BEWARE!!!! Once you sign the contract with robertson pool the communication STOPS!!! Signed contract in June 2012, digging began July 13, 2012. The entire process was slow. This company has an excuse for everything, the weather being the number one followed by email problems. They will assign you a "superintendent", but the home owner will be the person who oversees the job. During our process we only saw the superintendent when it was time to collect a check. I received a call while at work stating the crew was on their way to set the forms and asked if there were any changes. I instructed them of the changes made prior to signing the contract, but had to leave work to go home and instruct the crew. My husband went home at lunch and the crew was still setting the forms wrong, he had to have them remove 3 hours of work and start over. They rushed to set the forms for the decking in order to collect their check, but did not have a date as to when the deck would be poured, it was approximately 11 days later before anymore work was done. In September 2012 the pool was plastered and Robertson received their final payment, a walk through was done by myself and Brett (the superintendent). I expressed my dissatisfaction with the deck as there were large areas where I could see more concrete instead of rock, ant there were nails mixed in. Brett stated the they would acid was the deck and expose more rock and remove the nails. I have talked to more than 7 employees of Robertson pool, 7 month later they leave me a message the states their crew will be at my home to acid wash the deck, no scheduling just a message. They removed the nails and the stains, but still have areas of concrete. Prior to our pool being completed, we referred someone to Robertson's pool, we were suppose to receive a $200 referral fee, Erich stated that he would send a check, 2 weeks later I called Erich about not receiving the check, he again stated that he would mail on Monday. I have called, emailed and sent a text to Erich with no response. I have even asked for a $200 credit for pool supplies instead of a check, still no response. We did months of research prior to using this company, they are very smooth but cannot deliver on what they say.

The process went well overall. I had an idea of the cost of the work before I started and Robertson was competative. Also, I got a recommendation from a friend. When getting pool repairs, always know your pricing, because it can range wildly between various pool service providors.
Description of Work: Patrick did a good job of installing pool equipment upgrade. He did a good job of explaining the equipment. Two weeks after the install, I called Robertson to come out to troubleshhot a problem...Patrick came out that afternoon and took care of the problem. I am very satisfied.

I built my first pool with Robertson Pools of Coppell in 1994 and it was a great experience. I hired Robertson to remodel my pool February 2012 and it was a terrible mistake. After signing a contract and depositing $4,000.00 in February 2012 the problems began. I was told the remodel would take four to six weeks, it is now August and the job is still not complete. Specifically the pool leaks, the lights don't work and the plaster (a $9,000 upgrade) looks like a lousy paint job on an old used car. The workers dumped wet concrete in my front yard, washed their company truck in my driveway and generally treated my residence like a dump. I called the owner Ron Robertson and asked for a meeting to discuss the issues and get them resolved. He had his construction supervisor return my call and set up a meeting with Ron and myself. Ron never showed up. I called again but Ron never returned my calls. I use to refer everyone in the market to Robertson's, now I warn them off.
Description of Work: Major Pool remodel including plaster, coping, tile and deck.

In the end we decided to go with Company A vs Robertson, the only aspect of the process that we found pleasant was the design that was produced for us. We are in the middle of our pool build currently and will be reviewing that company upon completion. Overall my wife and I felt very put off by the high and mighty attitude of Brad the sales rep. We cannot stand when someone tries to sell their product or service by bad mouthing the competition. If you cannot stand and sell the value in your company then you may be in the wrong field. Along with other reviews read on Robertson Pools my wife and I are extremely glad we went with another company. I have read many negative reviews on this company and feel that we really dodged a bullet.
Description of Work: Sales rep Brad was too eager to close the deal and not interested in the specifics of what my wife and I were looking for. Came to our house for an initial visit, took several measurements of our yard, then went into his sales pitch about why they are the best and why we should do business with them. Being in sales and letting him know that up front I felt this was a bit too cheesy for my taste. Was almost through his pitch when he made the egregious error of talking about how they do many larger pools for hotels, spas and communities but "not to worry he won't forget about the little guy?" Not really looking to do business and spend this kind of $$$ with someone that feels we are the "little guy". Brad then scheduled us with a visit to their office the next week so that he could make his presentation on the design he came up with along with the pricing bid for the job. Drove out to the office (45 min away) on a Sunday to see what he came up with. The office is total overkill, they have 2 full size pools on the property that Brad had his children there swimming in while showing us around. They only reason I see this as overkill is due to the fact that this part of the process is when Brad started "bad mouthing" the other builders, stating "his company is the only one that does this and that..." We of course found this not to be true but do appreciate Brads comments so that we could ask questions of the other builders interviewed. I do have to say that Brad came up with a beautiful design for us, but again was just too eager trying to go for the close at that very moment, offering up contracts right away, looking for that commission. While i appreciate the "Always Be Closing" mentality, Brad needed to realize that an 11 year sales and management veteran was not going to be closed upfront without getting all 4 competitive bids.

I hired Robertsons to do a pool clean and repair on the pool pump. Once we had the pool drained, it was determined that we really needed a replaster. Considering they had charged me already for the cleaning and that we have been customers for 14 years, I thought they would give us a fair estimate on the replaster. However, it seemed really high to me at an ADDITIONAL $4500. They also said it might be 2 to 3 weeks to get the work completed. (my pool is drained!). I called another company that I found on the List. Their estimate was $1600 less for the work and they had people out the next day to start (on a Saturday). I will say that everyone I dealt with was very professional, friendly and prompt. Their prices were just too high!

