The team really took their time to communicate with us including calling us when they were on their over every day. Spray foam is something no one wants to pay for, but their service and professionalism made the experience worth it. I wish everyone was as professional as the crew that worked on my house.
Description of Work: We had spray foam insulation sprayed in our attic.

Jacob is a high energy, highly motivated spray foam installer. His crew was actually overbooked during our install, which caused some delays. However, I always say that a busy contractor is busy for a reason--they are doing something right. Our electric bill reduction (the reason for insulation, right?) went down by approximately 30%+ literally over the course of the install. This reduction occurred as the temperatures outside were actually increasing to over 100 degrees every day. In dollar terms, that means that we will get our and quot;paybackand quot; from the install in only 4-5 years, depending on electric rates/weather/etc. One thing we did not include in our payback was the potential of having our AC equipment last longer as it gets used about half as much. That could easily be worth an extra $500-1000 per year, which makes the payback well under 4 years. That is what I call a quick win in terms of home improvement.... A caveat that applies to all spray foam installations: spray foam has a distinct smell. That smell does dissipate over time. For us, the smell took approximately 2 months to fade. So, you MUST ASK FOR AS MUCH VENTILATION AS POSSIBLE DURING THE INSTALL. You really cannot have too much ventilation. Jacob was very forthcoming in that he said some people even leave the property for a few days during the install. I am not sure if that is needed, but do be aware that you want to have lots of fresh air moving both into and out of the installation zone.
Description of Work: Provided an extensive installation of spray foam in a large home.

The job took two days, but it was done in a professional manner and on time. They cleaned up after themselves. They performed the job as they bid it and as they promised. Good people.
Description of Work: I have a 1800 sq. ft. house on blocks. They sprayed closed cell foam under the house and open cell in the attic. Both are thick and look good. The insulation has helped this old house, built in 1936, to become tight and cold in the summer, and warm in the winter.

Todd (the owner) bid the job two weeks in advance. I was not ready to commence the job right away, and BVSF worked with me to get it scheduled. On a Wednesday and Thursday they worked under my house and in my attic spraying the insulation in. It was a thick and thorough job and commented favorably on by a HVAC technician servicing my A/C unit the following week. The only drawback to spray foam insulation is the pungent paint like odor it emits in the first day or two of application. After that, the odor dissipates and it is not noticeable. The crew worked quickly and professionally during the two days they were out at my place. I can vouch for the success of the operation because the attic at 0700 during the summer was about 100F and by 1500 hours it was nearly 125-130 on a normal pre-foam day. After the foam, on a 104F afternoon the temperature was about 85F in the attic; I did not break a sweat after 10 minutes in the attic that hot afternoon. My A/C stay off so much more than it did in the past. I hope to have a similarly good report this winter. BVSF has called to check up on our satisfaction and the handling of payment has been pleasant. They did what they said they would do with a professional ability.
Description of Work: Brazos Valley Spray Foam (BVSF) sprayed open cell foam insulation into my attic. They sprayed closed cell insulation under my house. My house is an older farm house built in 1936 and was rather inefficient. It is designed to make my air conditioner and heater work less and work more efficiently. The house is 1808 sq. ft.
