Description of Work: fixed a leaking underground pipe. I have used them 3 times when a city inspection is required after the fix. Each time I have to call them to remind them to call the city. The work is done to my satisfaction, but their follow up is poor.

Excellent. Came on a weekend. about 30 minutes after we called. He called first. Diagnosed the problem, fixed it (cost effectively) and had me up and going in no time.
Description of Work: Our water heater alarm went off when a small amount of water was in the catch pan. It shut off the water heater. We called, he found the problem, fixed it and it took less than 1/2 hour.

Description of Work: Called due to an issue with water leakage near the water heater. They fit me in for an appointment right away after a little talking. When the plumber came, he noticed the return from the whole house water filter had been cut. This happened during a previous but recent water heater installation by Alpha Wolf plumbing (later admitted but not offered to be properly fixed by Alpha Wolf). The Ed Phillips plumber couldn't work on the Culligan unit but stayed till Culligan repair got there and helped since he had to charge me a service call fee. Also offered coupon info. So very helpful overall. Good experience.

We moved into our house almost one month before the sewer backed up in the downstairs toilet and bath tub. Of course this happened during the last home A&M football game of the 2013 season. We called several plumbers and although a couple of them said they were 24/7, during football games, this must not apply. Ed's Plumbing answered and said their guy was already on another job and had one more person before us. We had to wait a few hours, but the serviceman showed up at 8:00 pm and cleared it out. We couldn't find the cleanout access pipe outside and he was only able to work from the inside. It started acting up again about a week later and we called again. They came right out again and suggested we might need to have the line scoped with a camera, so we set that up. They came out again and searched for the cleanout pipe, finally found it, scoped with the camera and determined we had a crushed pipe. The service man told me he had good news about our crushed pipe that needed to be replaced....it was the city's pipe and they would have to come out and make the repairs no charge to me! He even called the city and had them come out to verify while he was still there with the camera. I think the technician who came out two of three times was Sean. He was very professional and competent.

Description of Work: They did a good job of the repair but had to be called back multiple times to finish the job. I.E., the dug a hole in the garage floor to repair a leak. The fixed the leak but left the hole open for days and had to called a number of times to come back and fill it in and then repair the concrete.

Although the job probably turned into a much bigger pain in the neck that any of us imagined, they stayed until it was done, and one young man stayed behind to clean up their work areas. They were polite, respectful and efficient. I will use them for non-warranty work in the future a well!
Description of Work: Our water heater, located in the attic, went out a couple of weeks ago. We are covered by our home warranty company, and Ed Phillips Plumbing is a contractor for them. At the time the heater went out, Ed Phillips Plumbing (EPP) was dispatched and their technician was unable to restart the heater and it was determined that it needed to be replaced. This water heater was probably original to the house, or at least original to a point prior to rennovations of the property, and before we purchased the house. The rennovations probably removed the original access point to the attic and left only a 2 ft. square opening near the front of the deeply pitched roof. In addition, code upgrades needed to be performed, which the home warranty did not cover. A price was agreed upon and a date set for the work. The workers showed up promptly and began to try to get the water heater through the access point. Because of the angle, they had to cut a larger hole in the ceiling, which we knew in advance was a probability. The code issues caused the workers quite a bit of grief, but I never heard them complain. Though they showed up at 8:30am in the cool part of the day, the job didn't end until 6:30pm that evening, and those young men were working in an attic space that easily was in the 120's!

The repair was effecient and worked well..
Description of Work: Our water heater is in the attic, and, due to the intense heat of this summer weather, the pilot light would go out due to lack of oxygen. The plumber explained that this problem was rather common with homes which have water heaters in the attic. He re lit the pilot and explained that a new thermocouple could help. The part was ordered and the plumber replaced it several days later. No further problem has happened so far. Good service!

They are the best plumber in town. I have used him for over ten years. When they come in for one thing and I find something else they will do it. Essentially they say I have them for an hour, what do I need help with. They will fix whatever needs to be fixed and look at whatever needs to be looked at. I had a tile job done and they did all the plumbing. They fixed a problem where if I turned on one shower it would freeze out the other one. They are absolutely wonderful people and I can't say enough about them. I?ve had other estimates and they are always right on target. They are very professional and I will absolutely continue to use them.

We needed a tub faucet and showever valve replaced. We bought the fixture at the local big box store and arranged for Ed Phillips plumbers to install. The first problem was that the phone crew did not provide the plumbers with adequate information and didn't allow for enough time. The 2 plumbers (a master and journeyman or apprentice plumber I'm guesing) were prompt, clean, courteous and professional. They did the install but there was a problem with the new fixture causing hammering. They thought it was a fault with the fixture so I contacted the manufacturer and a week later, when the new part arrived they reinstalled the part. It didn't solve the new hammering problem and after the plumber spent a long time on the phone with the manufacturer, it was determined that the new fixture had a valve made from one material and the old fixture specs used another type that could handle our city's high water pressure. So another week went by waiting for the part to arrive and another visit from a plumber later. All this time we couldn't use the hall bathroom. The 3rd time, however, the plumber was not professional, clean and courteous and we got charged for the third visit. He was scary. The fixture still hammers if you turn on the hot water "too fast" and the caulking job was poorly done. They said it would be another 3-400$ to install a whole house pressure regulator to permanently fix the new hammering problem, which didn't happen until they installed the new fixture. Whe I called to complain about the additional service charge I got a lame answer about it being the 3rd visit. Which was not my fault. And basically we ended up with a new problem that we didn't have before - pipes hammering. We won't be using them again. We may still install a whole house pressure valve thingy but, will hire another plumber to install it. Overall, what went from a generally positive experience starting out ended up being a bad one that we won't be repeating.

The first pair of gentlemen who came to evaluate the water heater were professional and polite. Very efficient in figuring out the problem, and recommending we turn off the hot water and the electrical supply. We had a little difficulty getting scheduled, but the company worked with us to get a good time. The second pair who came to replace the water heater were also professional and polite and very good at their jobs. No time wasted, and cleaned up after themselves. The job was performed quickly and without much fuss on a VERY hot afternoon. Certainly MUCH easier than handling the replacement ourselves.
Description of Work: Replaced the water heater after it started leaking around the bottom seam.
