If you would like the following, then I highly recommend hiring Southern Painting: 1. Shutters that do not match the existing shutters 2. Unfinished trim, so that you get to hire someone else to finish it 3. Siding painted over instead of replaced when it has dry rot or termites, so you get pay someone else to do the job properly 4. Wires not properly replaced, so you get to hire an electrician to fix it 5. Painting over motion sensor so it no longer works 6. A man sleeping on your roof 7. A man smoking on your roof 8. Litter! 9. Ruined garden beds 10. Taking 2-hours of vacation from work to discuss issues, only to get a message from the representative 30 minutes before the scheduled meeting telling you it will rain; after which you call him back twice and text once to explain that it isn’t raining, and that you have taken time off to meet with him. Don't worry - he will text at 5 pm to tell you he is in your neighborhood if you have time to meet in the next 15 minutes. 11. A profound sense of disappointment

Justin, Jose, Carlos and Jorge were a tremendous blessing to my family. They were prompt, thorough, and were eager to care for anything I noticed toward the end of the project that we may have overlooked in the initial walk-through. They went over and above to meet our expectations. Three of our neighbors have used Southern before us, so we had already heard amazing things about the company and Jose's team. Even 10 days after completion, we have nothing we can find we wish would have been brought to their attention before full payment was made. You will not be disappointed if Justin and Jose's team are caring for your painting needs.

We have a 30 year old concrete stucco home and the paint was fading, peeling, and chalking all over the place. I called Southern Painting and Justin, the owner, came out to take a look. After a walk around, he proposed a process using the products I wanted without me having to request them. He then went out to his truck, hopped on his laptop, and came back in with a written quote with a reasonable price. I paid him 20% up front and the balance wasn’t due until the work was complete and I was satisfied with the job. His crew of 5 or 6 guys showed up when they said they would and got the work done in a timely manner considering the weather they had to work around. The started with a pressure washing and TSP bath. Then they primed and painted everything by hand, rollers and brushes rather than spraying. The results are phenomenal. We had neighbors stopping by on their walks to comment on how great the house looks. I can’t speak highly enough of Justin and his crew. They did everything they said they would and made sure we were happy with their work. Justin stopped by almost daily to ensure the work was being done to his standards and took notes on anything that needed attention. The communication from him and his guys was great; we never wondering if they were going to show up. If you’re considering painting your home, I highly recommend Southern Painting.

Excellent. I was out of town for most of the work so they kept in touch by text message. Employees were all very professional and punctual. Paint appears to be very high quality and the worksite was thoroughly cleaned when the job was complete

Presently we do not have any complaints for the service performed. An excellent name brand of paint was selected and all wood repairs were done in a professional manner. Also, clean up was performed in a very timely manner and the entire crew was professional and respectful towards us the "home owners".

It was easy to schedule an appointment and Mr. Swan was willing to change the time to fit our schedule.  They recommended elastomeric paint for our stucco paint but we weren't interesting in using that type of paint.  Also, the quoted price was more than we could currently afford.  They hire contractors to do the actual work so we figured we should just talk to a painter so it would be more reasonable for us.  The only reason why we didn't use them is because of the cause being out of our budget.

Bud Swan sold me on hiring his company, promising a level of quality and professionalism that cost $1,000 more than another company's quote. The painters did not implement what Bud promised and now there is paint coming off areas that were not primed and rust showing through coats of paint they neglected to first paint with Procril. We cleaned up their mess and broken bush branches they cleverly replaced so we wouldn't notice. They frequently asked for walk-arounds to approve their work. Each time there was substandard work that should have been done right initially or corrected before a review. This occurred multiple times. It felt as if the walk-arounds were intended to see what they could get away with, not showcasing their fine work, justifying payment. Very frustrating. I lost confidence, paid up, and told Bud in a text message how unhappy I was with lack of follow-through. He never apologized. We're fixing remaining problems ourselves and the house is looking amazingly good.

Bud Swan was very professional when he arrived at our home to give us an estimate. He explained everything thoroughly and discussed issues such as thorough prep work, promising to arrive on time for the job, no payment until the work is done and we are satisfied, all repairs they needed to make, etc. I was thoroughly confident they would do a good job.

After I received the estimate the job was scheduled and the workers arrived promptly and on time. They proceeded to prep the job site and had a scaffolding up to repair the high hallway ceiling. The next day they painted the ceiling, both hallways upstairs and downstairs and the wall up the stairs. All the workers were very friendly, polite and considerate. They wanted to make sure I was thoroughly pleased with the job. They were finished exactly when they said they would be and returned all my furniture and put back the blinds.

I will definitely hire Southern Painting to do any future work.

Another successful experience with Southern Painting. In 2008 they painted the exterior of my home. The work, price, everything was A+. When we were ready to do the interior we called them again. Great price, had to wait a few days because they were booked tight but when it came my turn they were here and ready to go as scheduled. The four different colors we selected were ready when they arrived. We walked through the house to make sure they understood what I wanted. We sounded the bell and they were off and running. Very well organized and cleaned up at day's end. Very professional in every way. My Wife is a stickler and was pleased with the way the prepped the room so no paint got on carpets etc. They came to work not talk and waste my time. I watched the entire painting process and have nothing but and quot;it was a great experienceand quot;. Just like last time.

1/24/2012 The painters were delayed on a previous job; On the lunch hour, painters slept in our driveway; did not prep before painting the baseboards, just painted over the dust; asked several times for representative to get back with me didn't happen; went back to Sherwin Williams to get more specifics about the paint; owner did not use my address in file system for future orders. As a rule, the job number is the address as stated by Sherwin Williams. Very displeased.

The initial work was punctual. We bought the upgraded paint (25 year) since the house gets constant exposure to the South Texas sun. They also repaired some soffit areas where rot had gotten into the wood and a balcony rail needed replacement due to rain water leaking under roofing. The balcony rail was never done right. I had them reutrn and redo it, but they did not use the correct (pressure treated wood) so that the wood leaked sap through the paint and down my wall. The soffit rework was shoddy at best and has to be redone again. Six years later the paint is peeling from the trim and the balcony looks like it has never been painted. The doors and trim also leaked on my exterior doors so they just look awful.
I would not recommend this business at all.

They were very responsive and came out to my house within a couple of days to provide an estimate. They were not able to start the job when they had scheduled and we had to wait a month. The day before the start of the job I received a call telling me they would not be able to perform the job due to an unforeseen problem. They were very apologetic, provided names and numbers of some contractors that were presently available to complete the job, and even delivered the paint they had purchased for my kitchen. They also offered to pay for 1/2 of the cost I would have to pay another contractor. I really didn't know if they were serious but a few months I called them back just to see. They asked for the cost of the job and did not hesitate one second to tell me there would be a check in the mail the next day. I even received an e-mail confirming the check had been mailed.
Although I can't attest to the quality of their work, I can attest to their professionalism and their integrity. If you want an honest and upfront company I would recommend giving them a call. Thanks Southern Paint.

We became very concerned when they painters started using spray equipment. The new sliding glass door we had just installed was covered with overspray, a light dust of paint that settles. The entire door was covered and when I mentioned it to the owner he said and quot;don't worry, we can get it off with a razor blade.and quot;

It did not come off and the razor began scratching the glass. I wrote him a check for partial payment and fired him. I then hired a painted who used a brush and roller and did a beautiful job.
