TL:DR: Good quality fence, good price. Bid and install processes were poor, and one of the gate latches still does not work properly. It all started on March 2nd, when an estimator came to my home, made measurements, and promised a quote. When I received the quote, it did not mention the brand or model of fence being bid. I contacted the estimator, who gave me a fence name and supplier, but neither the brand nor manufacturer. Fortunately, the supplier told me those things, enabling me to contact the manufacturer. That's when I learned the fence would only have a three year warranty around a salt pool! Needless to say, I asked the estimator to try again with a product with a better warranty. He did, but failed to answer some of my questions about it. When I complained, I was told it was a miscommunication, and that they would bid a third product that could save me money. Why they didn't bid that earlier I can't say. The third product looked good, and I signed the contract on April 5th. On May 1st, installation began. However, after the crew left, I realized they were installing the wrong type of fence, a cheaper model. I immediately asked that they stop installation and remove the fencing. I was first told the manufacturer had sent the wrong product, but later was told the wrong product was ordered and could not be returned. To their credit, Titan ordered the correct product and, after several delays, installation began on June 20th. The installation was marred by the fact they failed to order a particular bracket. Fortunately, this delayed the work only by a few days. However, as of September 23, I still have a problem. One of the gates does not close properly. The problem is intermittent; often it works okay in the evening, when the ground is warm and dry, and doesn't in the morning, when the ground is cool and damp. Titan adjusted the latch several times, and reset the posts. They also said the fact mowers drive through the fence may contribute to the problem. But it happens even if the mowers haven't been here. They said they'd keep working on it, but it's been over two weeks since I last contacted the owner and no one has shown up. I guess this is as good as it's going to get.
Description of Work: I needed to replace an existing steel fence surrounding a salt pool and its equipment, and an aluminum fence partially surrounding a dog yard.

Titan Fence is a company with great integrity. I would absolutely recommend them. We own a house in Dallas, and a custom homebuilder hired Titan Fence to build a new fence between my house and the new house. The fence is both beautiful and distinctive ? definitely not your standard ?builder grade? fence. However, to build the fence the work crew needed to unhook some posts that were shared between my fence and the fence on the new house. And somehow, when the crew was wrapping up, they failed to reattach my fence to the newly built fence. Honest mistake. However, my fence was rather old and not in great shape to begin with, and without the support posts, the fence started to collapse and fall apart. Obviously I wasn?t happy about the possibility of having to spend a lot of money fixing up a fence that someone else broke. Fundamentally, I was willing to pay for Titan Fence to remove my old fence that was falling over (and no longer needed due to the new fence that had been built), and then rebuild a new section between the new fence and my house. I spoke with someone at Titan Fence, and initially there were some communication challenges in trying to get to an acceptable resolution. However, after I spoke with Jeff, he immediately took responsibility for the damage that their crew caused, and agreed to rebuild the fence for an acceptable price as I had requested. The crew came out the next week to begin the work. Everyone makes mistakes. It was refreshing to find a company that took responsibility and made the situation right. And by the way their work was fantastic. I would absolutely recommend Titan Fence, both for their craftsmanship and also their integrity.
Description of Work: Removed an old fence and rebuilt a new section of fence to connect to the neighbor's fence.

I called my salesman, Roger Dowell, and told him that the main entry gate on the fence they had installed had sagged and was now difficult to open and close. I also said that there were a large number of nails that had "popped up" and that I needed for them to be reseated into the wood. He said they would do that for me, but he would need an email from me to put in the work order, so I did that (on September 7th) and repeated what needed to be done. When they had finished the fence Roger did tell me that the nails may loosen, but just call them and they would take care of it. My first mistake was thinking that this was just a normal follow up to their fence installation. A week later (September 11th) he called me back and said that "Tim" would be at my house sometime that day. I told Roger I had an appointment but would leave the gate unlocked in case he came while I was not there. My second mistake was not insisting on at least a time frame for his arrival so that I could be present. I was gone from the house for a little over an hour, When I returned, Tim was getting back in his truck and, although he saw me coming into the driveway, he immediately drove off without waiting to talk with me or giving me a chance to review his work. I went to the fence and saw that instead of actually adjusting the gate, he had simply moved the latch down a half inch. Obviously, this does not fix the problem ... it just alleviates the symptom. I also noticed that he had not reattached the wood that had pulled away from the jamb area of the gate, although in truth I had not specifically asked that he do that, it was pretty obvious to the eye. However, it did appear that he had gone around the fence and gotten most of the protruding nail heads re-hammered. On the evening of September 17th I opened an invoice sent by email that had the Date of the invoice as September 15th and the Due Date as September 17th with the threat of a finance charge if the bill was not paid on time. The amount was $350. The next morning I called Roger. The first thing I mentioned was the Due Date and he did say that was a mistake. I told him I thought the amount was extravagant for the time and work done and that I was not happy that the gate was not actually fixed at all and that over time it would just continue to sag. The invoice actually said that the work done was to "adjust front entry gate" when actually it was only the latch that was adjusted. His only response was to ask what I thought the charge would be. I told him I had just recently paid a trip charge of $65 and an hourly charge of $85 for a locksmith and I thought that was OK. He then told me that their trip charge was $350 so they hadn't really charged me for any work. I would hope they plan their workers better than to send someone to Dallas just for one job. Even if they did, $350 for a trip charge is outrageous. I might have felt less "taken" if the gate had actually been properly repaired. I told Roger that it was probably my own fault for not asking exactly what they intended to charge so I would just go ahead and send the check for $350. It does seem to me that if a company charges $350 for just a trip charge, they should have the decency to let the customer know that. I also told him that if I had any other fence work to do, I would be calling someone else. I had already recommended them to another person who did hire them to do their fence. I will now warn them that if they need any follow up work done they should be very careful before they hire Titan. I will not be recommending them to anyone else.
Description of Work: This was a follow up request to do some maintenance on the fence that Titan had installed. That installation went well and I give them high marks for that, however, the follow up support request did not go as I would have expected.

