I hired A British Touch to clean my new home and my old home during a move. When I booked the work I scheduled the new home on a Wednesday and the old home on a Friday. I had bought a home that needed a lot of work. Because of a scheduling snafu the day of the move some construction work was going on in the new home when Lauretta arrived. She called me very agitated, and rightly so. She had come to clean and the home was a construction site. I apologized, all I could do. She said fine, and that she will be out at my old home that Friday as planned. I had sold my home to a Bishop and had promised him I would scrub the place since he gave me about 7 extra days to live there as my new home had things that needed work. On the day A British Touch was to arrive I left the payment in a hidden place and tried calling Lauretta to let her know where to find it. I could not reach her. I tried again a few more times that morning. No answer. It turns out she ditched me. Had she asked me to cover mileage or her time I?d have been fine with it. She didn?t. All she had to do was let me know that on Wednesday and I could have tried to make new arrangements. She chose to stick it to me I guess. I hope she got her pleasure. Character is shown when you are stressed or in duress. Lauretta showed me she lacks it. All it would have taken was a call. She didn?t have it in her.

There were 8 contractors on the premises who were witness to my arrival at the property on the Wednesday and yes I was agitated on arrival. It was 45mins drive to get to the property and well over the mileage we are limited too. There was still major construction in place, Kitchen walls being ripped out, concrete and wood everywhere. The septic system was being worked on so there was no water, the toilets were in an atrocious state and we would not have been able to clean at all. I was originally told by [member name removed] there would be one contractor doing final finish work, this was not the case and my conversation with him was recorded on Yodle, so I can prove he booked my company under misrepresentation. [member name removed] was phoned on Thursday morning to inform him that because of what happened at the first booking I was not prepared to send my staff to the second job which again was out of our catchment area. This call was also recorded by Yodle. [member name removed] is a contractor and does not know how to keep to schedules and booked my company under false pretences.

This was just a joke! Ceiling fans were not cleaned. Back splashes in all bathrooms and in kitchen were not touched. Light switch plates were not touched ( this was something I was told on the phone they would do). TVs were not dusted. No light furniture was moved when they vacuumed. Microwave was not wiped down. I could go on and on....but I won't. Bottom line, don't waste your money. They won't be back to my home.
Description of Work: This was my first cleaning with this company, so I was told it would cost more because it would be a "deep" cleaning.

(member name removed). You were present throughout the cleaning service as you also had pest control people in at the same time. You watched my staff clean everything you stated above. At the end of the service you walked the whole property with the supervisor and then signed the client checklist to say my staff had cleaned per request and that they had cleaned to your satisfaction. I have your satisfaction signature in front of me as I type this. I have received no phone calls or emails of complaints from you so I am surprised to see this statement here. You were referred to us by a friend whom we clean for and we have received no complaints from her, nor her referral either.

***THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!***I hired A British Touch cleaning service to clean my home in preparation to sell it. The owner, Lauretta Burke, quoted a price for an empty house over the phone when it was clear that we were still living in the home. (this was the least of it) When her staff (2 people) arrived they phoned her to make her aware that the home was still occupied and she advised them to go ahead and clean the home and she would call me to discuss the price difference. She NEVER did that so while I was away assuming that I was getting the quality cleaning that I needed (real estate agents were coming the next morning to photograph it) her staff was doing a HORRIBLE job on our home. I would have gladly paid the additional money for the service I needed had she just informed me that I was not getting the correct service. Her staff broke an expensive, one of a kind, wooden decorative item and did an absolutely terrible job on our home. I was in shock! I took pictures as I walked around the home and then phoned Lauretta. I emailed them to her and in her emailed response she agreed that all of the areas should have been cleaned and took $40 off of the bill but made excuses for many things including the broken item. She would not take responsibily for it claiming it had been broken before which it CLEARLY had not! (she never inspected the home or the item) She also blamed me for the miscommunication regarding whether or not the home was occupied and blatently made derogatory remarks regarding my house keeping. I informed her that if my house was already clean I would not have hired a "cleaning service". Please keep in mind that other than needing a deep clean, the home was tidy. I made sure that all toys, dishes, clothes etc were put away so that they would not be in the way of her staff. I called her again and emailed her again and I demanded that she inspect the work of her staff and the broken item before she charged my credit card ANY amount. NOT ONLY DID SHE CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD WHATEVER SHE WANTED, SHE NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS OR MY EMAIL!
Description of Work: My home was supposed to be receiving a cleaning to prepare it for real estate agents that were coming the next morning to photograph it. It was supposed to be cleaned from top to bottom and everything in between. Instead I received a job one person could have done themselves in about 30 minutes. ***a very expensive wooden decor item was broken by her staff, the baseboards were not touched, there were bugs in the corner on the floor, cheerios beside the bench at the dining table, oven cleaner left in the oven, pantry door and cabinets not wiped down, dust on furniture and window ledges, tub and shower not scrubbed***

As Angie's list have failed to respond to my email and phone response to the member's vendetta against my company I will do so myself. Having being accused of fraud by the member to her own bank, my company had to undergo a thorough month long investigation. Thankfully the member's own bank found her falsehoods were not the truth and found my company had more than performed the "Ordered" tasks. The member booked a move out cleaning knowing full well that my staff would clean all her furniture without being charged the correct amount. My staff do not clean damaged items for exactly this purpose. The member's own bank debited the member's card because she got a service that should have been more expensive than she was originally charged. The member is a client all contractors should steer clear from and it was found by her own bank that she wanted a service for nothing and that she was the person who did not respond to emails etc. I am so grateful that the member's bank took the time and effort to investigate my company as my staff and I have worked hard to provide an outstanding service to all clients. The member has done this because her own bank do not believe her.

I found this company on Angie's List. I have had a great experience with them. They have been flexible and do a wonderful job. When they come they perform general house cleaning. I am on a biweekly service. They provide an invoice for me which is helpful for me since I run a business out of my home and can use this as a tax deduction. They do speak English and are bonded as well.

When I first spoke with the owner, she told me that several of her employees (4+) would be coming, plus she would be in attendance;in the end, I got 2 employees, no owner, and one of them had just started. The house was EMPTY-should have been very easy.I had to constantly check and recheck work that was to have been performed.And it still didn't get done all the way.Glass fixtures on fans were dirty, floor in utility room was dirty, cabinets were still not wiped out properly, woodwork was still dirty in spots. Then when I called to complain + email the owner, my concerns were never addressed. I would NEVER recommend them to ANYONE, other than that they need to steer clear of using them.I was never able to speak with the owner, she NEVER informed me as to the reason why she did not show up. I was NEVER told of any incident, i.e. auto accident.She NEVER made any attempt to contact me, NOR did she ever email me. No reasons were ever given, just an excuse for poor customer service.

The Member was extremely happy with my staff when they were at her house and happily signed off on the client sign off sheet when my staff had finished their work without any complaints from her. She walked the house with my staff before she left. Unfortunately I was unable to be present at the cleaning as I had just been involved in a car accident and was unable to leave my home and the Member was informed of this
