Description of Work: I was worried that my foundation might need repair, as I had cracks around a window. Arch Foundation looked everything over, took measurements, and told me I didn't need work at this time. There was no charge for the review. I'm so relieved and thankful for their professional survey and reassurance. If I need work in the future, I will certainly call them.

Bryce arrived on time and was very professional in taking measurements and explaining to me the entire process, without making me feel rushed. He provided what turned out to be the best quote, and copies of everything before he left. I actually had the work performed over two months later, but they still honored the original quote, which I thought was great. The office staff was friendly, but a little disorganized. However, Bryce and the crew were very helpful and professional, and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. They also spread dirt in areas of my property that needed, at no extra charge. The structural engineer that Arch sent out was very professional and concise, arrived even a little early on Saturday morning, and only took about 15 minutes to pronounce success. Getting the plumbing report was a little bit of a glitch. I set up a time for Halshall Plumbing to come out to make sure there were no plumbing leaks as a result of the foundation work. They were to call me so that I could meet them at the house, but they did not call me and I was unaware of their arrival. They told me the next day that there were no leaks, and Arch sent me the report.
Description of Work: Company rep completed a site evaluation to determine number of piers needed to raise foundation. On appointed day, the crew arrived, dug holes, installed 7 piers and raised my foundation.

After receiving bids from two others companies recommended by Angie's List, I chose this one because I thought they were more thorough. A professional engineer inspected the foundation before and after the work was done. The only hitch occurred the first day when the workmen discovered that insulation between the floor joists had not been removed from the areas where the work was to be done. Clearly the estimator had not allowed for that. However the company arranged for another contractor to remove the insulation the next day, at their expense, and the foundation work began on the third day. The workmen arrived promptly on the four days required to do the work, were polite, protected the floor over which they had to move and cleaned up nicely each day before leavin
Description of Work: The foundation is pier and beam. Installed 16 block and base piers alongside original piers which were no longer properly supporting the floor. Replaced or installed 16 feet of 2 x 6 floor floor beams where necessary. Installed 15 feet of 2 x 4 bottom sill plate where missing. Re-shimmed entire house with steel shims.

Overall, I would say that it did not go well.
Description of Work: Spoke with Clay at Arch about providing foundation repair to a home I recently purchased (built in 1967). I found Clay to be honest and trustworthy so I agreed to the assessment that my foundation was not level and required 7 steel piers at the front of the home to lift the foundation approximately 2.5 inches. On the day of the job, we immediately noticed that the lifting process was creating more damage inside the home that anyone would consider normal. I'm no expert but one should not expect this much damage within a 5 to10-second period of time. I was literally watching the cracks develop as they were counting to five and "leveling" my foundation. We immediately wanted answers and talked with three people at Arch who all provided no real explanation as to why this specific problem occurred, and were all quick to point out item #6 in their agreement that holds them harmless against any damage to your home which may occur as a result of their services. Item #6 reads: "When repairing foundations, it is possible that sheetrock, wallpaper, plaster, roofing, piping, wiring or other materials may crack, wrinkle, or break. Therefore, it is agreed between Owner and Contractor that this contract does not include repairing or replacing any materials or systems not specifically included in this agreement..." and so on and so forth. Trust me when I say that everyone involved with Arch can either point to or recite this part of their agreement word for word. I find that to be more than just a little telling of what they expect to happen and the potential problems you might be facing upon using their service, i.e. it's your problem, not ours. So, the damage is done, inside and out. I have large cracks in the corners of my front living area from ceiling to floor, at least a dozen other cracks elsewhere in the area (some ceiling to floor), and I have large, lengthy cracks along the exterior of the home (brick) in multiple locations, all of which are directly related to Arch's foundation work. I have hired a Structural Engineer to provide an independent assessment of the situation and get a professional opinion of the work that was done, how it was done, and why it was done, and also assess the additional damage that has occurred, and whether or not it could have been avoided (all questions Arch cannot answer without pointing to #6, as I stated before). In addition, I have filed a complaint with the local BBB.

