Flaherty's Flooring America

This review pertains to the Woodlands store location. Once we were finally able to get in touch with the people at the store, everything went great. The first time we stopped by the store, it was 4:30pm, and they were closed, despite their posted store hours indicating that they were open that day until 5pm. Then, there was a small miscommunication in confirming with us exactly which day the work was to begin, but this ended up being no big deal. The prices were competitive, and again, once we actually starting dealing with the folks that work there, we realized that they are very professional. The installation went very smoothly, with no surprises. And do yourself a favor, if you are in the Woodlands area, go ahead and request that Jonathan perform your installation. We couldn't have asked for a more skilled and professional person to do the job. The finished product is remarkable, and we are thrilled with how our new floors look.

We had no experience with any of this and joined Angie's List for help and that was the smartest move we've made. I researched Angie's List, spent 2 weeks checking out companies and found Flaherty's Flooring America in Cypress. We loved working with Patrick and Carl in the store, the tile team and William and Michael with the laminate floors. All were professional, prompt and friendly people to have working in my home. They were careful moving furniture around and knowledgeable with any bump in the road that came up. In the store Patrick, Customer Service Manager helped us with our choices. Carl, Design/Sales was outstanding in explaining and answering all of my questions. He also was valuable in helping me "see" what I wanted and whether it would work or not. When it came to the material and work estimate phase, they came in over budget. But Carl understood our budget issues, readjusted the costs and met us at our budget. Preparing for remodeling like this is like a moving adventure. Everything is chaotic and up-side-down and Flaherty's worked promptly and efficiently to help us get things back to normal as quickly as possible. We love our new floors and highly recommend choosing Flaherty's for your flooring needs.

We wanted to replace carpet with more pet friendly flooring in our home office media room and stairwell. We searched Angie'slist for several companies and stopped by Flaherty's late one evening (about 5 minutes before closing). Even though it was close to closing time Tracy chatted with us and never made us feel as though she was in a hurry to get us to leave even though the store was closing. We came back several days later and discussed our needs with Tracy and selected several products. One particular tile we wanted to get a sample to bring home. The floor sample wasn't in the store but we were promised that Tracy would call and get the sample returned and call us when it came back to the store. When the sample came back we were called promptly. We picked up sample and when we brought it back we scheduled a measurement appointment. Floors we expertly measured and once done we received a prompt estimate. We finalized the products and received our quotes. On e we had quotes we brought in our down payment and we were contacted the following week to schedule the jobs. To our surprise installation was to begin that Friday. We had three separate jobs. Tile, Carpet and laminate. Each crew was scheduled on separate days. The crews were prompt professional, courteous and did an excellent job. The had us check each product prior to the start of the installation kept us informed of what they were doing, moved furniture and each time we checked the progress would let us look at the flooring as they progressed through the job. Once done each crew cleaned the room, floor and furniture back in place. From our first interaction with Tracy to working with Kim who scheduled the jobs to the installation crews everything was professional. And when I called Kim after the laminate was installed to ask a question about the last job and their was a scheduling conflict Kim made sure what had been promised was done. Excellent service products and pricing.

Shopping for carpet at this place was a little frustrating. They have a good selection, but it seemed our sales person dealt with a lot of confusion regarding "prices not being in the computer." Finally, we chose the carpet at another place and were pleased to see that Flaherty's was able to order it at a better price. They worked extra hard to get several sample boards for us and provided us with all the options we needed to make our decision. Since this installation involved a border, the owner and his expert installer came to measure and plan the installation. When we were ready to install, the men showed up about 1 1/2 hours later than we expected. They said they had had to go by the warehouse and didn't anticipate so much traffic. After that they were always on time. The broadloom carpet was stretched and the border was applied to the edges and the entire thing power stretched into place. Because the room was not perfectly square, there are slight imperfections in the border matching in one corner. This was reworked once and improved but is still not perfect. We are satisfied with it and feel that the slight imperfections are not noticeable unless you are really looking for them.

EXCELLENT!! The crew they sent were awsome guys and they did a WONDERFUL job our hardwood floors are BEAUTIFUL!

I can't say enough good things about the installation crew of Sam and Scott. Their attention to detail and the flooring prep were amazing to watch for this do it yourself person. I almost installed my own flooring, but after study on the web and watching them do the install, I am very happy that they did the install. I'm so happy with their work that I'm going to have them do my stairs. There were some communication issues with the Cypress office, but Sam and Scott helped me with those.

Wow! We have had flooring work done before but never by such a professional efficient crew! Patrick, and Rebecca made sure we had everything ready and understood before the crew showed up and when they did they were in and out in a day and a half. My most important requirement was to remove the squeaks in the floor for my master bed room, so I spent a little more but they really succeeded. This is a flooring provider I will definitely call again in the future.

They did a wonderful job installing hardwood floors and carpet in our house. The staff at The Woodlands store is very professional and went out of their way to help us decide what would look best. We appreciated their input and the floors look great. The installation crew for the hardwood floors was very thorough and careful. One benefit in using them was that they moved all the furniture.

Company owner arrived on time after calling to let me know he was on his way. Project was to be the replacement of shower floor tile. I was told I would be required to sign a waiver for the project because the tile removal could damage the concrete and shower pan beneath. He suggested replacing the entire enclosure, walls and floor. He took measurements and advised that he would email me the costs involved for both projects. I did not hear back from him.

From in home estimate, store selection service, and installation, the entire experience was a 10-The Clarks are THE BEST!

He arrived when promised and was professional and courteous.

The price I received was comparable to the one I received from Sears, however, after I received Sears' quote, I asked the estimator, " That price does include shoe molding, doesn't it?" He responded, " Oh, you wanted shoe molding?" I didn't want to play this game with Sears so I accepted the Flaherty's quote, confident that there would be no surprises and I was right. I'm very glad I did.

