It was an awful experience. The final product was incomplete. He walked away from the job without any warning. We experienced quality issues with the job, but we could work with them- or so we thought. After hiring countless other contractors to clean up the job we discovered how much harm he actually did. He often came to us crying- yes, literally crying about not being able to feed his family or make payroll. We would agree to give him a little extra cash in exchange for additional work. He always cashed the checks, but never did the extra work. To this day, he still takes our calls, promises restitution, but never comes through. We actually sued him and won.
Description of Work: To rehab a garage, build storage sheds, pour concrete driveway, install stained glass windows, and build a custom desk.

They removed our old fence. Sawed the old posts down to between 4 and 6 inches. Took two weeks to erect the back part of new fence which made it very difficult with my neighbors and I having dogs. When they poured the concrete it dripped up to a foot in every direction and began to crumble almost immediately. They created a new property line for us as they built the fence more than six inches inside of our old one, leaving post stumps six inches high in my neighbors yard. They left the old fencing on our front lawn even though we asked them multiple times to put it on the driveway (as stated in the contract they are not responsible for damage to the lawn). There were spaces between the ground and the bottom of the fence that measured 14 inches in some places and we were assured they would fill it in which they never did. They waited until the last two days before the end date agreed upon in the contract to erect the side parts of the fence and build the pergola (quick sloppy work). They used wood with knots and splits in it and left the wood tags all over the fence and all over the yard. They left nails, screws, chunks of wood, hunks of concrete, and two 6-inch saw blades littered over the backyard. They left any dirt they dug up in big piles all along the fence as well as overflow concrete, and old concrete from the old fence. We paid extra to have capping put on the fence but there are gaps between wood pieces and nails protruding through the back side of the fence that didn't even go through to connect the two pieces of wood it intended to. The owner of the company came to the house only two times leaving inexperienced teenagers no older than 17 to work. There was one guy who was older and more experienced but had to spend a lot of time directing these kids. When these guys came they would work for a couple of hours at most and realize they weren't prepared with the correct tools for the day and leave. We were more than thankful when they finally finished and payed them before we saw the full extent of their shoddy work. This was a HUGE mistake on our part as we trusted that these guys would do a final clean up. They did not however leaving the screw, nails, and such all over the yard and a pile of trash on the backside of the fence (which is someone else's property!) This pile is approximately 10ft x 5ft and 3 ft high. We have called them time and time again with them setting up times to come to our house but they never do. It has been nearly two months since they have last spoken to us and now they won't accept or return our calls. We have contacted the Better Business Bureau and are awaiting a response and now are very seriously considering taking it to small claims court. We have given them more than ample opportunity to complete this job and do what is stated in the contract and have failed at every level.
Description of Work: They were to remove an old privacy fence and the old posts, put in new posts and a new fence, and build a pergola.
