 + -1 moreI bought the Angie's List 4 re-keys for 115 package. I needed more than 4 keys but the extra 12.50 seemed reasonable. They arrived on time and were quick to get to work. One of the outside doors needed to be picked in order to get it to work but I opted instead to replace the whole lock. He handed me 4 keys instead of the normal two you get and I couldn't be happier. He even tried to help me reprogram the coded quikset keypad they had on the house and when neither of us could get it to work did not charge me. It's always great to work with people who tell you straight up what things cost and how long it will take.

 + -1 moreI called dispatch at 2:40 pm, a young lady answered. I explained my needs and she put me on hold for at least 5 minutes then came back saying her 'supervisor' was on the other line. She put me back on hold, came back again and said the supervisor had told her they could not help me because the year of my car. I offered to sign a waiver of no liability and she said no and then I asked for the Supervisor and she said I could not talk to him because he was on the other line. So, I guess I will take my locksmith needs elsewhere. Bravo to the fella in your store who was polite and kind. Jeers to the woman answering the phone at your dispatch center.
Description of Work: Went to the store at 238 N. Main explaining the issue I was having my car. (Key would not go igniton) This employee was friendly and told me no problem. He irected me to call dispatch.

 + -1 morei bought the Angie's deal on Friday, Darrel came on the following Monday. Not only did he rekey the locks, he noticed those that weren't tight or functioning and repaired those too.

 + -1 moreThey were very prompt in responding to my Angie's List inquiry. Gave me an estimate over the phone based on the number of locks. We had 3 different keys for three doors with dual locks. Derek showed up right on time for the scheduled appointment. We probably should have gone ahead and replaced all the locks with new ones, but with all the work we had to do on the home, we elected to just re-key for now. The locks are pretty old and gave Derek a run for his money, but he was able to complete the task and we are thrilled with only needing one key now.

 + -1 moreHorribly!!! The technician left without the job being done, at my request, because he didn't have the right tools.
Description of Work: The technician showed up, removed two of the three locks that I needed changed and took them out to his truck where he remained for too long. Having had locks rekeyed before, I was concerned by the length of time the process was taking. I'm questioning the timeframe from both a professional and safety viewpoint. When I asked what was taking so long he admitted to not having the right tool to complete my job. He said he was going to try to do it a different way!? What does mean that mean? We are talking about locks to my house and the issue of safety and you are trying different things? Oh no! I asked him to return my locks to me and leave. He then told me to call his office because they would be looking for a trip charge. How does that work? You can't complete the job because you were I'll prepared but I owe you money? Uh, no. I talked to the office, he left and I had to call another locksmith out to complete the job. This company had the job done in a matter of minutes and they were professional, a little higher in price but they saved the day for me.

 + -1 moreI received a new deadbolt from my alarm company and wanted it installed on my interior garage door, however, there was never a deadbolt there before and it required drilling the hole into the door. So, I needed that installed and then wanted all doors rekeyed to match the new deadbolt. I found a deal on Angie's List for Michael's Keys Inc and purchased the deal. The locksmith arrived on time with giving me a courteous call to let me know that he was on the way. I explained to him what I needed and he advised me that the new deadbolt key was a key that wouldn't match the other locks. Since none of my doors matched, I asked him to rekey the rest of the locks into one key and the deadbolt on it's own. He installed the deadbolt, which made a big mess with all the Styrofoam, but he got out his vacuum and cleaned it all up. The job was completed quickly and professionally and I would absolutely use them in the future is the need comes up.

 + -1 moreMy intention was to have the technician re-key other locks in the house to match the front door deadbolt. I did not realize that a locksmith cannot re-key different brands of lock (e.g., Schlage, Yale, etc.). He informed me of this after finding that one of my locks was not Schlage. I had to go to the store to purchase a new Schlage lock, and he was then able to match all four. I appreciated his willingness to wait while I ran that fifteen-minute errand, but it would have been even better if they'd asked when I made the appointment whether all the locks were of the same type, as I could then have had more time to find just the model I wanted to replace the non-conforming one.

 + -1 moreThe locksmith (I forget his name right now, but) he was so very kind and professional. We didn't know who to call, but looked up YELP reviews and chose Michael's. The gentleman locksmith was very punctual and even properly installed locks that were installed upside down (at no charge). He was only at our house to re-key door locks, but he was very detail oriented and said that now, when we quickly look at the lock we can tell if it's locked or unlocked because all of the locks were installed properly. He was the nicest gentleman and we would highly recommend this company to anyone.

 + 0 moreI emailed them from Angie's list and had a response within 30 minutes. They gave me a quote and scheduled me with a 9am to 12 time frame the next day and would meet me at my storage unit. They called me at 8:15 that day and said tech was on his way and would be there in 45 mins. The tech was very polite and professional. He had a hard time drilling through the lock but kept at it until the job was done. It was very hot that day but he didn't complain, he just kept working at it. I sat in my air conditioned car and felt really bad, but he got the job done and I would definitely recommend them and will use them again if the need arises.
