Called and left a message with call dispatch person. I gave my name, address, and phone number. Someone called back and when I told him where I lived he said he didn't serve that area. I live in the middle of Dallas county. It was apparent they didn't want to come out on a Saturday. They really shouldn't advertise 24 hour support if they don't mean it.

Realized problem in a couple of minutes and adjusted after three visits from installer. He had put in way too much Freon. Took out 8 pounds and adjusted and inspected and now running super. Kevin was very professional and even put on shoe covers upon entering house which thrilled my wife.

Arrived on time. Went straight to work. Completed the system check in less time than I expected. Noted a couple of maintenance issues and gave me a price on the spot for the work to be done. Left no mess to be cleaned up. He even helped me get two bulky storage bins up to the attic. And, as an update to previous reviews. My house is 90 years old. Prior to Air Force One installing a complete new high-efficiency system (a/c and gas furnace) in 2009, my electricity bills varied from $300/mo to $450/mo. This past year my highest electricity bill was $165 for the month of August which was the hottest month. The lowest electricity bill was $62 in January. The system has more than paid for itself in the 6 years it has been in place.

Air Force One Air Conditioning was one of the companies that I used. He had to come in and fix the problem that the other guys created. The initial people came out to do the vent cleaning and he ended up shutting the air conditioner completely off and it never restarted. Air Force One had to come out and fix it at 8 O’clock at night and it took him 3 hours. He was supposed to be there 2 hours earlier but he didn't get there till 8. He said that it would only take an hour and ended up taking 3 hours. What stood out the most is that the pricing was not what he originally said if that makes any sense. Air Force One resolved the issue but the problem was the people before them.

A new Client for us, called in late Friday p.m. July 11, stating it was an emergency. We were booked up but would try to get get someone out by 7pm. Arrived at 8pm. Found many electrical problems; inside furnace electrical, outside electrical disconnect box was blown and had to be replaced, outside Condenser coils were totally clogged and had to be cleaned, then found system very low on R22 refrigerant so system needed to be re-charged and leak preventative added. Yes, it took 3 hours to fix but that's what it took to get this lady cooling again. Total cost was $669. We did a good job and we are proud of it!

Dale could not determine the cause of the failed component in our furnace's electronics at first, but thru his persistent research in company records, he determined that a previous service call had resulted in a replaced part that had apparently gone bad. He was very professional in his pursuit of a solution to our problem, and eventually came up with an answer that restored functionality to our heating system at little cost to us. It was a result we will not soon forget, and it cemented our relationship with AF1 as satisfied customers.
Description of Work: We were scheduled to have our semi-annual pre-paid inspection on 11/13, but the cold front arrived on 11/11, and caused us to attempt to turn on our furnace. It didn't ignite, so we called AF1 and asked for a technician on 11/12, and they readily complied with our request. Dale, a resourceful technician who had been to our house before on service calls, provided the service that restored our heat in the jaws of the cold front.

AF1 had the best price for the product and good reviews so I picked them to replace my old central A/C and furnace with a new high efficiency unit. They showed up on time and started removing the old system immediately. So quickly in fact, that one of their hot dog workers tried removing the 240V 30 amp breaker while it still had power to it. He shorted the wires and tripped the main breaker to the house. The shock was so violent that it shook loose one of the main power legs coming in to the meter, so we were without power most of the day. After they got the unit installed, the return air vent hummed loudly. They talked about bending the vanes on the grill or installing a grill made of heavier metal. After a couple of return visits it turns out they incorrectly sized the return air requirements and had to install another return air duct in a hallway. This could have been avoided if the estimator had done the proper calculations that are required by code. Instead he took an educated guess. When I inspected their work, I could see obvious places where the ducts were not sealed properly to the blower in the attic. I could feel cold air blowing out into my attic. They returned once again and fixed those issues. Then they had to come out once more to fix some ducting so it would pass inspection. Now almost a year later I was putting something in the attic and noticed one of the cold air ducts that they moved to put in the return air was not connected at a junction. It seems that while moving the duct around it pulled apart due to it now being too short and having tension on it. Their solution was to use copious amounts of tape around the insulation and hope nobody noticed. At some point it completely separated. I don't know how long I've been air conditioning my attic, but I'm glad I found it after 1 year and not 5. I'm fairly certain they would fix it at no charge, but I'll be calling one of their competitors. It seems that they go out of their way to cut corners. The frustrating part is that they would be much more profitable if they just took a little longer and did he work right the first time so they didn't have to make multiple trips to finish he job.

