Description of Work: I needed a water connection from the wall to the refrigerator installed when moving into a new home. It is so simple and should be relatively inexpensive that I called Joe the Plumber as I was stressed with all the other efforts of moving. Joe the Plumber took my call and said that they could have a plumber at my house in about two hours. I was impressed when the plumber arrived on time. It went downhill from there. First, he did not have the supplies on the truck to do the work, even though I said that it was simply installing the hose to a refrigerator to the dispatcher. Then he dropped the bomb. He said he could install it for slightly over $200. I don't remember the exact amount I was so appalled, it was between $200 and $220. When I blurted out why so high, he started telling me about what all it would involve, as though I was an idiot. I agreed to the service, but after he left I immediately called the dispatcher to contact him that I did not want the work done. I went to Ace hardware and bought the supplies, hose and adapter, for less than twenty dollars. I installed the hose and had water to the frig in well under thirty minutes. I cannot say anything about the quality of work that he might have done, but I was not impressed that he did not have the basic supplies when he arrived and then tried to snow me with all the work that was involved.

 + -1 moreIt was an outstanding. For responsiveness, they were fine. They are our plumber of record now. What I liked about them was that they responded promptly, they were honest and well-priced. The worker was a senior citizen that was just outstanding. I think this was the second or third time we’ve used them. We actually replaced our original plumber, it had kind of came apart at the seams there, after a quite a few years of using them. We went to Joe The Plumber, they are our plumber now.
Description of Work: He replaced a valve on an outside spigot that was leaking. Actually he replaced the valve, but there was also a broken pipe right in that same place that he repaired and got us back on line.

David was at my house for two full days and made sure all work was completed to my satisfaction. He was professional, tidy, pleasant, and answered all my questions. A+!!

 + 0 moreThey were fine. They came out and fixed a couple of problem. They replaced the water heater. It was about to rust out and they probably saved us our ceiling by doing that. He had a pretty good price. We used him twice, this was the first time. The second time he put PVC pipe in our irrigation system. He came out and did that for us.

 + 0 moreI called Joe the Plumber and they were able to get to me very promptly. Kid arrived and was able to assess the situation and give me a good estimate. After a lot of digging, we figured out that the leak was coming from a pipe that was not accessible due to it running under a tree. The new plan became to run a new line form the house to the meter out front. This did require a bit more money, but because Kid called in for some assistance, the job was able to be completed in one day. I am very pleased with their professionalism and service. I'll be a repeat customer for sure and will recommend them to anyone who needs a plumber.
Description of Work: I had water accumulated on my front lawn that was bubbling from the water line buried there. Because my original line was run underneath a tree and they were unable to get to the leak, the new plan became to disconnect the old line and run a new one with a better configuration from my house to the meter out front.

 + 1 moreevery interaction with them was excellent and professional. Their service team explains what needs to be done very clearly. Couple of examples: 1. We had a water heater leak on a Saturday immediately before we were going out of town. The arrived on the same day I called and replaced the water heater. They cleaned up afterwards got the job done. 2. We had them come out to replace all of our bathroom fixtures. Some of the parts we purchased did not quite fit our existing tub and shower structure. He figured out how to make them fit without us having to rip out any tile. Saved us a big headache. He also advised us on what types/brands of fixtures we should consider, based upon their repair experience. I would recommend Joe the plumber to anyone!
Description of Work: We have hired Joe the Plumber for a variety of plumbing needs including: replacing water heater, installation of bath shower, tub and sink fixtures, and installation of automatic valves.

 + -1 moreHe was good, very very good. We used them for a hot water replacement 10 years ago, we still had their number and called them. I would highly recommend them. Just under $500 including, they had to replace a bathroom tub faucet. We had to buy the faucet and the things that go with it. Absolutely came out right away. Emergency no extra charge. Some of them charge you an extra fee, an extra fee emergency/trip fee/after hours fee, and he doesn't. He gave us an estimate and he left. He said if you want me to come do it, call me back and I will do it, no pressure. A lot of them they make you pay for a service call and they apply it towards the cost of the work, but he was not that way. He just told us what it was going to cost, and he even said if you want to go buy the fixture your self it will be cheaper than me getting it. We were trying to replace it with the fixture we had which was old and needed to be special ordered. He worked with us. I am glad that we found him, because we have lived with dripping faucets for a year, so I'm glad we got him to do it. My husband was here with him, it took him half of a day, 4 or 5 hours. My husband was very impressed, he cleaned up very well after himself. They are doing everything okay.

