Description of Work: I had a couple of new jobs for Tuck as he had done great work for me back in 2011. He repaired the concrete topping which had flacked offf on my concrete deck. He also reinforced, sealed and painted my water well head cover. Wasp were getting in there and building nests, since I am allergic to their sting, I needed this taken care of. Tuck, as always, did a great job, showed up on time and was creative about how best to accomplish the tasks. Tuck is my go to guy!!!

 + -1 moreI contracted Tuck to build in a 10 x 20 patio to function as a room with plenty of light for my wife's painting projects. Tuck received little instructions from me other than make sure it has plenty of ligh and matches the facade of the house. Tuck went out of his way to bring in other suppliers in order to get ideas on how to make this little project "pop". He made sure we got larger high quality pressure windows that matched the House. The stucco job on the inside totally matched the inside of the house. When he finished it was certainly a show stopper for the neighbors. Tuck also finished the job on time and within budget. There were no surprises at all. Tuck is polite, accommodating with schedules, professional, creative and just an overall good guy. I highly recommend Tuck for any small or large jobs and will definitely use him again! Robert & Sue New Braunfels, Texas

 + -1 moreTuck performed admirably in every aspect of the remodel. We met and had a preliminary consultation to get our preferences understood. We found Tuck to be very knowledgeable in each aspect of the remodel and he was able to recommend ways to assure a quality product overall. Prior to starting the job he provided us a written contract specifically spelling out each parties responsibilities which was great because there were no hidden surprises at the end of the job when it was time to settle the invoice. We were very happy with his construction knowledge, workmanship,and skill. Our job was done in a timely professional manner. We are planning more remodeling going forward and Tuck will be the contractor of choice. Not only is he a good contractor put agood ethical person as well. My vote 100 percent.

 + 1 moreMy experience with Tuck was great! He showed up on time, ready to work and did a great job on all my little jobs. What I liked the best was that he made several suggestions to save me money on supplies and called a contact when I could not find the right closet doors. He charged me an hourly rate instead of by the job to save me money. When I have renters in this house I will give them Tuck's business card and have any repairs that may be needed.
Description of Work: I am getting ready to move and plan to rent my house. Tuck did several handyman jobs for me to get the house ready. He did some exterior painting, drywall patching, put up new closet doors, put in a bathroom vanity and changed exterior light fixtures.

 + 0 moreAll 3 projects were completed in one day. We are considering having more custom bookcases installed in our home office later this year & will be calling Tuck to do the work based on previous experience.
Description of Work: I had 3 different "handyman" &/or carpentry jobs that Tuck completed. Our initial scheduled meeting was missed by Tuck do to bad weather, but re-scheduled meeting went fine. Tuck stained & installed custom pre-made wood bookcases/shelves in our living room that attached to wall. The finished product was of good quality & look so much better than the free standing partical board bookcases that were replaced. The next project was replacing the outside garage frame the had been damaged. This involved moving remaining side of frame back into place, replacing smaller wood border on both sides. Finished product, once painted, looked great & made it almost impossible to see where damage occurred. The final project was stabilizing a newly installed dishwasher that was never braced properly.

 + -1 moreWe looked the provided up on Angie's List, called him. He was very punctual on the call, and provided a written estimate. We agreed and he scheduled the work. Most of the work was accomplished while was out of the country on business and I inspected the work after I returned.
Description of Work: Our deck needed cleaning and staining including the porch railing. One of the boards on the porch railing had to be replaced. The deck looks better than the cleaning after we moved in. He moved items off the deck, claenaed the deck and restained the deck. He replaced all of the items on the deck.

The three doors were configured differently, forcing him to use different materiel and techniques to replace the weather stripping. He identified the materiel issues and quickly went to the hardware store to get the required materiel. Definitely will use him again.

 + -1 moreI contacted Tuck to build custom home theater risers for my media room. I wanted a platform on which to put a second row sofa. I had come up with a design, but Tuck helped refine it. We finally came up with two 4 1/2 foot by 4 1/2 foot risers that would be 8 inches high and be made from 2x8's and 3/4 inch thick plywood covered by carpet. I was a little surprised when he quoted me an inital price of over $800 dollars, but he was willing to negotiate a bit. Then, when I said I would supply the carpet from some that I was pulling up in my house, he agreed to do it for $565. He completed the project on time with good quality. The risers are extremely sturdy and heavy and I have no doubt that they will last indefinitely. Tuck was also good to work with. I created a custom contract for the work and he invited me into his home to sign it. The only complaint that I have is that he did not take enough carpet to completely cover the risers so one side on each riser was left uncarpeted, but in the end, that was not a problem since the risers will be pushed together anyway. I intend to use Tuck again for other projects around the home.

Description of Work: My husband and I will definitely use Mr. Burger with our home improvement needs in the future. The most important thing for me was attention to detail, the choices Mr. Burger offered along the way, and yet he also worked very quickly. My husband and I spent two full days installing Allure vinyl "wood" plank flooring and got less than half of our large dining/living combination finished. After painstakingly trimming around the fireplace, my husband was not looking forward to trimming around the very large three sided bar and door moldings down the hall, etc. I called a couple of people and ultimately went with Mr. Burger. I asked him if he had ever done Allure. He was honest and stated he had not, but reported it wasn't rocket science. :) I figured if he can cut wood and laminate based on other reviews, surely he can do this. In less than a day he completed the living/dining and hallway. We decided to do Allure tile in the entry, which he completed on the second day along with installing shoemolding and installing the transition pieces in the doorways. I was adamant that I did not want metal transition pieces and wanted wood. He was meticulous in how he cut the various pieces so that it would either blend into the wall or in with the shoe molding depending on location/aesthetics. I really liked the fact that he would stop along way and give me a choice, explaining he could do either A or B, it was just a matter of personal preference. He also undercut the door trim on 4 door frames in the hallway so the planks would slide underneath. We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this job, thanks to Mr. Burger's craftsmanship!

Unfortunately, by the time Friday came around we had to be out of the house for showings. He volunteered to come in the evening. We figured it would just be for the estimate, but when we got home after the last showing, there was Tuck on our front porch fixing the doorbell! (Task #1)Task #2 was to repair the front door which was sticking after being painted several weeks ago. He planed the door and painted the newly exposed wood in a flash. Tuck evaluated Task #3 and felt nothing needed to be done at this time. He cleaned up as he worked, and charged us less than his usual fee because we live just a few miles apart and he was here less than an hour. He offered to help with any inspection repairs needed, and we will call him! Tuck is very courteous and personable. Thanks Tuck! Thanks Angie's List!

He was very punctual, timely, and a man of his word and worked hard until completion. Everything he did was done in a professional manner and my wife and I were very pleased with everything he did. We will definitely call upon and use him again.
Description of Work: Tuck stained my new arbor and installed a ceiling fan under it. He also fixed several parts of my fence to include the gate. And he also patched up my front door and finally installed a couple of ceiling fans indoors.

Description of Work: The work included removing old kitchen cabinets, sink, and plumbing and installing new cabinets, a new sink, and a dishwasher and all of the miscellaneous plumbing/carpentry wizardry to make this work (the original kitchen did not have a dishwasher and had very unique dimensions and situations due to homeowner made upgrades through the years.
