I CALLED THE COMPANY TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS UP. THEY SAID THEY SENT A MAN OUT AND THERE WAS NOBODY HOME. OK, MAYBE IT WAS MY TENANT'S MISTAKE, I THOUGHT. I WANTED TO BE SURE ABOUT THE PRICE OF THE SERVICE CALL BEFORE RESCHEDULING, SO I TOLD THE COMPANY THAT I HAD A COUPON FROM ANGIES LIST FOR 15% OFF AND TOLD THE LADY THAT I WAS TOLD THAT A SERVICE CALL TO CHECK THE SYSTEM WOULD BE $89. I WANTED TO BE SURE THAT I WOULD GET A DISCOUNT OF $89 MINUS 15% FOR CHECKING THE SYSTEM. SHE SAID YES, BUT THAT THERE WOULD BE AN $89 CHARGE FOR CHECKING THE AC SYSTEM AND ANOTHER $89 CHARGE FOR CHECKING THE FURNACE. I HAVE NEVER PAID SEPARATE CHARGES FOR THE AC UNIT AND THE HEATER UNIT WHEN HOUSE HAS ONLY 1 HVAC.

ON TOP OF ALL THAT, THE TECHNICIAN GAVE ME A JAR OF JELLY (A LITTLE SOMETHING THEY OFFER TO NEW CUSTOMERS) AND SAID ''DON'T WORRY ABOUT PAYING ME NOW. WE'LL BILL YOU'' A COMPANY THAT CARES MORE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS THAN MONEY, WOW! THIS COMPANY WILL GET ALL MY FUTURE HEATING AND A/C WORK.
Description of Work: NOTICED A LARGE AMOUNT OF WATER COLLECTING IN THE DRAIN PAN OF MY A/C UNIT IN THE ATTIC. TECHNICIAN LOOKED AT THE UNIT AND CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE WATER WAS NOT DRAINING, DUE TO THE UNIT NOT HAVING ENOUGH SUCTION TO DRAW THE WATER OUT. THIS WAS CAUSED BY MY ERROR ON INSTALLING FILTERS IN THE INTAKE VENTS, WHICH WAS OVER WORKING THE SYSTEM.

THE TECHNICIANS CAME OUT ON A HOT SATURDAY, ON TIME. THEY WERE CAREFUL WITH INTERIOR & EXTERIOR, AND CHECKED THE OPERATION AFTER COMPLETION. WE WERE TOTALLY HAPPY.