When we go out to a property we stress to the homeowner when repairing foundation there is always possibility of the sheetrock, wallpaper, plaster, roofing, piping, wirign or other materials may crack, wrinkle or break in the process. In this case the home had some previous interior work done, so when we lift the foundation it caused the previous cracks to resurface. If it was the the negligence of Arch Foundation Repair, we would take full responsibility and make those repairs to satisfy our customer. We do have a structual engineer go out to the property before and after the work is completed. I am sorry this customer was not satisfied with our services, but we strive to do our best and accommodate our customer in a timely and professional manner.

On March 13,2012 Arch Foundation Repair Installed 17 Steel Piers(14 inside and 3 outside) in my property. Javier(Foreman) was very professional and answer every question I asked him. I thought there is no way they'll be able to get this foundation fixed properly. After the job was done I was very pleased with the work they did. The only negative thing was that I had to wait 3 month before they came out due to them being over booked. This is a 4-plex and I had 3 vacant apartments so no $$$$ coming in, other than that I'm happy with the work they did. Thank you Javier and Crew for a job well done.

I had received multiple bids from several providers. They were all over the board saying that I needed up to 42 concrete piers. I thne secured an independent engineers report who said I only needed 14 piers. Arch's initial review was actually the closest one to the engineers report. Also, the general manager, Clay McClintock was very patient and explained his process and the need for steel vs. concrete piers in the Flower Mound area. He also answered numerous other emails and questions as I evaluated all the proposals. Although, my engineer said the steel piers were not actually necessary, he did say they were superior to the pressed concrete pilings that the other providers wanted to install. Since the cost was only a few hundred dollars more and since Arch was so helpful in the process, I went with Arch and have been satisfied with the work they did. The crews were quick, professional and cleaned up well. The only negative part of the experience was I had to contact them a couple of times to get the final engineers report upon completion and the warranty paperwork. However, they did provide it to me. I would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: Company installed 14 multi wall steel pilings under my foundation in accordance with independent engineers report.

My ex-wife is a realtor, so she had them give a really good realtor discount. They were very good. They were prompt. They seemed to know their product. I liked the guarantee. It was a life time warranty. They really cleaned up very well. I would use them again in the future.

Everything went OK as far as I know. They guarantee their work for life even if I sell my home it carries on. At the present time I've had no problems of any recurrence of the same problem we had before. So at this time it seems like an excellent job.

Getting the information from their office concerning before and after readings, warranty work, and the final packet of documents has been a less than pleasant experience. The current office manager has cited the amount of time it takes to get the information back, she only does packets on Fridays, she sent it to our email address as well as physical mail (we received neither), and "we have problems sending to certain email addresses" as excuses as to why we have not received our information after our 3rd request. It is now six weeks after the work has been done and after telling her this is unacceptable over the phone, we now have an email and .PDF file of the information.
Description of Work: The company came out on the day promised and did the initial evaluation and readings. We scheduled an appointment shortly afterward for them to do the work. The crew was professional. Reviewed the work they were to do with the crew boss before they started. They finished in a day and cleaned up the yard and work area. We are very happy with the work they did.

We have attempted to contact member several times to try and apologize for the experience he had with our company. We know that sometimes issues arise, but always want to find a way to satisfy our customers when they do. With that in mind, we very much regret the experience the member had with us. The standard time-line for receiving warranty paperwork is about 2-3 weeks from when the work is completed. We still agree that he should not have had to make multiple requests to receive the warranty paperwork and that he should have received it quicker, but believe that we have implemented sufficient internal changes so those same issues will not occur again. When a customer calls us for a foundation inspection, they receive a thorough and professional evaluation of their property with an exact plan of repair. We truly value our reputation and work diligently to provide our customers with excellent service and accurate repairs.

Contacted Arch Foundation Repair in March and their first appointment was in early May. I made the appointment, even though it was a long wait because they had been recommended to me. They called me on the day they were scheduled to come out and told me that they had made a mistake on which city my home was in, and they could not keep the appointment made approximately two months in advance. If I wanted them to come out, I would need to reschedule--and it would be another month. I understand that mistakes can be made, but I think they should have done more to try to reschedule sooner, and they should have noticed the error sooner. Apparently now in 2010 there have been changes in the front office and I have been contacted by the new personnel and they have apologized for the missteps in the past and have convinced me that this kind of problem will not occur in the future. The new office administrators seem determined to provide excellent customer service and to quickly address any problems should they occur. I have a more positive view of the company at this time.
