 + -1 moreIf you want not so professional care and service along with a disregard for a service call, then call his company. It seems like a reputable place until you're provided this low level of care and service. Not to mention that their technicians will refuse to follow through on scheduled work assignment if they get upset. Never seen a company like this where the tech can tell you they're refusing to go out to your site to do work because they feel like it. I'd reconsider or skip this one.

 + -1 moreThe technician came to my house on 3/25/2015; diagnosed problem within a short time; gave me an estimate; came back the next day and installed a new breaker box. The technician was very professional; knew exactly what he was doing. By the way, I had 3 licensed electricians prior to this that could not diagnose the problem I was having. Thank goodness I found Angies list and was able to find the highest rated electricians in my area. The price was reasonable; I had estimated it be a lot more than what Scott Electric charged me. I will definitely use them again if I need more electrical work done. And I will be using Angies list to find the best people for some more projects I need to be done in my house and yard.

 + -1 moreJacen and his apprentice Jeff did a great job. While the job could have been done a little cheaper, we were after quality and safety. So the outcome is an overall lower cost. They worked efficiently to get the job done quickly but safely. Polite and courteous.

 + 0 moreThe first time I called I left my name and phone number requesting a callback. I never did get a return call. Honestly this should have been my first warning sign. I called about a week later and eventually someone came to the house and gave me an estimate. I wanted monition sensor lights, one in the back of the my house one in the front. The estimate placed in my mailbox stated $400 for each + $90 for each motion sensor light. Because of the holidays and $$$, I waited about a month to call back. I When I spoke to the lady she says "no one remembers your name". She did ask who had come by to give me the estimate, but unfortunately by that time I couldn't remember. She asked repeatedly if I had an estimate, never asked for my address. I find it completely unbelievable that they run their business based on the employees memory. Do they not keep a computerized log of all the estimates provided to potential clients? I should have known better when they did not return my call in the first place. Can't say I didn't try Scott's Electric.

 + -1 moreIt went good. My husband liked the work they did. Two people came out and they were here for about 1- 1/2 weeks. They had another job they were doing at the same time. This is why it took longer. They would be late and left early. I had to clean up after them. They swept everything in a pile that I cleaned up. I would tell a friend or family member to expect a mess.

 + -1 moreI originally phoned in for the first time on Friday, April 18, 2014. They said they would call me back on Monday April 21st to schedule an appointment. Monday came and went and no one ever called me back. I thought I would give them another chance since I did call on a Friday afternoon and they probably were getting ready to go home on the Friday before Easter. I called them again a week later on 4/28/14 and they told me that I must have spoken to the answering service because they had no record of me ever calling them. I was told that they would send someone out the next day to give me an estimate on 4/29/14. I gave them my home phone number, my husbands cell phone number, and my address. No one ever called or came by to give us an estimate. Today is May 5, 2014.
Description of Work: We wanted to get an estimate to have an motion censored light installed and tow outdoor outlets added to our home and depending on that price maybe even install 4 security cameras.

 + 0 moreHe told me that I should buy a long pole to change the light bulbs in the ceiling that were too high for me to reach, and that his brother-in-law had just bought one and it works great. He also told me that I should go to Wal-Mart and buy the under-the-counter lights and the directions to install them are included and they can be hard wired. All you do is cut the plug off. Everything is included in box, including the light bulbs. I went to Wal Mart and they only had the stick lights. I went to Southerlands and they only had the metal case for the fixture. Everything else was to be bought separately. I have no clue what to buy. Then he told me that whoever I called, them or another company, would come and install them if I had all the supplies. So, I still do not have my new under-the-counter lights and I need one ceiling light bulb changed. When I called Scott Electric, I told him exactly what I needed to have done and how soon could he send someone over to do the job. He was the one who wanted to give me an estimate first. Yes, he was very polite. I just never thought I would have someone tell me that I could call another company. I do have a major job to have an air conditioner installed, a central H/A unit, but I do not think I will be calling Scott Electric for this.
Description of Work: He gave me an estimate on the work I needed to have done. He charges $59.00/hour. I needed 2 under the counter lights replaced and are already hard wired. I needed 2 indoor flood- light bulbs changed in the ceiling which is too tall for a 6' ladder.

Gave me the option to go pick up some unplanned materials or they could go - saved money by me driving a few blocks away while they were working. Overall great experience. Would highly recommend Scott Electric to others.