We told our builder we wanted a minimum 7 ft privacy fence with an automatic gate for our new home. The only question we were asked prior to the fence going up was if we wanted a gap between the wood slats or if we wanted the slats to abut each other with no gap between. Of course we said no gap in between the slats (which we have stated multiple times. Since this was our first time building a home/fence we put our trust in both our builder and his subcontractors. Once this fence went up, we were completely underwhelmed. Some of the wood slats were cut in half from 4 inches to roughly 2 inches (who does that?) and there were huge gaps in between the wood slats which provided no privacy. But the most annoying thing was that the metal posts were set about 8 feet apart. This caused the fence to be extremely unstable. In some areas it started to bow and the door were almost impossible to open after only 3 months of use. We had a walk through and expressed our concerns with the large gaps in between the slats and the attempt to correct it did not suffice. We have since had 4 different fencing companies come out to assess the fence and ALL of them stated that this is a horribly built fence: from the placement and type of door hinges used to the cutting of wood slats from 4 to 2 inches to the placement of the posts at 8 feet apart. We feel like we were taken advantage of by both our builder and Titan Fence. We are not surprised that Titan Fence did not put there business sign on our fence as they have with a few fences they built in our neighborhood. This shows us that they are not happy and proud of their job themselves but will expect us to accept and live with it. We have been trying to get them out for the past month and a half to fix an issue with the automatic gate and they are impossible to get a hold of via our warranty process.

Response from Titan Fence
Unfortunately, this issue and breakdown in communication was between the builder and the homeowner, not Titan Fence. Titan built the fence to the specs the builder provided before the house was sold. We have built the same fence for many other houses in the same neighborhood. All of those customers have been 100% satisfied with the quality of the fences and work. Titan went out 3 times after the builder sold the house to change out some boards the new homeowner was not happy with and fix the automatic gate. Someone else had attempted to adjust the automatic gate operator and broke it. Titan fixed all of these items under warranty and at no additional charge. This is an unfortunate situation that could have been resolved with better communication up front. Titan fence is very happy and proud of every fence we build. We take customer service and fence quality very seriously and stand by all of our fences.

Excellent! I'd used Titan before thanks to Angie's List, and called on them again. Brent came out, did a quote, and got the job done within a week. No hassle, no fuss. Great fence, great work. I'd also note that a lot of Angies List recommended fence companies didn't even bother to come to my house to quote me for this job. Some promised to come by, others said outright they just weren't interested. Good for them that $1400 for one day's work isn't interesting.

Description of Work: I contacted Titan Fencing by email...waited a full week and then called to see if they had ever received it...they had and I was assured that someone would be calling me back soon. (I verified that they had my correct phone number)...another week passed...I called them back again and was told that a manager would get back to me by day's end...still no call. I have not called again as I am unwilling to pursue a company that obviously does not want my business. I know this has been a busy year for fence companies...but I could still have received a call telling me such and to schedule a bid at a later date.

The overall experience was very frustrating and not good at all. I will not use this company again.
Description of Work: Workers were very unprofessional, there were no communications to why the workers were leaving after only 2 hours of work on first day.The start date was delayed, the finished date was 2 days late. After the job was finished, we discovered one of our sprinkler system bronken. I contacted the foreman and he assured me they were going to repair the sprinkler system. Meanwhile, we couldn't water the lawn, flowers and the plants for 5 days. I had to contact the foreman each day to get the sprinkler system repair. The lawn and the everything else were almost dead before they finally decided to repair the sprinkler system. Very unprofessional from follow up stand point to responsiveness.

