The estimator, Michael Evans, was an abrasive and arrogant personality with whom we will not work for future replacements. Mr. Evans (and the installer) had complete access to the interior of my home for the purpose of measuring and assess the type of work required to order and install windows. Although all windows ordered fit, Mr. Evans could have made several suggestions that would have reduced cost and made installation run more smoothly. The original windows were all casement windows and were replace with casement windows. Most of the windows have interior shutters as well. Specific problems: 1) powder bath window - This window was inoperable prior to replacement (We were unaware of this) and could have been replaced with an inoperable window as opposed to a casement window. 2) Casement window latch placement on one of the windows does not permit that window to be open due to the frame of the shutter. Mr. Evans could have suggested that the window be ordered with the latch on the opposite side to allow it to be unlocked and therefore operational. 3) Mr. Evans did not adequately discuss instillation options. He instead stated that he preferred the external installer he recommended (who I later learned is less expensive than the in-house instillation team) because the in-house team received many customer complaints. Although instillation was relatively inexpensive (~3000.00) it left me particularly dissatisfied. 4) Two of the ordered windows needed stain grade wood. I asked Mr. Evan about my options and he insisted that Marvin Standard stain grade wood would be adequate for our needs. However, it is clear after instillation that the "high grade pine" used for our windows is quite soft and easily scratched. Because casement window screens are placed on the interior of the house, they have to clear the crank handle and just in removing them to take the labels off the glass, I have scratched the wood. In addition, the look of the wood is not what I had been lead to expect.

In the past couple of weeks they have been coming by to give estimates, match colors and check things. So far my experience with them has been good. My only complaint is that the guy who comes out to give the estimate is a little pushy. They are expensive but they are very responsive.
Description of Work: They are replacing 6 unusually sized casement windows in front of our house.
