 + 1 moreA Bit of Country (Charles Rhodes) first removed the mantels and the thresholds, which were marble, and prepared the walls. He worked alone and did the removal work in two days -- one for each of the fireplaces. When I came home each night after this work, everything had been cleaned up. There was no dust or debris anywhere. Then he installed the stone on the walls, from floor to ceiling, and he did it in such a way that you cannot see any pattern. The results area amazing. The fireplaces have gone from being old-stype and not interesting to breathtaking walls that are works of art in themselves. I was pleased with the work and the price, and I'm happy now everytime I see those walls.
Description of Work: The contractor remodeled two fireplaces for me. He removed the old mantels and thresholds and then covered the entire wall, from ceiling to floor, with stone (different kinds for each fireplace).

 + 5 moreGreat results. Hence, we call them all the time for projects. Charles is a careful craftsman. He has remodeled homes for us, painted and repaired our homes inside and out, hung chandeliers, gotten rid of termites, installed pumps in the crawl space and fans in the attic, refinished furniture, etc., etc. He is reliable, and his prices are reasonable.
Description of Work: A Bit of Country Remodeling and its principal, Charles Rhodes, has done remodeling and handyman work for us for years and most recently in June 2010.
