They are the only one in town. We used to have Comcast and I could not keep it running on the internet. It was just going down all the time. So, I finally switched to Consolidated. It has been alright, better than cable. With their pricing, I paid that much with cable and internet. Some of the quality of the service is good and some are not. I have trouble with my internet. I do not think I get a good signal sometimes. They do have good service. They have been real responsive to us. They have been real nice. They act professional.

It doesn’t take long to be connected to the internet but it is not the greatest speed, I only get about three Gigabytes for what I pay. There is not a whole lot that I like about them. They have no competition in the neighborhood we live in because here they only allow a certain carrier here and they were the only game in town, so I really don’t have a choice. They could improve on their prices. Every once in a while I call the customer care and they take care of the problem eventually.

Description of Work: we were out of internet for 3 days. When called report the trouble the rep did put in a ticket. When called next to check the status no ticket was created. Its been 2 days no response as per to when they will dispach the tech.

If there records had been correct, we would have been told in the beginning that service was not possible. We wasted two months with numerous (un-returned) phone calls and a trip to the office. I would not recommend them based on incompetence and failure to follow through...that is NOT customer service.
Description of Work: I would definately NOT recommend this company. We purchased a home in Bentwater and contacted the company for service. When the appointment was set (for August 7), we were told that there would be no problem since their records indicated previous service at the home. When the technician arrived, he informed us that the nearest Junction Box was over 400 feet from the home, therefore we could not receive service without a new box. He stated he would have a representative follow up with regards to installing one. We did not receive a callback as promised so my husband contacted the 1-800 number in early September. We were told that our best bet would be to physically go to to the Conroe office to discuss the matter, which we did on September 10th. The representative which we spoke. Theresa Ballew, indicated that they had "dropped the ball" and that she would email the correct individual. She stated he was very good about responding and we should have a return call that same day...did not happen. My husband waited a couple of days and called her again. She told him that this person was going out to the property that day and he would contact us....did not happen. Since we never received a response I called the 1-800 number on September 17. I was told that a message would be sent to Theresa....no return call. I called back on September 18 and left another voicemail...still waiting for that return call. I finally spoke with a manager at the 1-800 number. She got the actual contractor on the line regarding the matter. Here is the funny part...they want us to pay approximately $800 to have the box installed and the line dropped so that we can receive their product. As I told the manager...I already had concerns about their "customer service" and definately would not pay to install a box.

The overall experience was average. They are the only phone company in the area. The price is poor. I would not use them again, if I had a choice.

for services to When I originally ordered the combo package from Consolidated, I ordered a 6mb Internet service, land line telephone service and TV (including HD) as a combo package, for 125 bucks a month, what I received was another thing entirely. First off, the installer came to the house, told me, and I quote "it doesn't matter where we put the main box because of the repeating units" but failed to mention that it was the TV signal that he was referring to. So in doing that, he placed the main box, that supplies the Internet, Phone and TV to the whole house in the laundry room which is located in the most remote section of the house, therefore instantly degrading the wireless connection of the internet, which DOES NOT USE the repeater units mentioned above, the 6mb internet never achieved over 4.5mb EVER, and most times the service lagged in at 2-3mb with a ping of 150-300 causing so many problems rendering the internet, almost completely unusable. The phone service, was horrible, to say the least, because the phone service is VoIP even though I specifically requested a land line, I got VoIP instead, and therefore adding to my frustration, when I called the customer service phone number, the agent told me that if I wanted the main unit moved to a different location I would have to pay the company 99 bucks to have a installer come out and re-install the box in a different location, which is completely unacceptable due to the installer not explaining the the installation process so that me or someone like me, the customer, actually understands. The next complaint I have is the TV package I ordered, was supposed to be HD, and technically it is, but realistically its garbage, Consolidated's HD service is 720 which is by all standards the absolute LOWEST RESOLUTION that can be called HD. Then you have the channels that are favorites, that the audio is out of sync, rendering the channel unwatchable, or the picture being horribly pixalated or grainy and again making it not worth watching TV. Bottom line, I am completely and totally unsatisfied with Consolidated services, I had them for about 6 months till the headaches became so unbearable, I just decided to change my services, now I have Direct TV, in HD with a DVR for 60 bucks a month and a Charter internet package for 50 bucks a month giving me a 25mb/3mb internet connection averaging 15/3 all day long. I just use my cell phone for phone calls, which is what I should have been doing all along, needless to say, if you want to be ripped off, mislead, and over charged, Consolidated Communications is your pony, if you want to actually get something you pay for, steer clear of these thieves.
Description of Work: It would be in your BEST INTEREST to seek out other options for your TV(HD), Phone and Internet Services. Bundle with these folks and get ripped off every month 125.00 a month of sub par (Low Grade, Low Quality) services for a contract of 2 years is stealing your money, DO NOT sign any contract with these people as you will be very unhappy that you did so. You have far better options available to you, there are other internet providers, other phone companies, and much better TV services out there (DirectTV / Cable internet), my advice to anyone that is considering Consolidated Communications for services to avoid them at all cost, as their service is a LAST RESORT IF AT ALL situation.

Don't use them for DSL if you can find another provider!
Description of Work: I have a landline with Consolidated. It has always worked fine. I have extended DSL service with them also. It has been a nightmare! I have dropped service several times per day and sometimes for days! I have had the service technicians out to the house numerous times over the years that I have had their service and still they can't get it to work. They tell me I am too far from the main terminal. I believe that is why they call it "extended DSL" service. I would change providers but they are the only provider in my area.

Their customer service is fantastic and they are the nicest people I have ever dealt with. They were so helpful and kept sending someone until they figured it out. I was able to take some off my phone bill because it goes through the phone service.
Description of Work: We went to the office and signed up for DSL and TV service. They came out and hooked it up. We weren't getting some channels so they came out and fixed it.
