This was by far the worst experience with a contractor. We hired this company to do our floors to modernize the house a bit. Since it is concrete, we thought it would be easier to maintain and last longer than any other floor. This was a job that they said would take at the most 5 days, and it turned into a two month project. To top it off they didn't even finish. We decided we no longer wanted their services after we gave them more chances than I can count, to make the job look right. When we began working with them, they said they would begin their day at our home starting at 9:00am or 9:30am, at the latest. If and when they did show up, they wouldn't arrive until 11am, break for lunch at noon and then they would call it a day at 4pm. I would take off work to meet with them in the morning, only for them not to show up. I would leave work early at 4pm to catch them before they leave and they would not be there. Some days I got lucky and was able to speak with them to see their progress. Just walking into the house, I could never tell any progress that was done. They also made promises they would NEVER fulfill. But they were real quick to ask for payment. Half the cost was required to start the project, then they required another 25% even before they polished anything at all. The main contact (owner?) was extremely rude and argumentative when we showed him our concerns on the floor. Our concrete was full of holes (deep holes) from carpet that previously been installed. They refused to fill these holes or to make them look any better. When we finally got them to fill them, they were filled with calking which was all bubbled and completely poor work. Polished concrete floors come with some flaws that add "character" and I get that, but these floors were full of holes, and felt like sandpaper. I would NEVER want to walk on these floors barefoot because it would simply be uncomfortable. There were areas that would probably even cut up someone's foot. With young nieces, nephews, and pets, I would never allow them to walk on these floors because it is simply a hazard. Not to mention there was a foot print that was stained into our concrete. When we brought it to their attention, he told us that it was in the concrete and he would have to go back and start all over again with grinding, polishing, staining, and waxing. I do not want a permanent footprint embedded in my floors that I am paying for. This company did an extremely poor job and I am embarrassed to even have anyone come to my home at this time. I will now have to find another company to come and fix their mistakes, which will be costing me even more money. It has been a long 2 months of stressing and losing sleep over this project, questioning if and when they are going to show up to finish my floors and how much longer it will take before I can move in. I am paying on a house that I have not been able to enjoy yet. We were extremely accommodating letting them use our air condition to make them more comfortable. We are patient people, but our patience ran dry when they made it clear that our house was not a priority. I have attached just a few pictures of the poor work they felt was worth over eight thousand dollars of mine and my spouses hard earned money. I would never wish this experience on anyone.

Response from VR Polished Concrete
Unfortunately Mrs [Member Name Removed]'s review tells only one side of the story. We thoroughly explained to her that we are not able to fill all the tack strip holes. We fill the ones that we can but if the holes are to shallow the concrete filler we use will not grip properly. This was thoroughly explained at the beginning of the job. After the stain and sealer were completed Mrs [Member Name Removed] told us that the color was "absolutely perfect" but she insisted that more of the tack strips be filled. We once again explained that they could not all be filled and we suggested they install shoe moulding to cover the ones that were along the wall. Mrs. [Member Name Removed] became very upset at that point and said that she was already over budget on the floor and she would not spend any more money on the moulding. At that point we said we would try to use a different product to see if it would match the floor. The picture you see above is the material we used and we left it to cure. We were not allowed to go back to the house to remove the excess material so the filler would be level with the floor. Again Mrs [Member Name Removed] wasn't happy so we agreed to install the shoe moulding for free (a $1600 value) once the invoice was paid in full. Mrs [Member Name Removed] responded at that point that she would not pay the invoice and she said "that we needed to install the moulding but we probably wouldn't even do that right" After that conversation we then requested that both her & Mr. [Member Name Removed] meet at the property together so that we could go thru the floor and fix all the areas WHILE THEY WERE THERE. All we kept getting back was "we are always working" when we finally did hear back they contacted us on Friday morning and asked if we could meet at 6PM Friday evening. The owner mentioned he was out of town but that the lead installer may be able to go. Apparently that was not good enough because Mrs. [Member Name Removed] said that he should just come get his stuff and not return to the house. As you can see we did everything we could to make this client happy to no avail. We even agreed to install shoe moulding for free once the final balance was paid but that was not good enough either. Mr & Mrs [Member Name Removed] seldom visited the site during our working hours. It wasn't until the end and it was time to pay the balance that all the issues came up. In regards to her remarks that we started late and left early that simply was not the case. When we did start later then normal it was because we were either A- letting the material cure per manufacturer recommendations or B- we were grabbing addl materials to complete the job. In regards to her saying the job took longer then we originally said she is correct. When we originally quoted the job it was supposed to be a simple matter of removing wood flooring grinding the floor and dropping the stain. As we removed the wood we found that was old adhesive or glue on the floor that needed to be removed. This resulted in us having to make several passes with our grinder to get the adhesive off so that we could prep for staining. Normally we charge .99 per sqft for the adhesive removal but again we did not charge the [Member Name Removed]'s. As a matter of fact Mrs [Member Name Removed] said take as long as you need we want the floor to come correctly and thats what we did. In regards to the foot print on the concrete none of our staff wear workbooks, all staff wear tennis shoes or special cleats made for walking on wet flooring. The [Member Name Removed]'s had numerous other people coming in and out of the house while we were there and we feel one of them walked on the floor as the sealer was drying, there was even one instance where Mrs [Member Name Removed] texted that there was a cat that ran through the house and she was concerned about cat prints. Again this is an unfortunate situation that we tried to do our best to resolve it with the [Member Name Removed]'s, we still have the shoe moulding in our truck ready to be installed. but we will not install it until all concerns on the floor have been addressed with both Mr & Mrs [Member Name Removed] present and our invoice is paid in full. From our position the ball is in their court, we would think that if this floor is so important then they should make time during normal business hours to meet there so that all concerns could be addressed. OUR OFFER STILL STANDS! Mrs [Member Name Removed] has begun a campaign trying to disparage our company across social media. We have forwarded these post to our attorney and we are asking for his approval to post the entire threads of text between them and us so the public can read and see for themselves how we made every effort to work with the [Member Name Removed]'s so they would be satisfied.
