Description of Work: Couldn't boot up computer at all and one of the two screens wasn't working. He had to take it to his shop to fix but made the repairs and brought it back a few days later. It has worked well since that time. The owner/tech was very professional and knowledgable. I will call this company again if I have computer problems again in the future.

First, I will say he responded to my initial call quickly, which I particularly appreciate because it seems so few Corpus businesses do that. Second, I will say that even though he ran late for the appointment, he did have the professionalism and courtesy to call me and let me know prior to the appointment time. And third, he is a very nice fellow. But it was downhill from there. He couldn't open my computer case. He struggled with it more than 20 minutes and then he finally asked if I had a laptop he could use to find a Youtube video to show him how to get the case open. (I am not making this up.) He found one and was able to get the case open after watching a Youtube video posted on the Internet by an Indonesian guy. And then after he finally got the case open, he knocked off the front USB cover (which I still have not found) and he damaged my computer monitor when he leaned on it for some unknown reason. In his defense, he did spend time during the diagnostic run to repair the damage he did to my screen (time he had to be in my office waiting on the diagnostic run any way) and he looked for the USB cover. And at the end, he deducted 30 minutes of time from the bill, ostensibly to cover the time he struggled to open the blessed thing. My computer runs better than it did before his service call, but I am not at all certain the fix was complete. It's OK though. Just an expensive "better". I know everyone has an off day or two. But given the whole experience, even though he is a very nice man, I will not use his services again.

My computer is working so well now. Mike came out about a month ago and told me how he could fix my computer. He gave me all of the details and the cost. He was very professional. I had to wait a month to have it fixed as I did not have the money because of Christmas and another repair. My computer is working amazingly well. I had lost the Internet completely. He also had suggested I get a different security system which was free for a year. A lifesaver for me. He installed it and I see it pop up when there is threat. I am so grateful for his help. I am a senior citizen and computer issues sometimes go beyond me. I definitely will call him if I have future issues.
Description of Work: My computer had shut down but the hard drive was good. Mike took my computer, fixed everything on it and returned it in two days.

Since I have had good luck finding good service contractors on Angie's list, I went to identify someone who does on site PC repairs and services. Since Dependable Computers popped up on Angie's List as being close to my home and had excellent reviews, I called the company and left a message for Mike Westergren to call me back to schedule a service call. I was having problems with the laptop keyboard. Whenever I would type messages or input data into forms, the key strokes jumped all over the page and even launched all different types of instructions and programs. I thought that I might have gotten a virus or the something was broken in the keyboard. I also wanted someone to check out my home office PC set-up and evaluate it to make sure it was set-up correctly and working optimally. Mike called me back later in the day and we set up a time for him to visit my home office. Before he left his office, he gave me a courtesy call to say he was on his way. He arrived on time and was very professional and amicable. When I first met the guy, I got a good feeling of trust about him and sensed he knew what he was doing. I invited him into my home office and explained to him what I want him to check out: why the keystrokes were jumping all over the page when I typed; why my internet connection speed seemed to be slow; and evaluate if my home office PC and WIFI were set up correctly to give my optimal performance results. He immediately knew what my issues were and how to resolve them very quickly. He downloaded a software program called "Touchfreeze" that immediately fixed the propblem of my keystrokes jumping all over the page and lauching other programs. He then did a download and upload speed text on my AT&T U-Verse Internet connection and determined it was somewhat slow but working within an acceptable range. He also checked the Operating System for problems and gave it a clean bill of health. He said he could re-install the Operating System which might improve speed and performance, but he told me that the addtional expense to me was not worth it. I appreciated his honesty and concern for keeping my expenses fair and reasonable. I appreciated his detailed explanations of what he was doing and asking me to sit at my laptop to check if everything was working to my satisfaction after he performed a check or fix. He was very personable and we had a nice chat while he was working on my computer. I was absolutely delighted how well my laptop was performing after he worked on it. He was probably at my office for an hour+ before he finished. I then paid him $80.00 with a check for his service call which was the price he estimated the work would cost when I made the appointment with him based on what I explained to him was going on with my laptop. If I should ever need help with any computer problems in the future, I will definitely call Mike again.

Mike was very professional and prompt. Picked up and delivered as promised even giving a 30 day warranty on his labor. Returned my old Hard Drive. He gave me some web sites to use for backup purposes. He saved my files and most of all saved all of my Vacation pictures that I had not backed up anywhere (Alaska, Bahamas, Cabo)!!! Was well worth the $$$, which I thought was very reasonable!!! Thank you Mike :-)

Everything went great! The work was done in a couple fo hours and was professional. I highly recommend Dependable Computers! He has a great reputation and is certified.
Description of Work: Dependable Computers is owned by Mike Westergren. He arrived on time and walked me through how he was going to perform the work I requested. I needed to run a cable through the attic from one computer to the other so that we have a good signal for the computer in a bedroom. He also installed a NetGear WiFi for me for me and set it up with a secure line.