I would highly recommend Flaherty's Flooring America. The sales rep we worked with was Anne Thacker, and she did a wonderful job of narrowing down the seemingly endless number of hardwood flooring choices available in the store. Since we have a dog and young kids, my husband and I kept going back and forth over whether to get laminate or hardwood. After sending us home with a few large samples and her design advice as a fellow pet-owner, we decided to go with a beautiful plank, handscraped/distressed, hardwood hickory floor for our family room, dining room and study. It looks GORGEOUS in our home and makes the rooms look so much more spacious! (It's also a lot easier to take care of because all the little imperfections in the flooring make you relax about life with kids and a pet!) The best part is that we received a discounted price because of the volume of flooring that we required for our project - approximately 860 square feet. (This particular flooring was on clearance and they were trying to move it out of their inventory to make room for new designs/products.) Flaherty's sent one of their in-house, two-man crews to install the flooring, and I was impressed with their level of professionalism, as well as their efficiency in completing the project. They moved all the furniture for us - very carefully, I might add - and did their best to keep the disruption to our family life at a minimum. They laid each plank with great attention to detail and hand-stained all the transitions and shoemolding. I admit I was a little skeptical that two men could complete the project in under a week, but they finished the installation in just three days - and one of those days was stormy! The only hiccup we experienced was related to a carpet tuck that needed to be finished (where carpet and wood flooring meet) and one piece of shoemolding that was missing from an easy-to-miss corner. The original crew came back promptly the next week to install the missing shoemolding, but the carpet-tuck guys (a separate crew) were a little harder to wrangle due to a scheduling miscommunication. It eventually all worked out, and the carpet-tuck was done very professionally, especially considering a small piece of carpet had been ripped out accidentally. The repair was flawless. I think it also helped that we withheld the final check until everything was completed to our satisfaction - something that Anne was more than happy to accommodate. She even sent us a tin of some of the best cookies I've ever had as a token of appreciation. Finally, just to help anyone who may have questions about getting an estimate.....our estimate included all measurements priced out with our desired flooring choice, as well as all transitions, shoemolding, staining and carpet tucks. It was also noted in our estimate that the price did NOT include floor prep, priced at $45 per bag of float, because the installation crews don't know how much they'll need until they start ripping out carpet and evaluating the slab. Anne made this very clear to us, so there weren't any surprises for us. It's now been six months, and we're still very happy with our choice.

Flaherty's helped with the selection considering the durability due to pets as well as the price point. They were helpful and knowledgeable. The installation went smoothly, only two days from start to finish.

David is the man that came and he was wonderful. He called back right away. He showed up on time and was very helpful. These days just showing up on time is a big plus. He had a lot of ideas that I didn't think of, and they were excellent.

The installer were a delightful crew, directed by Kevin,They made a rather messy job easier to deal with of being prompt,good at their job and fun to be around.

We wanted two carpeted rooms replaced with hardwood to match the rest of the house. Everything from initial contact to finishing details was excellent. The installers were particularly good, making sure the concrete sub-floor was at a low enough moisture level to allow the glue to adhere despite having to rearrange other jobs to do so. Great job. I would use them again.

It was terrific and they were great. Unfortunately, none of the same people work there. I did go in within the last year just to greet them and none of them were there. The work was excellent. They were terrific to work with and they did great work in a timely manner. The crew was wonderful. They did a great job but I thought that it was very expensive. I would definitely use them again but I don't have any floor left since they did 100 percent of it.

They came and installed the laminate within a few days of ordering. I felt comfortable leaving their employee while I worked. He worked quickly and had the carpet removed and laminate installed in two days. They came back later and finished tacking down the carpet and changing a trim for an odd shaped built in for my room based on my preference. Everything was left clean.

Overall, the experience was good. Their price was fair. One of the managers came by to check everything out, then checked it out once the work was complete. The technicians had alot of heavy items to move, which they did, then put the items back once the floor was installed.They did a great job.

Arrived at store to discuss work. The salesperson really wasn't interested in giving us a quote and was interested in pushing their products. More interested in the customer that drove a Mercedes that arrived afterwards. Unfortunate as we had the cash ready for the work. Price was $9,000 more than other two quotes.

They were very kind and very good. Their price was little high. They were very professional and they showed up when they said they would. I might consider in using them in the future but they were considerably higher in price.

The workers were professional and explained everything. The floor looks good , however the sheen of the new flooring is different from the original. In retrospect I wish I had decided to have all the flooring replaced and then it would all be the same. It was my decision so I don't blame anyone but myself for that. I was happy with the work done by Flaherty, but in the estimate they mentiioned that the "float" would be $45.00 per bag, but did not add anything to the estimate for that amount. The check from the insurance company therefore did not include The $225.00 for that and we had to pay it in addition to our deductible of $2900. Also, They did not inlcude painting and finishing the moulding in the estimate so we had to handle that after the floor was done (at extra cost also). I would have preferred for the esitmate to include everything as it would have cost us less and been a lot less trouble. If I ever have the situation again I will kow to tell them to include everything in the estimate.

Patrick, Kelly and Kim provided wonderful support going into the project and kept me informed throughout. The installation team were truly skilled artisans when it came to the installation. I had another company come in and install the bathroom fixtures and they mentioned they had never seen someone be so meticulous in regards to laying down the stone. The work took a little bit longer but it was very much worth it. The grout lines and tile cuts are those of a skilled craftsman. After the installation the team did a great job putting the furniture back and showing me the work that they had done. I would highly recommend using their services and plan to use them when I redo the master bedroom and master bath next year. Great Job!!!!