Response from Air Force One Air Conditioning
We are certainly sorry that (member names) haven't been totally satisfied, as the system has apparently been operating very well for over a year. In 2013 we installed a 5 ton 2 stage high efficient system for appx. $9000 which including adding return air as we were the ones that diagnosed it as needing more air. (member name) was certainly a thorough inspector, taking decibel readings on the the return grille and inspecting for any possible air leakage at the duct connections. Because of the proximity of the unit to the new return it was making some noise (30-50db according to (member name) ), so we added another return at no cost and resealed all the duct connections. When we had the City inspect for quality and the system passed but they asked that we add some more strap and saddles to a duct and this was done and they reinspected and passed the duct work . We don't know how a disconnected duct could have been missed by both Mr. and the City Inspector and we haven't heard anything from these folks since that time, over a year ago. Whether or not someone else has been in the attic in that time period is unknown. Again, we regret that this customer hasn't been totally satisfied and we will continue to stand ready to assist and help them in any way we can.

Air Force One AC guys are the best. This is the second time in 7 years that I have had fast, prompt service from AirForce One for UN-expected AC outage. Quick service on a Sunday, with Kevin B actually arriving earlier than promised. What I like about AirForce One is their honesty and integrity. Kevin diagnosed the problem quickly. His manner made me feel like I was getting service as one of A1's family. Thanks for giving me back a cool weekend today!

My repair spanned two consecutive days because the first technician was unable to diagnose my fan relay problem. The second tech had it figured out pretty fast. Once the repairs were complete the air conditioner worked great. I think the price was a tad high but they always get my units back up and running. I've used AF1 AC on several occasions and they are always quick to get out and their employees are always very polite and professional. I would highly recommend AF1 Air Conditioning. Thanks to Dale and Rick for their great work!

I contacted a different company for service and was given two quotes: one for a leak repair for $4500 (I was told that my model was very outdated, that the parts may not be available anymore and that the repair may or may not work), and the other for a new unit (quoted $10,000). I am aware that some companies provide a commission to their employees for selling equipment such as new AC units. I decided to call Air Force One for a second opinion because of substantial quotes I had received from the other company. Ari Force One was initially scheduled to come out the day following my phone call, but didn't make it until a day later. They repaired the leak (for $1500) in a timely and very professional manner and the air conditioning in my business is now working great. I would definitely call them FIRST the next time I need service again.

After hearing time and time again that our old system was too small, improperly installed, and insufficiently ducted, we called Air Force One based in part on Angie's List reviews. Chester took the time to explain why our system struggled to cool our home, and what it would take to keep us comfortable. He gave us three price points for new systems and didn't push us to choose any option. We were given time to look over the options without pressure from AF1. After we chose our options, we scheduled an install date, and Air Force One worked with us on our schedules. The crew that came worked efficiently to remove our old system and install the new. The guys were friendly and answered any questions that came up, and they seemed to enjoy what they were doing - even after spending a couple hours in a hot attic. The old system, trash and debris was loaded up and hauled off rather than being left down on the street. They left our house and yard in the same condition as it was when they arrived. We had pretty much everything replaced - outside unit (condenser/compressor), inside coil (evaporator), furnace, and air handler. Some sections of old ducting were removed as well. Air Force One also installed two new return vents, and they installed a new return duct to pull air from one end of the house back to the air handler. They installed new drain pans and re-routed the condensate drains. Our old system was installed in such a way that regular maintenance required climbing over the units to reach the access panels, and was sitting on top of the ceiling joists. The condensate drain pans were inadequate and the drain lines weren't sloped correctly to properly drain the moisture. The new system is properly suspended from the roof rafters, the drain pans and lines are large enough to handle Texas humidity. Changing filters is no longer a chore, it's a simple matter of opening a small door and swapping them out - it takes less time to do than it does to read this paragraph. Air Force One also installed our new Nest thermostat and helped us get it set up on our wireless network. Our home is much more comfortable, and the cooling is more even throughout the house. We're very happy with the new system and with the quality of the work. We definitely would recommend Air Force One to our friends and neighbors.

