The problem started on 7/5/10. We called our home warranty company and they sent the claim to UR First. Initially we were told they weren't available to come out until the next day, and then I got a call about an hour later from their tech, who was at our front door (we were not at home). I rushed home to meet him, and by the time I got there they had already replaced a capacitor in the outside unit which seemed to repair the problem. The A/C worked for a few weeks, and then stopped cooling the air again on 7/18/10. I called the warranty company again and was told to contact UR First directly to set up a recall appointment. I called and left a message and never never got a call back. I called again 3 or 4 hours later, and was told they don't work on Sundays but that they would have someone out for me the next morning. The tech didn't show up until 7:30 Monday evening, He discovered that a connector had come loose, and reattached it with a zip tie. This worked for about 30 minutes and the A/C quit again. Several more calls to the home warranty and toi UR First later, I was again told they would be out the next morning. They finally got around to us at 6pm the next day. This time, they brought several technicians out and spent about two hours working on the unit. It worked great for about 2 hours, then it popped and overloaded the breaker box and blew out the power for the whole house, and again quit working. After that I called the warranty company and insisted they send another vendor. Update: When the tech from the new vendor came out and looked at the unit, he discovered that not only did UR First not fix the problem, but they actually broke it irreparably. Apparently, on their last visit they replaced the loose connector with a generic connector kit, and broke a terminal. The entire unit was dead and had to be replaced.
Description of Work: Attempted to repair our A/C condenser when it stopped cooling air.
