+ -1 moreI highly recommend Mr. Door Doctor. We used them for a complete stain and varnish of our front door last year. This year we called Pete back for their annual revarnish. Pete sent someone over right away and they did a great job adding a little more color and revarnishing the front door. Unfortunately, we made a mistake while the varnish was drying and some of the plastic (used to block off the entrance) adhered to the new varnish. Called Pete and he said no problem we will send someone back to fix it for no extra charge. They just finished up this morning. Outstanding customer service!!! Pete, Mr Door Doctor, 936-777-2879

+ 2 moreWe were very pleased with Pete, the owner of Door Doctor. His estimate was what we paid. He was very polite and always kept us informed as to the expected time arrival of his employees. He visited our home to check on the work that was being done. His employees were extremely polite and we were very satisfied with their work. They dressed professionally and cleaned up their work areas before leaving every evening. We would not hesitate to call the Door Doctor again.
Description of Work: The gentlemen removed, sanded, sealed, stained, and varnished our large, leaded glass front door and placed a new weather strip on the bottom of the door. In addition, the two sidelights on the same door were sanded, sealed, stained, and varnished. They performed the same work to our rear doors including the weather stripping. They painted two exterior doors. We did not have the paint and they managed to match the paint and purchased it for us. They repaired two interior doors that would not remain open and caulked areas on our garage door and bathroom cabinet.

Description of Work: Not good. He referred work to someone else without my consent, I thought these guys worked for Mr. Door. They had no clue what they were doing, they had to come out twice plus the DD coming out initially all to install a nice screen door which I had purchased myself. The door doctor quoted me 150 and these guys he sent quoted 475 after they said they were finished and did not even put the handle on the door ,they lost it. I called the door doctor to ask why the labor only fee had jumped and he said it was out of his hands. What a mess,i am disabled and still without a handle on the door.

Description of Work: I had 3 doors that were not closing properly and all the problems were repaired. I also had louver doors that were not closing correctly - the problems were repaired. Both the owner and repair tech were very polite and considerate. Excellent

+ 1 moreIt looks gorgeous!! They were very good at communicating if they were running behind, they completed the job on time, and the price was very reasonable. They showed great skill in factoring in the temperature of the door and varnish, which definitely impressed me. This was the first time I had used them, and I would use them again in the future as well as recommend them to others. Several of our neighbors used them, and the end results look very nice.

+ 0 moreIt went really well -- I was astonished at the care and diligence they showed! I actually signed up for their annual maintenance plan. They completed the work in exactly the amount of time they said for the price they quoted me. They were very careful with the landscaping in my yard and with my property. I come from a family of carpenters, so I know good work when I see it. I'm not an easy grader, and I'd highly grade and recommend them.
Description of Work: I had them refinish a really nice mahogany door with rod iron accents.

Description of Work: We have 8 foot double front wooden doors with several panels. The wood had shrunk in several places, so he filled it in, re-stained it, and re-coated it with varnish. He also put on brand new hardware.

+ -1 moreThe work didn't turn out as good as I had hoped. The work was subcontracted, and I don't think they did great work. The stain was a darker color than the original, and the sealant is higher-gloss than we wanted. The stain looked OK when they showed me what it initially looked like, but it ended up looking different. The door was previously a darker oak color, but now it's got a mahogany look. We also paid extra to get some scratches out, but they said they couldn't sand the door any further. Some of the doors they did for other people looked nice, but the subcontractors that came out for us just didn't do work I was happy with. The final coat of marine sealant looks nice, but overall, I'm not pleased with it.
Description of Work: We had them out to sand our front double door, strip it, and then re-stain it.