This lady called in Dec. saying it was an emergency, she had just fired another Company that was going to charge her $5500 for a mobile home gas furnace and cooling coils with special flue system/roof jack/ roof flashing. Her children and grandchildren are there and it will be 10 degrees and they have no heat! We agreed to install the next day in sleet/snow and 14 degree weather for $3186 and this installation went fine, great heat and no problems. Now the other Company had cut the freon lines to the outside unit, so we went back and hooked up the outside and charged up the freon for $260. Subsequently, both checks bounced and so when she reported that the outside unit had stopped running properly we asked for payment to come out and she apparently called another Company.

Dust and dirt was coming out of the a/c unit on exposed areas. Called Air Force One Jan. 19th. explained the problem. Jan. 20th. service man arrived, checked unit, described problem and solution and gave us a bid. Service man arrived about 8:30 the 21st. He worked, cleaning the inside and outside unit at least 5 hours. He covered and protected all exposed counter surfaces then proceeded to chemically water wash the unit inside and outside. He kept us apprised of every step he did. Would highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: My downstairs heating unit was not coming on when it should. I found if I went into the attic and shut it off and waited it a few moments it would reset and then come on. I had this company install a complete system (heat pump), replacing my older unit that was leaking and used the old Freon. Almost immediately after the install crew arrived, I caught one of the technicians preparing to knock a hole in my wall in order to install an extra return air vent that had NO FILTER!!! He told me he thought there was a filter somewhere else in the wall... What??? A section of sheetrock and a doorframe were removed to get the new unit into the attic. They were left for me to repair. The AC worked through the summer, but the first time the heat was turned on, the unit continued to run in "cool" mode, blowing even colder air into the house. Service call #1: The new thermostat had not been programmed correctly for a heat pump system. The following summer, the AC wouldn't come on. Service call #2: The condensation drain line must be plugged. I was charged a "blow-out" fee plus a service call charge. Not the problem. Service call #3: It must be the drain line sensor. Re-wired so that now only the compressor shuts off. The indoor fan can continues to run so that hot air blows in from the attic even though no refrigerant is circulating. Charged again for service call. Service call #4: Maybe its the fan motor on the outdoor unit. The part is covered under warranty, so I am only charged $300 for labor and a service call. Again, not the problem. Fan works part-time, but shuts off in temperature exceeding about 93F. Service call #... No nevermind. At this point cooler temperatures were coming. Sure enough, when it came time to turn on the heat, the outdoor unit comes on for only a few seconds before shutting off. Again the indoor fan continues to run, this time blowing cold air in from the attic. I no longer care about warranty, and I know AF1 is only going to charge me more money to not fix the problem. I called another company. They had a technician to my house immediately, and he correctly guessed the problem based solely on my verbal description. My system had been overcharged with Freon by 8 lbs., and the compressor was shutting off to prevent damage. Within 30 minutes, he had restored normal pressure, and my system was functioning. How can Freon pressure not be the first thing ANY company checks?!? Not only had AF1 overcharged the Freon, they failed to identify a simple problem in multiple subsequent visits. My experience with this company was a nightmare. I would not recommend them to anyone.
