From word of mouth, I selected Tropical Pools to build my pool. They were friendly, responsive, and accommodating during the construction process. The pool was completed in the time I needed it done. I gave them a C for responsiveness above. Within a year the pool deck had significant cracks all around. Cracks in pavement are a menace for construction in this part of the country. However, within just one year this pool deck had more than twice as many cracks than the pool at my previous home had developed in 10 years time. Some of the cracks are severe. Some are now migrating over the cantilever edge. The brick coping work around the hot tub looks like it was completed by a brick layer on his first job. Very sloppily done. The deck portion where the ladder railings for the steps exiting the pool are uneven making the ladder railings crooked. Other portions of the deck are not level and water pools in several places around the deck. Many of the cantilever pool edges are crooked. The tile work around the edge is also sloppy. I have to accept the responsibility of signing off on the pool when much of the sloppy workmanship was already evident. Many of the discrepancies can be corrected and will be. However, I will always question the overall integrity of the construction of the pool itself. I am dreading the formation of cracks in the plaster. Hoping they will never form. However, when I examine closely the flaws and discrepancies on the pool construction, I become very pessimistic. Once the cracks began showing up in great numbers showing the extent of the poor quality of the pool, the responsiveness I enjoyed during the construction quickly vanished. I repeatedly called asking for assistance in addressing the cracks but requests were never responded to. I have reluctantly left their responsiveness with the grade of "C"due to the responsiveness I received during construction. I would have felt the price was vey competitive, had I been built a pool of better quality.

We contacted this company after a word of mouth review from our friends. The first meeting he was very friendly and discussed some options for the pool on a home visit. Within the week he had sent us a contract and diagram-in the meantime we also did our shopping and got a bid from another company. We ended up going with Tropical Pools because we liked the design and the friendliness-the bids were pretty close. From start to finish the project took about 6 weeks-it would've been faster, but Christmas, New Year's, and Cold weather delayed us about a week or two. His staff is friendly, his sons helped out and showed me how to use all the equipment. Because we did not have a gasline, we had to have one installed by the city-he made all the arrangements. The pool was completed and swimmable for the gas service was complete, but he would not accept payment until I was shown how to use the heater. He's a standup guy. He also offers a monthly pool service for his customers which include chemicals for $155.

Quick response to request for pricing. Started promptly after agreeing on price. Completed work in a timely manner. Came back to check on pool after it was filled.

The project went very well, starting as soon as promised and completed very close to when originally estimated (about a month). We were quite impressed by the quick completion. The two primary Tropical Pools employees on the project were highly experienced, and obviously knew what they were doing. From observing the work as it progressed, and the completed pool, we could see they took pride in their work and paid a lot of attention to high quality and getting everything done correctly. They worked very hard, and were here working on our pool just about every day. They took care at the end of each workday (many of which went after dark) to clean up and secure our yard. We were quite pleased with the quality and timeliness of this work by Tropical Pools, would definitely use them again to build a pool, and highly recommend them.

Did not perform work that was discussed They were supposed to drain pool, restart pump, clean pool. Did restart pump,but filled pool back up after not cleaning it, I have drained my pool twice now and learned that my pool pump will not drain all the way.
