I am leaving this review because I received excellent assistance this afternoon from an employee of Interstate Battery. I have purchased several batteries from Interstate Battery over the years. I went in to have an AGM Gel type battery tested since about a week before when I went out to start my car it had no power at all. I had purchased the AGM type battery in October, 2019. They're actually very dependable batteries first developed for use in aircraft so I couldn't understand what could be wrong. It turns out the battery itself was not the problem. Here's what happened. Xavier (goes by Javi) greeted me as soon as I arrived at Interstate Battery on Ambassador Row which is behind the old Sam's Club location. I told him I had had a problem where the car had no power at all. I had previously taken the car to Loa's on Ayers to be recharged and I wanted to check to see all was working as it should be. As soon as I arrived at Interstate, Xavier greeted me and after I explained what had happened he brought out test equipment and performed two tests. Since the battery was not showing a problem he started checking the battery terminal connections and noticed that the positive connector, which in a GMC Acadia, is an unusual shape, was not making the proper tight fit on the battery post. He retrieved a lead cap that he put in place on the post so that the terminal would make a tighter fit. He worked on this for several minutes until he was satisfied that the connection was proper. Then he rechecked the battery voltage and it had actually climbed from about 12.5 to over 13 which is actually a significant difference. My problem was found and fixed and I can rest easy knowing that I won't have to worry about this problem in the future. I asked Xavier how much I owed for his work and he said, "No charge, sir." It's great to know we have a business here in Corpus Christi that treats its customers like friends.
