If I could give 4 stars I would. The gentleman bid 350 ft of fence where the posts and fencing wire was already supplied. Only thing he has the purchase was 24 T posts, fasteners, gates and concrete. Total cost averaged 1500 in materials with a tractor rental. He charged internally 7500. My disabled mom agreed and signed the contract unbeknownst to us. Upon inspection from my son in law the posts were not put in the ground properly and we're loose, partly from not tamping, and part from not going past 2ft in the ground on 6ft out. He took materials we paid for, and got a refund. We've yet to see the $$ for. He pays his employees like a third-world country as well. We were also advised that he is not coming back to the jobsite. He has been paid $5000 already.
Description of Work: 350ft of fence installed with 5 gates.

I was in need of a deck to be built over the concrete steps in my backyard and after receiving a few quotes, I decided to go with Lone Star Home Improvement Company. They did an outstanding job constructing my deck and I am absolutely thrilled with the end result. I have received many compliments from friends and family. Throughout the entire process, they displayed professionalism and efficiency, completing the project in just one day. I am so grateful that I chose Lone Star and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of home improvement services. In fact, I still have a few more projects around my house that need to be done and I will not hesitate to hire Lone Star Home Improvement again for their exceptional work. Their dedication to quality and customer satisfaction truly sets them apart from other companies. I am grateful for their hard work and expertise in making my backyard a more beautiful and functional space.

They stated it would take three weeks to do the job when obtaining a bid, it took about 3 months. They did other jobs and did not show up. No notice given when they would not come. The design was awesome, I love the design of the deck, pergola and dock. When the boss Bill was here they would work hard. When he left, nothing was done. I called them once and asked when they were going to start work on the dock and boat lift, they stated they were waiting for the roof to come in. Everyone knows you put the roof on first before building the underneath deck. They only put two metal balls on the boat lift (it takes four), they said they would come back with them and also the warranty and paperwork on the boat lift. I called they said they were waiting for the balls to come in. The job was finished at the end of May. I emailed them on June 29th, No answer. Never received the balls or the paperwork. We had to pay another person to come and nail in boards, fix the wooden gates on the deck and repair the front wooden gate still does not open all the way. They tried to use lag bolts on the deck, instead of carriage bolts as stated in the contract. Had to pick up after they left. They would leave their trash all over the yard. I do not recommend them
Description of Work: tear down old deck, replaced it with new deck with pergola. Build a dock with boat lift. Replace front gate and had a metal fence replaced in the front of house.

Received an estimate of $360 for job over the phone however when crew showed up for the job, I was told the ground was too hard and they would do the job for an additional $60.As I was being told this on the phone, the crews were already digging and based on their progress, the ground did not seem too hard. We agreed to pay the extra and job was completed in a timely fashion and quality of job was excellent. I just did not agree with the change of price; perhaps they should examine the job site in person before giving out an estimate. Still both the initial estimated price and the final price was well below what several other contractors were charging thus I highly recommended them.

I've got a condo on one of the larger canals on Padre. The only thing it was missing was a nice deck out back to truly enjoy the location. It basically came with a 10' x 20' deck with little room to enjoy the outdoor space. I ended up with three times the room with way more functionality and curb appeal. inding a good contractor for deck work, especially over water, can be very challenging out on the island. When the contractors that serve the area have work lined up it can be tough to even get a quote. I took a chance and gave Lone Star a call. They responded quickly and came out to take a look at the project I had in mind. Within a day or two Billy provided me with a written quote. I had a couple other quotes and Lone Star's was not the lowest. However, he was able to start the project the soonest and we had the best mutual understanding of what would be done with the space. Once we reached an agreement and signed the contract, they picked up the materials and started the work within a couple days. His crew did a great job of removing the old, beat up deck. They used a subcontractor to put in the pilings and it was completed within a day. When the construction began on the new deck and dock, Billy's crew showed up quite early and generally left for the day by mid afternoon. This was the best way for them as the back of my place is in direct sunlight by the early afternoon and the summer heat is exhausting. They finished the job in a very reasonable amount of time, quite close to the timeline we discussed. The quality of the carpentry is excellent. The deck and dock are both extremely solid and look great. A couple months after the construction, I had them come back and stain everything. Now I couldn't be happier with the back of my house and I owe it to the great job done by Lone Star.
Description of Work: Lone Star rebuilt the deck and dock on the back of my condo.

My sister and I were responsible for selling our parents property after our mother's passing. I got the task of obtaining bids for replacing the siding on a detached building about the size of a three car garage. I looked in the yellow pages and searched online. and quot;Lonestarand quot; was just as good as any to call, so it was kind of the luck of the draw that I called them and got someone to pick up on the other end. The receptionist answered, took my information, and I got a call back within about fifteen minutes! Billy responded the same day. He came with references and a pictorial portfolio of previous work. No one else had done that. After looking at the shop and taking measurements, he returned to the house, did the math right in front of me and I had a bid before he left. In the end, I got five bids over a week's time... three of which I had to hunt down with repeated phone calls. The lowest bid on this project was $4,000. The highest was $28,000. (Really!) Billy's was in the middle at $8,500 and made the most sense. (The $4,000 approach was to basically make do. The high-end bid was, well, high-end and totally impractical.) Billy and I agreed up front that we didn't want to simply and quot;do what we could get away withand quot; in preparing the property for sale, yet we did want to be smart and not go overboard with excessive or costly improvements. ie. Keep all existing siding that was worth keeping and discard the rest... the rest being more than 80% unfortunately. Billy was available to start the project in a reasonable amount of time and when they did, he and his crew showed up every day. They were polite and clean, focused and got along well with each other and with our parents neighbors who kept popping in to check on things. Their work days were shorter than I would have expected, still, they knew the deadline we faced and they got the job done--and done well at that. Then when the inspector found a few other things we had to address, Billy made himself available to help (at a price, of course, but a fair one). Knowing he had another job already lined up, this meant a lot to us that he was willing to help. I would absolutely call on this company for future projects.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced exterior siding on shop as required by lender in order to sell property, then made himself available to help with a few other more minor infractions discovered by the inspector... such as replacing and painting a door frame and fascia boards where needed.