 + -1 moreThe quote was for moving an existing water heater, extending the current water line about 10ft, and attaching overflows to existing drain lines that were in place to the outside of the building. The plumber would cut a hole in the roof but I would have to hire a roofer to finish out the flue hole. The service tech was pleasant. The quote for this work was unbelievable, $2,595,00. In comparison, two years ago I purchased a new water heater, removed the old one, and installed the new water heater for about $1200.00. I declined the proposal. I rated F overall due to the price - I didn't use them so I can't rate their quality.
Description of Work: I requested a quote to move a 40 gallon water heater about 10-15 feet from its current location.

 + -1 moreThese guys play a good con game if you let them. They get you to agree on a price based on some grim story about your plumbing. In our case, the job was gonna take all day (maybe two+), require additional staff to dig the humongous hole, and we would be without water for potentially 2+ days. The job was going to cost $600. Of course, we agreed. Well, after one hour, the guy called, the job was done. ONE HOUR! We asked if the pricing reduced since the estimate was so much higher than the work actually required. No. We agreed to the price. That was it. When we called the owner to dispute the charges, he sided with his employee. With these guys, professional service and respect for the customer is a part-time affair. From other reviews, I gather that you just don't know if the con will be done to you or not.
Description of Work: We have an exterior leak at the faucet, about 4-6 inches below the ground.

 + -1 moreThese guys took me to the bank. They're very expensive. They fixed the problem to be fair, they showed up on time, the guy was professional, it was probably not his fault that they charged so much. I wouldn't call them again, that's for sure. To be exact, here's what happened. The guy went over to fix a leak, nowadays they don't use PVC pipe, they use like this water hose thing, he found like another leak, like 4 inches apart, he just basically cut a big piece, which contained both leaks, so you would think okay he fixed the leaks, no. Since there was two holes in piece of PVC pipe that they cut, they charged me for two leaks like fixing two leaks, that's what ticked me off about them.

 + -1 moreI didn't like them at all. He basically caused one of my things to leak and wanted to charge me for a new one and I pointed that out to him more than once. The only thing that he could do was to try and give me a discount on the labor of one, and I needed more than that because he broke it to begin with. The guy who came out the first time was good but then the guy who came out after that was not so much. I didn't even bother using them again. I used Red Lion Plumbing after that. I do not recommend them to anyone. They should not have broken my hot water heater and let me pay for a new one.

Description of Work: Replace broken pcv supply pipe in laundry room. Broke off at wall. Did not have pcv supplies on truck. Took less than 30 minutes of actual work bot charged in excess of $400, which included an Angie's List coupon. Overpriced and plumber acted liked this was going to be such a difficult job, but yet it took less than 30 minutes.

 + -1 moreI feel that I was taken advantage of. The technician described to me an all day repair and was done in less than 90 minutes. A good person would have charged me just for the 90 minutes plus parts. The next day I spoke with someone at the company about the situation. They said that the supervisor or owner would be calling me to discuss but they never did.
Description of Work: My mother's water line broke last Saturday and I could not get over there to fix it so I used Angie's list to find Joe the Plumber. They were very responsive, arriving within 2 hours. The technician told me over the phone about the water line break and explained that it was a time consuming thing to fix. The explained in detail that he would have to dig several feet to make the repair and that he might not be able to fix it same day but he would try. He told me the cost was $627. I agreed and paid him before he started working with a credit card. Less than 90 minutes later he calls me with news that the line was repaired and he is finished. While I was very happy with the quick work, I asked if he was still charging me the $627, since he had finished so quickly. He said he was still charging me the full $627 and reminded me that I had agreed to the amount.