 + -1 moreChristmas lights on the roof weren't working so we called for Scott Electric to look into it. Eric Martinez came out within 3 hours of my initial call to the dispatcher, promptly assessed the situation, and provided a solution. I was so impressed with him that I had him give me an estimate for some other work while he was here. He cheerfully climbed into the attic to locate the doorbell transformer and also provided details of how he could replace some recessed lights for me. I will definitely have him back for our future electrical needs.
Description of Work: Eric assessed our lighting problem, located the GFI, reset it , and pointed out how I could reset myself if this happened in future.

 + -1 moreThe only problem was scheduling someone to come out. This wasn't a big problem but I should have to make only one call rather than continuing to follow up. I scheduled an electrician for two different occasions, both times it took a number of calls to the dispatcher to get some one out. I also wanted someone on the AC side of the business to give me a quote on installing a new AC system. That took multiple calls. Other than this, the electricians who came out were very professional and worked quickly which is important as they charge you by the hour. I was very pleased with their work.

Description of Work: I needed an electrical overhaul on my home which was built in the 50's and was not sure where to look. I went on line, and saw a list of electrical service providers. This was over whelming!!!!. The only thing was, I was not sure of the company's record of service to customers, ie satisfaction, reliability etc... So, I heard about Angie's list and decided to become a member. I saw great reviews about Scott's Electric. So I selected them. I had Joey as my Point of Contact and was the Supervisor for the job on my home. He came and looked at my home and gave me and then within a couple of hour's sent me an estimate. He then came over with the electrician who was going to make the upgrades to my home. The electrician's name was Mr. Adrian Lopez. Mr. Adrain was just an exceptional technician and professional. When he arrived he articulated what he would be doing for my home and asked me if I had any questions. I enjoyed talking with him. He was very genuine. He was easy to talk with throughout the entire process. He answered many of my questions. Scott's service performed a new Pole to home electrical rewiring. They installed and upgraded a new electrical box with room to grow. I had garage rewired properly to include electrical box for garage and laundry room, with room to grow. I had all sockets in home replaced where required with GCFI's. All this took about four days. I was out of electricity for only 4 hours or so. Again, Communication was the key between the Scott's Electric and in the end played a vital part in ensuring my comfort in my home was not compromised. I would recommend Scott's Electric to anyone who is looking to upgrade their home or just install electrical fixtures for the outdoors. I will be using Scott's Electric for all my future electrical needs. Joey and Adrian, Thank you, so much for a wonderful experience. God Bless You and I wish you "God Speed". Oh!, I would be remiss if I failed to let you know, that I had a surprise upon completion of my service. Scotts Electric gave me a Military Discount. WOW! what a blessing. v/r Ms. Casillas

 + 0 moreI called Scott Electric Monday afternoon to schedule a service call for an inoperative front porch light. The dispatcher had Sean call me Tuesday morning as requested. He was prompt and courteous. The light is a large, chandelier-type that hangs from a 25 foot ceiling. Sean discovered the wiring in the light had exploded and left a small hole in the main stem. He dismantled the fixture and recommended a place to have the light repaired that specializes in that type of fixture. I called Scott again that Friday to rehang the fixture. I expected to have to wait for a service call, but they sent Billie out so quickly that I even made my 1:00 pm meeting on time! Both service calls were $57.00. Very reasonable for the circumstances. I could not do this myself and it is a VERY high ceiling. I will definitely recommend and use Scott Electric again!
Description of Work: Checked wiring and circuit to find lighting problem. Discovered bad wiring. Removed entire fixture from ceiling brace. Second visit: rehung light fixture into ceiling brace on 25 foot high front porch .

 + -1 moreWe were very fortunate to have SHAUN MARTINEZ come to do the work. He worked fast and did a fantastic job. I never would have expected him to complete so much work in such short order, especially since much of the work had to be done in uncomfortable positions as our wall plugs are close to the floor and some were harder to reach. One was on the far side of an installed bookshelf so he had to reach around to get to the plug. I don't always rave about service we get from local companies but this was a refreshingly professional technician who gave us more than we expected for what we paid. I WILL ABSOLUTELY CALL SCOTT ELECTRIC AND REQUEST THIS GUY FOR ANY ELECTRICAL WORK I NEED IN THE FUTURE!!! By the way, about two years ago we needed wiring replaced between the house and garage and I called Scott for that job as well. I cannot remember the tech's name that came out but he also did a very good job. I cannot give my name here but I live on Peerman Place in Lamar Park in a house built in about 1955. Shaun Martiniez was professional in his manner, capable in his work, and did his best to provide the most work possible in the time he was here. I give this technician and this company my highest recommendation. THANK YOU, SCOTT ELECTRIC!
