Please note the date of work is a guesstimate since the contractors bid had no date on it. The company had previously poured a driveway for me so I asked for a quote to dig, and pour a shell for a fish pond when I owned a home in Corpus Christi. The contractor performed the work, however when I noticed that the shell leaked a significant amount of water, I called him repeatedly to evaluate the leak. He never came back or called back. As the contractor paid to build a fish pond, I expected that he was responsible for pouring the shell in such a manner that it was water-tight. After investigation on my part, I discovered a small gap in the shell near the drain. I was able to fix it with a 6 dollar can of sealing foam. I feel it is unfortunate when contractors do not stand behind their work and lose the trust, confidence and future work of customers; especially when the fix was so easy.

Regarding the driveway. It took many months to complete the project. The contractor would not come to work for days at a time and would work in spurts. Granted the project was very labor intensive since it involved pouring many concrete squares/rectangles, working with the concrete and stamping the concrete with a faux stone pattern. The contractor attempted to pour the entire driveway with a single pour, and this was a disaster. He did not have enough workers to work with the concrete before it set, and ended up not being able to stamp patterns well, not color the concrete properly, or not even level some portions. He ended up having to dig up a substantial amount of the concrete that he poured. When the entire project was done, it did not look anything like i wanted (the stone stamping did not look realistic, the colors were not what I hoped for) Overall, the driveway does not look bad, and is distinctive, but looks totally different than a picture of a stamped concrete driveway I had given the contractor as an example of the look I wanted. Regarding the flagstone patio, the work was done in a reasonable time-frame and I have no significant complaints. Regarding the fishpond this is where i really was disappointed in this contractor. As I have mentioned, he did alot of work for me, and even though there were problems and difficulties with each project, I thought that the contractor was always making an effort to correct problems. He poured the fishpond, and painted a waterproof paint on it. After allowing curing, I added water, and the fishpond leaked quite severely. I called the contractor repeatedly to come try to fix it, and he never came back to address the problem. I felt that he deserted me on this project, and lost confidence in his professionalism. Eventually, I was able to locate the leak which was around the drain hole, and repair it myself.
Description of Work: This company did multiple projects around my house. This includes demolition and replacement of a large front driveway with French drains, Flagstone garden patio, and Fishpond. The $11000 was for the driveway work only. The driveway involved demolishing the entire front driveway, and enlarging the driveway, with placement of curbs on the driveway, with everything reinforced with rebar. Also the thickness was 6" and the driveway consisted of many individually poured squares/rectangles, and formation of two storm drain channels with metal grating included. The garden patio consisted of demolishing an existing flagstone patio and salvaging the flagstone, and then repouring a concrete slab and replacing the flagstone. Finally, the fishpond consisted of digging a 4 ft deep hole, and formation of a mesh pattern and concrete shell 4" thick with drainage hole in the shell.
