Description of Work: We own a home on Lake McQueeney near New Braunfels Texas. Being a non-resident vacation home owner, we have struggled to find dependable contractors for small to medium repair and remodeling work. Tuck did a series of repairs and upgrades for us that included new exterior door system installations and a complete rebuild of our dock. We found his work to be of the highest quality in all cases and intend to use him for additional work in the future. JPA

I did all that she told me to do, which was what the granite installers told her to do. I had no way to measure where the sink was going to be installed. I was told to just reinforce the back of sink cabinet, which I did with some 1x2. This is the first that I have heard of this. Would have tried to accommodate her.

Description of Work: I was hoping a complex remodel of a cabinet could be accomplished. After a careful examination of the options, this provider told me that it would not be possible to do what I wanted the way I wanted to do it. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone and plan to use him in the future.

Description of Work: Tuck did a superb job assisting me remodeling our bathroom. He recessed medicine cabinets into a load bearing wall. I did not feel comfortable doing that. He came on time each day. RETURNED phone calls promptly. He then called a day after the job was done to ensure it was okay! Hire him you will not be disappointed!

Description of Work: Tuck came to my house and looked at the windows where I wanted plantation shutters installed and measured and talked with me at length about what I wanted. After a few days, he called to say he had found an on-line shutter company which had the best quality for the best prices and then he came to my house again to get on the phone with the shutter company to be talked through the ordering process with me right there. We had to wait 8 weeks for the shutters to arrive and he kept in touch with me during that wait. When the boxes arrived I notified him and we made an appt. to have him come install the shutters. We had to make a second appt. when we realized that not all the parts had come as ordered but he kept on top of that too, checking with the company himself. Then he came to do the actual installation and he was meticulous about fitting and placing the shutters properly. They look great. Like pieces of furniture themselves. He charged me $350 for his efforts and considering the amount of time he had to spend on the project, i considered this very fair. Yes, I will hire him again.

Tuck showed up when he said he would, had all of the tools and materials that he needed, and did a great job. He showed his skill by proposing a small alteration to the design that made the whole project cleaner and simpler, with great results. I would hire him again.
Description of Work: built out a portion of my entryway, per the architect's design, with cedar slats. (it was more extensive and involved than that sounds)

Overall the experience was OK. Some things were completed very well. Such as the wall and breakfast bar. The trim work was not as detailed or as professional as we would have liked. The overall quality of the trim work was only fair. Several of the doors that were hung were not plumb. In all fairness this was a difficult house to work in and nothing was square to begin with. The contractor was always punctual and friendly. However, he needed detailed instructions and often would get side tracked. I would recommend him for one specific task at a time. I also recommend you get a bid for each task rather than paying by the hour.
Description of Work: Built a kitchen wall with a pantry and closet, built a breakfast bar, fixed poorly hung exterior doors, hung interior doors, insulated and trimmed new interior doors and windows.

As he said, the house was a difficult house to work with and nothing was square, plumb, level, and even the walls were of different widths. I took this job over from a contractor who had been fired by the homeowner, so did not feel comfortable bidding job because previous contractors work was of poor quality. As for detailed instruction, priorities of the homeowners were changed from day to day. I felt that asking for detailed instructions insured that I would provide the best service I could for them. During the job, I was told of all previous contractors and how poorly they performed their services. This makes anyone at the job feel uncomfortable. Overall I take great pride in the work I provide for my customers and strive for excellence, I have over 30 years experience and have many repeat and satisfied customers.

Tuck showed up right on time for on each of the three days the work took. Very reasonable price and he completely cleaned up his workspace each day. He was able to match the stain and put everything back together to the point that it looked new. He also removed my double doors on the front entrance of the house and replaced the weather stripping which was worn. Glad to find an honest handyman/carpenter like Tuck to take care of some things I just can?t do by myself.
Description of Work: I had a plumbing leak which required removal of oven, associated cabinets as well as dry wall, wood trim replacement, painting, etc. Since I was tearing things up, I also decided to put in new appliances which required some reconfiguration. Tuck provided references and I called three of them. They had nothing but praise for his work. He also showed me pictures of his completed work which looked professional.
