Mr. Gant very nice. Crew very nice. Except.......... He didn't do any cleanup after. He left all the forms in place for the retaining wall and sidewalk. The weather was bad 2 days after completion which was why I assumed they didn't come to remove them. I contacted him but he didn't respond and never came back to clean up. The cement truck left HUGE tracks in yard and hit the NEW steel gate on the way out leaving it unable to close. None of this was resolved by Mr. Gant. His price was good and the actual concrete looks nice but the labor and cost of removal, cleanup, and repair negates the savings.
Description of Work: Replaced back yard retaining wall and added cement decking to existing porch and added a small sidewalk to front door

Mr. Gant drove to my house from Conroe, a distance of 15 miles, to give me a repair estimate knowing that it was a very small job. He explained what it would take to repair this broken piece of sunken concrete and offered to do the repair the next day for $300 which I accepted. Mr. Gant was very pleasant to talk to. I had also called three other contractors on Angies List, all of whom said they didn't do jobs this small. The next morning two concrete workers arrived on time. They brought all the materials and equipment and worked about three and a half hours. They did a very professional job and cleaned up the area before they left. No one could have done a better job than they did. If I need concrete work in the future, I will call Mr. Gant and no one else.
Description of Work: Patched a 17 sq foot piece of my driveway.

I found Mr. Gant by a referral from a concrete ready-mix company and only later realized he was listed on Angie's List. He was very flexible in arranging to meet to give an estimate. He arrived early for our meeting and I was running late. He was willing to wait for me and had a pleasant conversation with my wife. We talked about what I wanted, he made his measurements, made a few recommendations, and said he would call me with numbers the next day. He called me back as promised and gave me his estimate. I called him back later that evening to tell him we wanted him to do the work and that I wanted to make the slab slightly larger than what we originally discussed. This was on a Friday, he said he would be there first thing Monday morning to start the job. I was not able to meet him at the house Monday morning. He had his crew do all the prep work, build the forms for the slab, get all the rebar ready, etc. but didn't pour the slab. He wanted me to take a look at everything Monday evening after work before he actually poured the concrete. I really appreciated this. He easily could have finished the job Monday but was willing to wait to give me a chance to look everything over. I looked everything over Monday night and was very impressed with the prep work and how much rebar was in the forms. When I called him to tell him that everything looked good, I asked him about anchor bolts which I had forgotten to discuss with him when he came out to give the estimate. He told me to mark where I wanted them and he would take care of it. Mr. Gant poured the concrete Tuesday and came back Wednesday morning to remove the forms and clean up. I wasn't able to get back to the house until Thursday evening but was very pleased when I got there and saw that they had cleaned up everything out of the yard and was very pleased with the slab and they did indeed take care of the anchor bolts. In the end, I made two changes which Mr. Gant was very accomodating of and the final price was just a small amount more than the original estimate. I was expecting to pay a little more because of the changes I asked for. I have already recommended Mr. Gant to a couple of friends and will definitely call him for any future concrete work I am considering.
Description of Work: Poured a 10 ft x 16 ft concrete slab.
