+ 1 moreI resorted to Angie's List after personal referrals proved fruitless. We chose 5 Smooth Stones based on the reviews and, let me tell you, we are so glad we did. Mr. Barnett acompanied us to the store and advised me in the selection of a new kitchen light fixture. This took some time, as I am rather indesicive and had lots of questions. He was patient in this process, as well as careful, thorough and clearly skillful in the execution of his tasks. Further, he patched up a drywall blemish in the ceiling, not on the to-do list; he just 'noticed It'. We plan on calling 5 Smooth Stones for more work after the holidays. The price was far lower than the value provided.
Description of Work: Shower control replaced. Kitchen florescent fixture replaced with led task lighting fixture. Patched up large ceiling blemish.

+ 2 moreWe were very pleased with Mr. Barnett's response to our inquiry and extremely pleased with the work he performed. He charged by the hour and we really got our money's worth. He shopped for all the parts needed and worked methodically and diligently on all the different small jobs we needed completed. We will definitely have him out again. We plan on getting a bid from him to do some rearrangement of office space that will require heavier construction. We have every confidence that he will do a great job when we are ready for the project to be performed. Our tenant has also hired him to do some work on their office space as well.
Description of Work: Mr. Barnett completed several tasks at our business in Conroe. Everything from replacing aging light fixtures, replacing bulbs, replacing aging plumbing parts, repairing outdoor light fixtures, adding locking fixtures to interior doors, replacing weather stripping to commercial doors, adding temporary solutions (at our request) to a flooring issue and other general maintenance to an aging commercial building.

+ 0 moreClifford is great. Very competent guy with a great attitude. He's given me advice on a couple of occasions since I'm a bit of a DIYer. Haven't found anything yet that he can't do. He'll tackle anything and will come back at no charge if something he's done hasn't worked out. Charges $40/hour plus parts and will go to the store if there's something he needs that you don't have on hand and isn't in his standard toolkit. He's also been flexible with my schedule, even though he doesn't normally like to work after 5pm. He's a bit old school in that he doesn't like to text, just phone calls and email, but that's part of his charm.

+ 2 moreMr. Barnett was great to work with. After looking at what we wanted done, he started right to work caulking the exterior windows on our back patio. After completing that task he moved on to the two bedrooms where he removed the existing ceiling fans and installed the new fans that we had purchased. He worked quickly and efficiently and it was obvious that he knew what he was doing. Considering the quality of his work and the reasonableness of his prices we definitely will use him again. In fact, before he left, we mentioned to him that we were thinking about replacing our front door and he was kind enough to take some measurements for us and make some suggestions about how we might save money by replacing the glass insert and not the entire door. We look forward to working with him again in the future.

Clifford is definitely the handyman you want working in your home. He is nice, experienced, and very reasonable. I am keeping his name (for sure) and sharing with my friends and family. It's so nice when you "find" someone you can trust and depend on. Clifford was very punctual in returning my calls and in setting our appointment. He arrived exactly when he said he would and completed the task quickly and professionally. Before leaving, he made sure everything he touched was in good working order.

Description of Work: I used this service to install a sprayer on my sink when he first began servicing this area last year. He was excellent that time and I gave him an excellent review which is still on your site. Then sometime early this year, I called him back with a list of several items, but we both ruled out (for one reason or another) all but one on my list. The shower was not fully flowing all of the water thru the shower head. Part of the water came thru the shower head and the remainder came thru the faucet. He came promptly and looked and said he would be back in a day or two with the parts to repair it. We did not discuss price. He did not return as he stated, and I received your request for a review. I did not want to give him a bad review thinking we may have had a communication problem due to the elimination of other repairs on the list. I called him again, and again, he promptly came and looked at the shower regarding needed parts and was to return to do the repairs in a day or so. I have not heard from him since. I really hate to give him a negative review because he was so efficient and professional in the first visit. If he considered the job too small and not worth his time, he should have advised me of that or called me so I could make other arrangements. Never, never just leave a customer in limbo!

There was a little bit of trouble with a shut off connection and he promptly came to repair it at no additional charge even though it required more work. He even called to make sure everything was working fine. I am so happy to have found a great resource for house maintenance items. I will definitely be calling on him again.

He got here when he said he would and did a good job on everything. I plan on putting in a couple of ceiling fans and Five Smooth Stones is who Im going to call. Thanks for saving the Water Heater.
Description of Work: He replaced my garbage disposal , worked on a ceiling fan to see if it could be saved, but it ended up needing to be replaced. He also cleaned a filter on my hot water heater which had trouble with the pilot going out. Seems to be working again. Another plumber 2 days earlier told be it had to be replaced. It would have cost 1350.00