I can't say enough good about Titan. Brent Scott has been extremely patient throughout the entire process, and has been a consumate professional. We had an issue with a neighbor on a section of shared fence, and Brent was polite when dealing with him. He offered advice in navigating the circumstances, and always deferred to my call as the one paying for the work. I have recommended Titan, and Brent specifically, to other neighbors and family members who have experienced the same level of top-notch work. Once the permit was issued by the city, they were here next day, and had the whole thing done, stain and all, within a day and a half. Their crew was professional, polite, and cleaned up afterwards. I would call Titan any time I needed fence work, or any other work they were able to perform. I recommend them with confidence.

I came to know about Titan Fence through Angie's list. They did a good job. Their quality of workmanship is good. They seemed to come up with a best price. The first group that came out to take the fence down did not know English, so you could not really communicate with them so well. A one of the guy among them knows English and you can communicate with him. I would use their service in the future too.

I crosschecked several companies in the Denton TX area, source was Angie's List and Yahoo YP. Titan had the best price and, due to excellent craftsmanship and materials, best value. Sent the following email to Titan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Your guys did a great job. 1. Started the job the next day after we spoke - probably not typical and I wouldn't lay odds, but still pleased 2. Very surprised you're able to dismantle and erect 172' 8' fence in 2 days, including removing and setting new posts 3. Craftsmanship is excellent 4. No pharting around, professional behaviour, steady workers. 5. The guys who came the 1st day worked their butts off. I was humbled to watch them work so hard. Please give them a pat on the back. You will be getting an excellent review on Angie's List. Well Done. Regards, Rick ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We were in desperate need of a new fence and received 6 estimates from 6 different companies. TITAN fence was the first one we received and we got a fantastic vibe. They were on time for the estimate and they emailed it to us the very next day. We had asked that every charge could be broken out so we could see what we were paying for i.e. stain, each side of fence, rot board etc. and they were more than happy to do that for us. We continued to get estimates after and they were much higher in cost, the people were late and so forth. It took us about a week and a half to make a decision on who to go with and in that time TITAN fence was the only company that followed up with us. We called TITAN on Wednesday and gave them the job, they came out the very next day removed the current fence and set the poles. The following day (friday) they put up the panelling and it was done! QUICK, EXACT, GREAT WORKMANSHIP! Didn't pay until work was completed, highly recommend
Description of Work: We took down what we could of the existing fence, and received a $200 discount for doing so. Had a stained spruce fence installed with a 2x6 rot board on the bottom, we had them pound down an inch into the ground and has worked fantastic for the dogs not digging out. The metal pieces and the poles are extremely heavy duty and we have a lifetime warranty on the workmanship

The reason I'm taking the time to write this review is because of the lack of professionalism show to me by Justin, at Titan fence. We had a unique situation where several neighbors were all going in together on several fences at once, mostly because we don't have an alley and therefore share fence lines, so we all had to agree on one vendor. We shopped several different fence companies and I really liked Titan a lot. Because of the size of the project, approx. 900 linear feet of fencing combined in 8' and 6' variants, we were demanding a lower price. I first requested a price with Justin and he agreed to that price over the phone. He then came back and quoted us a price that was $2/ft. higher than what he had agreed to verbally over the phone. When Ace Fence beat his price he finally did come down to match their price, but that was still $1/ft. higher than his verbally agreed price, but I verbally agreed to go with them if he would match Ace Fences price. Shortly after that verbal agreement another homeowner told me that another fence contractor agreed to beat that price by $2/ft. with the same material and construction specs we were asking for so all neighbors agreed that the lower price was the winner. When I informed Justin of this over e-mail he proceeded to write me several e-mails complaining that I had done him wrong and that I should be a man of my word, but ultimately the decision was not only mine to make and he knew this. I wrote him back informing him that he was the first to do us wrong, since we had to twist his arm just to get him to get within $1 of what he had verbally agreed to. Anyway, I know Titan does good work, but I just thought their reaction to losing the job was very unprofessional and helped reassure me that we made the right decision. We have since had our fence completed by NorTex and we are all very happy with the decision. NorTex built us all beautiful, quality crafted fencing and came back promptly after job completion to correct all of the split pickets and other issues. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. Take this for what it's worth, which really isn't much, since it doesn't reflect poorly on Titan's end product.
Description of Work: I was very close to using Titan to build our fence, knowing they had a good reputation. After receiving the contracts from Titan another fence contractor beat them by $2/ft. for a 6' #1 grade cedar board-on-board fence and we went with the other contractor.

Description of Work: This company did the fencing on our new house before we bought it. After we closed, we wanted to use their services to add a gate to the fence. I called and left a message explaining that I would like to do business with them, but they never called back. A week or two later, I called again and spoke with a live person. She wrote down my name and number and said someone would call me back. No one ever did. I have given up trying to get in touch with them and will try someone else.
