+ -1 moreSoon as Terminix was shown termites outside my house, they cancelled my policy without notifying me, and told me that only when the termites were inside my house would they do anything. Now termites are in my house, and I'm shocked to find out that Terminix canceled my policy without telling me back in November 2016.
Description of Work: Terminix tried to trick me into canceling my policy and voiding my warranty coverage, when I refused they canceled my policy anyway. My house has been covered by the Terminix subterranean termite policy, since the spring of 2010. In the fall of 2016, when subterranean termites were found a few feet away from my front door on the front porch, I called Terminix for a treatment. Terminix told me, that due to the fact my house is on the water, they can't do any external termite treatments. I was shocked, so I asked if they had ever done any external preventative treatments during the years since 2010 while I was paying for their service. Their answer was that they hadn't because they were prevented by law from treating the outside of my house due to water being nearby. I was present during every visit Terminix made to my house since my policy started, so I know for a fact they never performed any treatment on the inside of my house either. So for all those years Terminix had never performed a treatment either inside or outside my house, I was shocked. Then I asked whether they intended to just wait until the termites got inside my house, and then they would be stuck with a major repair bill. There was quite a bit of back and forth with them for many days about this issue, on whether they would do any treatment outside my house. Finally they said they would come out and place some bait sticks around my house. The day they showed up to place bait sticks around my house, the first thing they did is place a document in front of me to sign. This was a big read flag to me, so I read the first page. Upon reading, I told them that I would never sign the document, since it would cancel my current policy providing for termite damage repairs, but that I still wanted the bait sticks. The document they insisted that I sign, was a conversion document from the policy I had with termite damage repair coverage, to one that didn't provide any damage repair coverage just external bait sticks. I was shocked that they tried trick me into signing away my warranty coverage, after termites had already been found outside my house. They didn't explain what I was being pressured to sign, they just told me to sign it immediately or the bait sticks wouldn't be deployed. When I refused to sign away my warranty rights, they refused to place bait sticks out, and simply left. Move forward to July 19, 2017 when I discovered Termites inside my house next to my front door, so thinking that I was covered by a Terminix policy, I call Terminix for service. They said that my policy had been "converted" in November of 2016. So I asked what it was "converted" to, and by whom. They said it was simply "converted" to nothing. So my policy & warranty was canceled in November of 2016 without any notice simply because I refused to voluntarily sign away my warranty. No notice was ever sent by mail, email or phone indicating that my coverage had been canceled. So bottom line is that after termites were found just outside my front door, Terminix attempted to trick me into signing a document which would've voided my warranty. When deception didn't work, they simply canceled my policy & warranty without notice. Now the termites are in my house, and Terminix only says my policy was canceled by them last November.

+ -1 moreWe were to pay a total amount of $64.45 every month for the termite & pest control inspection. This $64.45 was originally supposed to be automatically withdrawn from one of our two checking accounts. When I realized that my disability check wasn't going to be deposited into my checking account until Wednesday the 21st of September, 2016 my Wife called Terminex of Corpus. Christi, TX to change our payment method & the date of our payment. Terminex told my wife this wouldn't be any problem. On September 19, 2016 the Terminex of Corpus. Christi automatically withdrew a total amount of $64.45 from my checking account. This withdraw of $64.45 caused an overdraft in my checking account plus a overdraft fee in the amount of $25.00. My Wife called the Terminex of Corpus. Christi. On Wednesday, September. 21st. She ask them why they did an automatic. Withdraw of $64.45 from my checking. account after they aggreed. Not to. My Wife requested a full refund of the 2nd payment in the amount of $64.45. My Wife also told the Terminex of Corpus. Christi that we were closing our account with them for the reason mentioned at several points in this complaint. I called the Terminex of Corpus. Christi on the morning of September. 26, 2016 & again requested that Terminex deposit the $64.45 back into my checking account. I did not request the $25.00 overdraft fee. I hope if & when Terminex returns the $64.45 to my checking account my Credit Union will also return the $25.00 overdraft fee.
Description of Work: We signed up for a quarterly. Termite & Pest Control package in August, 2016. The terminex technician was friendly & professional. The technician. Seemed to have the knowledge. We have no complaints with the terminex technician. Our termite & pest control inspection was to be done once every three months (4 times a year).

Description of Work: They spray for things outside and if I need anything in the house. He's great, he's been coming here for years. I also do their termite service. They are reliable and wonderful.

+ -1 moreThe inspector that came do our house did a good job. Somethings have been okay, and other things not. The person that did the inspection stands out. He is very knowledgeable. This particular inspector is good, I don't know about any other that they have. We are under a contract so we have to use them.

+ -1 moreThey said it was under warranty for 6 months. They came back out the day after they took the tent down and charged another $100. Never came back to clean up the dead bugs like they said they would. Then they said the warranty was for 30 days for termites and not for roaches. Every time I tried to talk to a manager, they never returned my call.

+ -1 moreI called to set up an initial treatment and was given an appointment date and time; well no one showed up or called to say they weren't coming. So I called the following day to ask what happened and no one could give an answer but I was given a reschedule for that day. No one called and no one showed up again! So I called customer service to again see what was going on and after telling the customer service rep what the situation was I was told to stop dwelling in the past and get over it! When I told her she was being rude she hung up on me! I then called customer again and was told I would be contacted within the hour to reschedule my appointment. So I waited 3 hours with out a call and then canceled the service! Horrible experience!

He was very quick and efficient, it didn't look like what he was doing would make a difference, however, I haven't seen any creepy crawlers around my house. Not to mention if you need them to come out again to respray they will do it without charging you!

Description of Work: The person I deal with is Brandon, he is very friendly and really helpful. We are new to TX and he helps us understand what things we can do to take care of any bugs we find.always on time, and he makes sure to call me the night before to remind me and then calls me again when he is about 10 mins or so from my house. I had asked him to call, being I have a large dog that does not like men, lol

+ -1 moreI am on a contract and we just started with them. There are other services bundled into the price. It’s going to be $80 a quarter for just the extermination. We had an issue with carpenter ants where we were dealing with the ants getting into our house. So, Terminix repeatedly kept coming out. They looked and applied pesticide until those little ants went away. They didn’t charge us any additional fee. That’s what I liked about them. They were very professional. I was very pleased with how they treated us.

+ -1 moreThey were very thorough, went up in my attic, went all around the outside, did all of the treatment. I was very pleased with them. I had had a bad experience once, and really didn't want to have to call them but we had had the house treated by a smaller company and just apparently didn't work. So we went ahead and call Terminix again and I was quite pleased. They were very prompt.
Description of Work: We had subterranean termites. They had to bore through the concrete and check some older places. We thought we were rid of them, had the house treated, and had them come back out. They checked through some of the places that had holes drilled before, but also had to drill some new.
