We had gone through several attempts to have our AC unit repaired. The first technician told us that the unit had been struck by lightning and that we would need to replace the entire HVAC system at a cost of $12,000. Since the system was relatively new, we called in a second technician who told us that the only problem was the thermostat that the first technician had broken in his attempt to repair the AC system. And with the workout that our AC system gets every year, all year long, the need for help will be relatively soon.