They wouldn't give me an estimate unless I paid a $99 fee, so I didn't move forward.
Description of Work: I called Robertson Pools (Coppell) because I needed my pool decking to be repaired. Their office is about 5 minutes from my home. They said they would charge a $99 fee just to come out and give me as estimate (the $99 charge can be applied to the work if you use them for the project). I told them I was just 5 minutes away and asked if they could please waive the fee. They said no. I guess I'm just old-fashioned and unreasonable to think that someone might come out and give me a proposal without any obligation.

Our landscape designer recommended Robertson for our pool replaster, re tiling, and new flagstone coping and travertine deck around the pool. They also built a waterfall. From day one, they didn't return calls, didn't show up (or call) when promised, and spent 2 months on a job that should have taken 2-3 weeks. Every day they left their empty bottles scattered around the yard or in the pool- Disgusting! Our pool still leaks and we had to have a second company come out to find the leak - Robertson could not find it. Still trying to get them to honor their warranty. Will NEVER use them again

RUN, don't walk away from this contractor!!! I'm trying really hard to think of something they told me was true and I can't think of one thing The work was performed well below my satisfaction or or anyone's standards who have seen my pool. The work is sloppy, incomplete and not what I was told. The workers can't speak English so no matter how hard you try to tell them something is wrong or they didn't finish something or they have the wrong materials, they just ignore you. At the end of the day, you have to clean up your yard of their cups, wrappers and trash that they munched on through the day. It is impossible to get anyone at the office to return your calls in a timely manner. And when they do, it is just more lies and lip service that never gets done. No one shows up on time for their appointments and no one calls you to tell you they won't be coming. I'm in the process of trying to get the warranty work done (the coping that is guarenteed has only lasted about 3 months before eroding and disolving) for over a year now and they have completely botched this too along with not completing the job. It is hard to believe they are still in business today. It would take me way too long to list everything that has happened, but feel free to contact me if you want specifics. Again, RUN, don't walk away from this company. After spending over $7000.00, I hope this review saves someone else from throwing their money away or making the mistake of using this company.

I know them and their service. Someone gave him a pretty bad rating; but I think he gives an amazing service. He runs the show there. He gives all his clients his cell phone number. He is very quick to respond. He charges $50-$55 a week. I get priority scheduling. When something happened to my pool, he rather keeps an eye for me. He has outdone for 30 years. He is very personable, and his customer service is the top notch. He personally trains all the technicians who come out to the house. Sometimes, he comes with them, even if he doesn’t have to just to keep an eye on, and he does a great quality control check as well.

I have another company doing the work and some of the things Robertsons said was necessary for the structure of the pool, the new company said was cosmetic and a waste of money. I live in Coppell and tried to use a local company, I won't make that mistake again.
Description of Work: Called and quickly got appointment for estimate to remodel and replaster pool. Nice guy showed up on time went over all we needed with my husband. He told us we would receive an estimate within 24 hrs. Never heard from anyone at Robertsons again. Nothing....It was going to be 5 to 8 thousand dollars, I guess they weren't interested in the job.

I had already dug down the side of the spa to find the leak. Unfortunately, this was right after we had the pool replastered by Robertson. The repair involved jack-hammering through the wall of the spa to replace both jets (only one was leaking, but I had both replaced so they would look the same and to avoid having a future problem with the other jet). The repair went well, but I thought the cost to seal the rebar corrosion was excessive at $350/jet. The spa wall then had to be patched after the repair was completed. I backfilled the hole I previously dug. The replacement of the pool light took only 30 min.
Description of Work: Repaired a leak through the wall of the spa in our inground pool. Replaced the underwater swimming pool light.

The estimator, Rachel, was knowledgable and helpful. She discussed options, pros and cons, and provided good information regarding tile selection. She was responsive and helpful with follow-up issues. The pool surface preparation was good, and the tile and plaster work was satisfactory. The job took much longer than anticipated due to weather and weather-related scheduling, but this was not a problem for us. Minor crack repairs were made before plastering. The tile setter had to be called back due to a portion of the grout missed in one of the skimmer boxes, and to repair a chip in the deck above the skimmer. The start-up went well with a very thorough vacuuming and brushing of the new plaster surface. The only concern was that the amount of acid added was excessive based on the chemical analysis done the following day.

Problems were finally resolved by going through the Better Business Bureau. Second pool they have done for us, the first one everything went great (7 years ago). With this one, the water leveler was hooked up wrong. It took many calls to get them back to fix that and to fill in the yard. Water Leveler then quit working a few weeks later and they did get it fixed this time right away. This time we could not get people to call us back or to show up.

The person who took the incoming call was very kind and explained to me the two different kinds of inspections that were available (big difference in price), so I was able to choose the one that fit my comfort level best (the cheaper one). The inspector arrived on time and told me what I needed to know. I intend to use them in the future for tune-ups, et cetera. There was not a ton of opportunity in this chore for going above and beyond, so take the A grades to mean simply that they did everything right. The C for price is simply because, though I had several different professionals on the property that day for inspections (A/C, garage door, et cetera), they were the most expensive for the time invested. Do not infer that I have any idea of how this price compares to their competitors in the pool market.
